Its the crimes Garrity committed whilst under the influence of drugs that sit badly with anyone with any self respect or morals. Mugging OAPs is one of the lowest crimes you can commit. Can't honestly remember if he was banned for drugs, but the kind of drug dealing Courtney was involved in was not tiny amounts, and I can't imagine someone being a drug dealer of that level without having been a user to some extent. You don't get many vegan butchers. So using the odd morals of some people, a mugger of grannies is far safer to be in Speedway than Mark Courtney, Richie Worrall, Frank Smart, or Roger Lobb.
