Weeks ago somebody suggested that any rider who misses at least a season over here should be reassessed, their new figure calculated from their averages in other leagues using a pre determined formula. Seems the most sensible and fairest option to me.5 points

To the tune of Agadoo Ander-sen-sen-sen, he's better than Rick-ard-sson, Ander-sen-sen-sen, He’s our reserve magician, riding left riding right through middle he'll win all night, so Matt Ford, He is ours, so shove ya cheque book up your ar$€4 points

No No No!! The crux of this for me is allowing any riders back on old averages. Using Woryna purely as an example - he has an old average from a few years and has since improved significantly as a rider yet is allowed to keep his old average giving any team that signs him (Poole in his case) a 3+ average advantage before a wheel has even turned. That is wrong but the rules allow it!4 points

To be honest, sid, I think the Hammers will need to learn to function as a 6 man team and leave Alfie to pick up whatever points he can without putting him under pressure. Alfie has a good attitude, he is very brave and determined but he is very inexperienced and still has a long way to go. It’s a pity he couldn’t get a NL place as well, to bring him on. The crowd love him though because he is a trier. Zach has tremendous flair and instinct for racing. If he stays injury free he should, I hope finish the season as a genuine second string at this level . Ben isa more thoughtful rider who uses his head .He should do ok on the technical tracks but still needs to learn to let the bike run on the big ones. Nick just oozes professionalism and we are lucky to have him. My guess is he will score well wherever he goes. Adam will be the sort of rider that wins matches, I would say is now capable of beating any rider in the league if he gates, especially at home. Rich Lawson is probably as good as he is going to get, but is good at most tracks. Kyle Newman I am not sure about . He just gets on with the job nor seeming to be doing anything spectacular, but he was joint fourth highest scorer last night which was pretty good. I would say he is a bit of a dark horse, maybe not pulling up any trees, but not getting too manylast places either, which sort of what you want in a second string. Overall I think we are very lucky with the team.3 points

Gordon when the rule was announced wouldn't it of been easier to do a list of everybody who might ride in the uk and show the public beforehand what there figure would be.How hard is that go to the list check ie) an example Lebedev rode for Kings Lynn what would he come in on? rules should be in black and white gospel no loopholes but they are not.3 points

I used the phrase “in most instances” because BSPA Management Committee have the final say on averages for individual rider averages - think Andreas Jonsson when he returned to Lakeside on a lower average as his historic CMA was thought to be too high. I am not aware where the suggestion that there was a “9 point rule” came from and have never seen anything in writing saying it had been agreed.3 points

some people are in fantasy world this is no hull of 2005 ...... ffs ..... that team didn't have a no 1 yes .............. but they had a no 3 riding at 7 !!!!!!!!! that's why they cruised it - that team was an exception ........ that side had 4 better riders than our number 1 I repeat most successful teams in last 10 years ... have an outstanding no 1 (top 5 in averages) and best number 6 in league I don't expect a championship winning side ,,, but I expect a competitive team.... this team whilst full of tryers is simply not good enough come july if we are in playoff chase I wlll gladly eat my hat ............ but somehow I think we will firmly at the bottom ..... and I fear for Newcastle cos I think the crowds will dwindle further because the team is so uncompetitive (not lack of effort) .............. I hope I am 100% wrong3 points

Think it's you who needs to re-read your post. The word "just" was not there. You said the track was "raceable, not rideable", which clearly makes no sense. If it wasn't rideable, then it can't have been raceable either. If you had used the word "just" (which you are now trying to slip in) you'd have been saying that the track was "not just rideable, but raceable too" and that would have made sense. By not re-reading your post and correcting your mistake you've just succeeded in making yourself look a fool for about 7 pages.2 points

15.14 TOP SCORER’S HEAT (Heat 15 in all SGB League Competitions) incl NDL 15.14.1 Gate Positions are determined by the outcome of the Coin Toss at the start of the Meeting. 15.14.2 The Home Team Manager nominates first, but once nominated these cannot be amended, except by the Referee should the nomination not conform to the Regulations. 15.14.3 Nominations must be a ‘qualified’ Rider, determined as either: a) A Rider in the top 3 of that Meeting’s Team by current MA (NB. A Team missing one of the top 3 and using the RR facility) may use the 4th highest Rider by MA. or A Top 5 points scorer (counting the 4 x programmed rides only, including bonus points). Excluding any rider who has already taken 7 rides or if one of those top 5 point scorers has already taken 7 rides then the 6th highest points scorer becomes a ‘qualified’ rider. (NB: No facility is available allowing another rider to be elevated to the qualified list if any of those top 5 points scorers are unavailable due to be withdrawn or has no equipment). If a rider is disqualified for an offence under Art 15.3 the Team Manager may choose either of the following options: - i) The disqualified rider can start on a 15 metre handicap in c or d (The opposing team does not change gate positions). or ii) Is replaced by a reserve who will start from the same gate position at the tapes. In a re-run of heat 15 a non-disqualified rider who is unable to take part may be replaced by a reserve or another ‘qualified’ rider. Can I suggest an easier amendment 1. Riders are selected by the team manager who can choose any rider from his teams 1-7 less any that have already completed 7 rides. 2. Any offences at the start or during the race incur the usual penalties as per heats 1-14. Is it really that difficult.2 points

