I think the RS is the most important position in the team, the difference between Dan T & Joe T / Gilkes is massive.

Last year it was more equal I feel.

Thought "smiler" Hawkins had thrown us a bone there putting Rew in 14, turned out to be an inspired move...

At least we're not Birmingham :D

God how good is Dan thomson at leicester? Just out muscled Lawson. That stupid bloody rule with the rising stars means we couldn't use our OWN asset. Speedway gone mad again.

Well you did sack him last year !!!! If you hadn’t I’m sure he would be your R/S

Ridiculous ! Kemp done well but Dan was holding his own still

The bizarre thing is had Ipswich not been silly and signed Kemp as their "rs" they wouldn't have dropped him, Leicester wouldn't have had the option to strengthen up by dropping Dan T & he'd still be their "rs" this year.

So by perhaps costing themselves the league by using Joe T last year, Ipswich may have helped themselves win it this year by using Dan T.

What a night to be an Ipswich supporter, Witches and tractor boys done us proud.

Dan T not just good at Leicester,  he's pretty sharp at Foxhall:P

Leicester like Sheffield don't have any reserves.

Long season ahead for the Lions unless changes are made.

Don’t think there was much choice in the end to use Joe again once Dan got injured at the ar$e end of the season but that almost certainly cost them the title in the end. Two points across the play off final meetings for Joe proved costly. Dan was flying until his shoulder injury. Mind you, Ipswich should never have signed Joe in the first place!

Thought both Rew and Jenkins were better than their scores suggest. Jenkins looked quicker here than he has at Foxhall this season so signs of improvement there, and Rew was unlucky in a couple of his non scoring races. Other than that, very solid through the team.

That has to have been Kemp’s worst meeting at BP, Fricke also having his late start again this year not helping either.

You may be right, even if Dan T started, Ipswich might have needed Joe to cover injury in the play-offs. But they certainly shouldn't have picked him to begin with.

I guess it's possible had Joe not started the season & struggled, he may have had more confidence when getting a chance later on?

Rew's non-scoring heats were very tough heats too. Basically racing against 2 heat leaders.

Indeed. Can’t remember which one it was but he made a great first couple of bends and was about to fly past everyone down the back straight, but kind of got stuffed by Doyle which ended his race. Plenty of pace though. Looks quicker than last season already that’s for sure.

He seems much more confident - last year he could sometimes gate well then got muscled out or passed, dont feel that will happen so much this year like you say his no scoring rides were against heatleaders but all the Witches were on the pace tonight which for an away performance will be encouraging.  The only 'worry' right now is Emil seems to need a ride or two to get going!

I do fear for Joe T. The one thing expected of an RS is to beat the opposing RS in home matches. If you cannot pick up points in those races, where are your points coming from? In all fairness tonight, his brother will be the best No.7 he has to face at home, but I think this is going to be a very tough season for Joe and Dickson will be ruthless again if necessary (depending on what options become available).

Rew at reserve is where he belongs I think, might get more confidence, Kemp was always a risk at reserve ,kept wrong one
