pvm 118 Posted April 17 Line ups not confirmed :- Redcar “Bears” 1, Danny King; 2, Jason Edwards; 3, Connor Bailey; 4, Jonas Knudsen; 5, Charles Wright; 6, Jake Mulford; 7, Ben Trigger. Scunthorpe “ Scorpions “ 1. Kyle Howarth, 2. Connor Mountain, 3. Simon Lambert (captain), 4. Michael Palm Toft, 5. Jake Allen, 6. TBC , 7. Luke Harrison. With a a 52-38 home victory, Scunthorpe will be confident of gaining the bonus point, and possibly more, especially after Workington Comets win at the ECCO arena last week, but this is Speedway where anything can happen. A 53-37 victory to Redcar on Friday followed by a victory at Workington on Saturday and it would still be all to play for (glass half-full). All should be clear over the next few days or will it? Yearbyred 1,117 Posted April 17 On paper this is a tougher meeting than last week for the Bears. 3 ex Bears in the Scorpions line up, plus Howarth and Lambert who both score well at Redcar. Need a much better performance from the Bears or it will be another home loss I fear.
szkocjasid 3,191 Posted April 17 Scunthorpe could well win this one. Certainly got the bonus point sewn up imo.

Unless that happens, all I can see, as you say, is a straight forward Scorpions win.

Marksman 556 Posted April 19 Hoping for a Redcar victory in this one, but honestly see another away victory in this one. 43-47. Hope I’m wrong!
Fromafar 10,497 Posted April 19 Danny King really needs to step as aNo1 or Redcar could be in trouble.Mind you Palm Toft and Allen sometimes have howlers.
IronScorpion 1,414 Posted April 19 As others have said, we have some riders that have ridden well at Redcar & similarly not so good. J Smith being brought in could be a M Clegg of last year, too rusty. Hope for a good safe meeting for all riders but feel we may just lose this 48-42 after Redcar have had a kick up the backside. There's been so many rain-offs plenty of riders could still be rusty, so shouldn't hinder him tbh. Smith has constantly said in interviews about his ability to win heats in both the Prem & Champ. This is his chance to show it.
4BM 126 Posted April 19 Hopefully Kyle Howarth not feeling two second hand today after his awkward off last night, he counted them and we’re still there but imagine he’ll be sore today
Yearbyred 1,117 Posted April 19 Another week where the Bears start well, then fade badly and lose. Bigger defeat than last week but probably more encouraging performance (if that makes sense?). Meeting changed when Charlie, who only had one completed ride, took a really awkward tumble over his handlebars and hurt his shoulder and Bears had to use IRR. The race he was injured in was turning into the best race of the night and his loss was too much for the inconsistent Bears to overcome. Edwards, Bailey and Knudsen all showed much better flashes this week, which was encouraging but the team overall is still too hit and miss. King started well but faded and was poor when it mattered most. Scorpions are a strong team with a lot of riders who like Redcar so I was expecting a defeat and given the circumstances it’s not all doom and gloom for the Bears. Crowd seemed significantly down from last week which is a worry although it was a bitterly cold night.
Albert 305 Posted April 19 Losing Wrighty after two rides was tough on Redcar, who knows how that may have affected to overall result. That said, great team effort from Scunny,... 3 out of 3, keep it going boys

Danny King is going missing in the big races in this League .IMo.Good effort from Redcar considering the lost Wright. Edited April 20 by Fromafar
