Sheffield v Wolves 24/07

I work 12 months a year. They know the industry they’re getting into and what it entails. We also bend over backwards for riders here letting them double up so they don’t have to get proper jobs to subsidise their racing, to the detriment of the product. The least they can do is take their holidays in the off season. They take the P enough as it is arguably.

It's worse though, the club agreed to it!!

phil morris should be all over this.  brings any semblance of respectability the league has into question.  if both clubs agree to it then the fixture should be deemed as fulfilled but the points shouldn’t count.

It was Phil who made the call to force wolves to do this.Where was he when Sheffield conveniently did not run when Tobi was injured. Phil should have been all over that.

Regarding masters,

so his mrs is on a holiday visa, so needs to leave the country and come back to gain the new visa. That’s fine

but Sam won’t be on that visa so he didn’t need to go on holiday with her,

so why was he allowed a facility yet Douglas and worrall wasn’t.

can someone make sense of that

Why would Wolves agree to that ?

They were allowed a facility - guests upto 75% of the riders average. Despite being forced into accepting the rearranged fixture in the first place.

Looks like Dougy and Sam are on a joint holiday. It's a tough life :D

Speedway doesn't need that kind of publicity! :o

It’s off.

Damn...

Glad I checked on here...

Just about to set off from Stockport...

Didn't want to miss this one for the world...

Just hiope that they can rearrange it given the impossibility they faced of running it on other dates...

Will it be the same line up.?.

Hope so...

Bugger... next year is a leap year, so the ban would be an extra day. Bit tough on Wolverhampton,  Oxford, Scunthorpe and all the other BSPL teams they ride for! :(

Just a thought. For the last five or six years (I didn't check back further), we seem to have had one of the play-off semi-final first legs in late September with the other five fixtures in October.

This season, September appears to have been block booked for the semis (with no two semi-final legs on the same date), presumably with a view to (theoretically) better weather and more extensive TV coverage. All very sensible, but is rhe other side of the coin fewer dates for regular fixtures and less room to manoeuvre regarding rain-offs, etc?

Edited to include "late"

Whilst Tobi was injured, there was one Thursday when the other 6 teams were already scheduled in fixtures against each other, another one the Tigers were away at Ipswich, and one where a home meeting was rained off. What else were they supposed to have done?
