For the last five or six years (I didn't check back further), we seem to have had one of the play-off semi-final first legs in late September with the other five fixtures in October. This season, September appears to have been block booked for the semis (with no two semi-final legs on the same date), presumably with a view to (theoretically) better weather and more extensive TV coverage. All very sensible, but is rhe other side of the coin fewer dates for regular fixtures and less room to manoeuvre regarding rain-offs, etc? Whilst Tobi was injured, there was one Thursday when the other 6 teams were already scheduled in fixtures against each other, another one the Tigers were away at Ipswich, and one where a home meeting was rained off.
