    • Nagel definitely the key at Ashfield.Poole will be happy he is not there.IMO
    • Well now the season has come to an end I thought I’d offer my thoughts on each riders season to try restart this thread!    Steve Worrall - it’s been a tough season for Steve who is certainly isn’t a number 1 anymore. He is on a nice average for next year but If the rumours are correct that he has retired it will be a shame but not surprising.   Jake Allen - another tough year for Jake, some nights looks like he’s got bags of speed, other nights looks like he’s on a tractor. Ideally you would only want Jake as a third heat leader. On an average of 6.53 I’m on the fence as to whether he should return.    Connor Mountain - one of few riders that has a decent enough season. A solid and dependable rider who I would expect to be back next year. Only thing I would say his average just over 6 is a little heigh for my liking.    Zaine Kennedy - Zaine has progressed nicely this year and deffo has potential to grow into a heat leader. On an average just over 5 I would say he needs to snapped up for next year before someone else does.   Luke Harrison - a talented young lad who has maintained a decent average riding in the main body of the team for large parts of the year. Would deffo want Luke back next year but looking at this Facebook page he may well be off elsewhere, maybe this is a negotiation tactic - I’m not sure?!!   Declan Kennedy - very much had a season of 2 halves. Started well at reserve but understandably struggled when riding at number 3. If he could be slotted in at reserve next year would be an ok signing in my opinion.     Simon Lambert - well, where do I start! A pretty poor first 2/3 of the season although he did pick up some form later in the season. His average has plummeted to 4.64  but I think really Rob needs to put a line in the sand and let Simon go for next season.    Potential signings - well the obvious requirement is a genuine number 1 however this is easier said than done! I’m struggling to see a number 1 in the league that might be tempted to the EWR.    Scunthorpe certainly have a type of rider they go for so having said that here are a few people that might come and would be decent enough signings IMO - MPT (cheap average) Nick Morris (former scorpion on a cheap average) Dan Gilkes (providing injury is ok) Anders Rowe (may be a victim of the numbers at Poole) Anti Vuolas (seems to love the place but think a few clubs will want him).    As a I said just my thoughts.
    • I take my hat off to any Pirates fans who are off to Glasgow on the off chance of it going ahead. My weather app shows a pretty dodgy forecast at the moment.  Is Nagel really that key? (I haven't had a chance to see him race) if so just as well he's got other priorities. Mind now Anders has his gating gloves back Poole will be stronger.
    • Being measured up for a Poole race suit as we speak
    • I’ve pulled you up on this before and it’s been a while since you’ve regurgitated this nonsense. Right from the start of the season you seemed to take offence at every man and his dog tipping Ipswich to win comfortably and you wrongly labelled Ipswich supporters on here “arrogant”. You haven’t specifically said Ipswich fans this time in your post, but it’s obvious who you meant.    The Ipswich supporters actually were the ones who were much more reserved about their chances because of the way they’ve been burned the past couple of years, it was supporters of other clubs that basically wrote the season off as Ipswich were going to clean house.    When you argued against this, I asked you to quote these “arrogant Ipswich fans” posts, and surprise surprise you disappeared because said posts didn’t exist.    Others joined you in sticking the boot in and it all became a bit bizarre. The usual suspects from Belle Vue joined the party, as did one or two of your fellow Leicester supporters, and unsurprisingly, one vociferous King’s Lynn supporter. None of them could back up the cr@p they were coming out with by actually pulling up the quotes they were all whinging about. The only ones that didn’t seem to pile in were anyone from Sheffield so for that reason, if Ipswich don’t manage to pull it off, I hope they do.    One poster, @szkocjasid , was the one who asked the question, “can they win every meeting” after Ipswich were blowing everyone away early doors. He didn’t say they would to be fair to him, but he asked the question.    I personally hope Ipswich win this and I hope others who don’t have a horse in the race do too. I’ve an awful lot of respect for the way Chris Louis runs his club. A proper speedway man and as it turns out, a very good and professional business man too. If others in the sport ran their clubs as professionally as Louis does his, we wouldn’t be in half the bloody mess we currently find ourselves in.
    • He'll be at Poole that's obvious
