Edinburgh v Scunthorpe Championship 26/5/23

Recommended Posts

After the 4 meetings with the 2 new lads, feeling that we should have won at Berwick, got a result at home to Glasgow but lost the away leg & the way we performed on Wednesday, catching Poole a little off & coming away disappointed we did not get a win, I feel now, without Pickering & Cook but they have a specialist in R Worrall, this should be a great chance to get our first away league points.

Pretty sure Paco doesn't trek bikes backwards and forwards between Italy and here every other week! He'll have bikes that he only uses here.

Doesn't really answer the question of why he he couldn't of ridden tonight.

Well that's because he doesn't ride in Italy every other week. As far as I know he only rides there for the Italian Championship and any other individual meetings he is in that happen to be staged in Italy (like tomorrow's SGP qualifier). Why on earth would he keep a separate set of bikes in Italy? If he could have ridden at Armadale tonight and still been able to ride in Italy tomorrow, then I'm sure he would have.

This has to be Scunthorpe's beat chance of an away win, Monarchs missing key riders & it's a track Max Clegg should do well on. If Edinburgh do lose its gonna be very tough to make the play-offs, despite Josh Pickering's suggestion they're aiming for top (not top 6).

I don't 100% but I would almost guarantee he has bikes that he only uses over here.

He certainly has different covers on the ones you see him using in meetings abroad.

Maybe the Italians are like the Danes and have an agreement that their riders must be in the country the day before an FIM event

FIM sign on is usually 10am on the day of the meeting so often it’s a case of the rider could fly in in time for the meeting to start but they need to actually be there at 10 am and can’t get a flight that gets them there in time for that

You've missed the point

FIM regulations for signing into the meeting are irrelevant if the country the rider represents says they must be in the country where the round is being held the day before.

The Danes have done it for donkeys years
