It would be super if it were announced soon...

Is that a clue? Weston super Mare?

I have no idea and no inside information. Tempted to have a guess but wouldn't want to have a mare and get it wrong

Ah man, I was really hoping it was Northampton.

Have heard very different rumours about Weston either definitely happening or dead as a do do.

I guess the other aspect if it opened, is it may hasten the loss of Plymouth who attract a fair few from South of Somerset and North of Exeter.

Re "Northampton" the track at Braefield has been used for speedway before so not strictly speaking a new new track.

Any new team or returning team would be very welcome.

Wherever it is, it's got to already have a track

Phil Morris suggested there would be a new team for 2024 at a completely new venue.

Thats why previous comments have pointed out that neither Osdal nor Braefield Northampton are new venues in the literal sense.

Weston Super Mare would be literally a new track.

To coin a currently popular phrase, you surely have to have spades in the ground by now to be ready for April 2024 if it was a new greenfield site.

Probable you could slot a track in to an existing venue if it was just the track to put in.

That would conflict with Phil Morris's statement that it's a completely new venue for speedway

But I can't see something being built from scratch between now and April, so I'd guess there must be some existing stadium for other sport that just needs a track putting in.

Didn’t Birmingham get permission in Nov for a March start?

That was laying a new track in an existing stadium.    That's doable in the time.    But building from scratch like say Workington would be a tough ask between now and April.

Spot on.

Braefield and Odsal already have shale tracks laid down

Neither new.

The Welsh venue us existing would need a track laying.

Weston as far as I know is currently a field.

Is there a disused or little used Footy, Banger or Athletics venue anywhere with infrastructure you could slot a track into.

Has anyone ever suggested that a new track would be up and running in 2024?!
