screm 8,062 Posted September 5, 2023 With Tai Woffinden already injured and facing a spell out I cant see the bosses at Sparta Wroclaw being to happy that Artem Laguta is crashing and pulling out of meetings racing for Peterborough, I think there`ll be a word in the Peterborough`s No1 when he returns to Poland.

The crowd was good as well, such a pity this track is about to close. It doesn't happen very often now, that you get a perfect night but the whole thing from travelling down, to the journey back was perfection, even the bollard buggers couldn't shut the roads off quick enough to give any hassle on the way home. Thank you Peterborough for all the great memories over the years, including 2010 when the Brummies became 4s champion. Don't buy the hype. This is not cut and dried, only in the world of AEPG and the EEAS who want their legacy to be 10 year building site and the more than likely resultant concrete jungle that will be nothing like the AEPG brochure! Speedway supporters, both local and far & wide need to keep on and ramp up the pressure on AEPG & PCC. Yes we may lose at some future date but you can be pretty confident that they both don't want the negative publicity that they are getting, and the PPC planning committee certainly don't want to have to justify a decision in favour of the developers as it relates to their own Peterborough Local Plan (adopted 2019, specifically Policy LP36: East of England Showground - The loss of any existing leisure and sports facilities will not be supported unless replacement facilities are provided in accordance with policy LP30.) - AEPG will try to convince PCC that they don't need to adhere to LP30 but, from what we know, their argument can be argued against. If that's the limit of his attitude and professionalism then he should retire now. Class riders, with a few exceptions unfortunately, are on it all of the time and have personal pride. Last night's sham of a no1 had none of those qualities. Following on from that previous comment, fair play to the real Laguta who turned up for this. Those two rides were special and full credit to him for getting up injured and winning the re-run at a canter. Shame that I doubt that we'll see him again this season but that's speedway.
Flappy 1,607 Posted September 5, 2023 (edited) Laguta was a superb watch last night. Chris Holder 5+3 also didn't look on it at all. This now looks a very good side around the EOES and one that if together from march makes the play offs for me. Edited September 5, 2023 by Flappy

scoobydoo 2,258 Posted September 5, 2023 (edited) Chris Harris clearly had 2 aims for this season To win the World Longtrack World Championship and unfortunately Artem Laguta's left ankle. Do the Panthers really want to do Ipswich a favour on Thursday that is the question !! If Peterborough were to beat Leicester by more than 24pts does the final play off place go then to head to head results or race points Panthers could easily be riding Thursday carrying or missing 2 injured riders , Laguta and NKI , Edited September 5, 2023 by scoobydoo

PETERBOROUGH have been given a boost over the fitness of Artem Laguta ahead of their crunch clash with Leicester on Thursday.Laguta missed his final ride in Monday's win over Sheffield due to sustaining an ankle injury after an awkward second-bend tangle with team-mate Chris Harris in Heat 10, although he made a superb move to win the re-run before the ankle swelled up.However, the good news is nothing is broken and he will have more treatment locally before taking his place against the Lions. 2

LagutaRacingFan 1,940 Posted September 5, 2023 Fair play to Laguta. He is proving a lot of people wrong with his commitment to British Speedway. If the Panthers are running, Laguta on a 8 point average would be a fantastic signing. He is only going to get better on the away tracks.

Yes but a shame Laguta wouldn’t have been interested in March Edited September 5, 2023 by Call me wolfie

This team would have won the league, possibly according to many fans now.But as you correctly say they wanted Holder, but he is just average now. Many didn't want Iversen or in fact Harris back. But now many think they are part of the make up that could have won them the title.Us speedway fans are rather fickle aren't we