Im confused. If a track is raceable then its rideable yes? If a track is rideable doesnt mean its raceable You cant state a track is raceable i.e meaning riders can race and overtake without it being rideable surely? Belle Vue v Poole a few years ago in the rain when Poole forced the meeting to heat 10. Track was rideable but the riders couldnt race on it.2 points
-
He's hampering his own career , once during a meeting going through the tapes can happen to anyone , but twice isn't good and it has to be stopped somehow . Cause he can be a decent wee rider on his day but he's no use sat in the pits excluded or going off 15 metres .2 points

pinny not sure i agree with with your tone, but you are 100%correct starman is a total embarrassment to poole speedway and its supporters.he is a volunteer(for which matt like all promoters appreciates) and performs several menial tasks on racenight but is in no way connected to the promotion and certainly not track prep(he would know as much about track prep as me, basically nothing)he made a mistake re "rideable/raceable" just needed to say oops sorry not proceed with ludicrous posts2 points

Bored this morning so I thought I'd knock this up. To the tune of Kylie Minogue's "can't get you out my head". Also picked this as it has a local attachment to it as the song was written by singer songwriter Cathy Dennis from Norwich. I just can't get you out of my head, The King's Lynn Stars is all I think about. Rivals can't get us out of their head, We're on a 5-1, there is never doubt. I just can't get it out of my head, Seeing Fat Maud crying his eye's out. I just can't get you out of my head, The King's Lynn Stars win is without a doubt. Every week Every race We come here to cheer on the Stars We'll win all day Home and away Stars forever and ever and ever2 points

If last night is anything to go by , the lad is going to be a firm favourite in Glasgow . It was an astonishing debut at Championship level . He looked as if he had been riding Ashfield for years rather than his first time on the track . Obviously it was just his first meeting and you don't want expectations of the lad to get too high , but he looks a star in the making and its going to be exciting watching him progress throughout the year2 points

Lot of supporters questioning the rights/wrongs of Poole signing Kildeman and earlier the 2 Poles. A great sign or ringers, each will have an opinion. However for next season to prevent this. BSPA at the end of October should have a list of every speedway rider worldwide. Each rider is given his current end of season UK average. Non UK riders an assessed average depending on leagues they ride in. This list is then published for promoters / supporters etc. Any rider who wishes to appeal his average then has 5 days to appeal to a BSPA panel. Panel makes final decision and this official BSPA average list is published at the latest 1st November. Promoters team building, use this list and no changes or acceptions can be made. Each year same procedure. Riders, promoters, supporters all will know where they are.2 points

Not for for the better unfortunately. Over the last few years chris has not help himself lets be honest about it1 point

I know that in your eyes EVERYTHING connected to speedway is always perfect, but put your tongue away please just for ONCE and actually LISTEN to his commentary next time two riders pass each other on the final lap of a GP race for example.....it will be screams and noises, NO WORDS. Now go and compare that to how a proper professional commentator i.e. Lanning, used to do it. Then come back with your stupid comments if you still think Pearson doesnt sound like a monkey in comparison!1 point

It wisnae a challenge it was the Scottish cup and I know if I was a monarchs fan I'd be wanting my manager to try everything to win or keep the score tight. By the way enjoyed last night. Considering the weather track not bad and looks nice and wide. Also looked like a good crowd despite the cold and the other attractions on in Glasgow last night. The score sets up the second leg quite nicely1 point

Track was hard packed and slick and a very very cold night but it was great to be back. Richie and James had an off night and will do better in the future. Was well impressed with young Jack Thomas did not expect that from his debut a star in the making for sure. Starke ,Kerr and Vissing were superb and for the Monarchs Erik Riss will be at no 1 before the end of the season, he improves year on year. Max Ruml showed some flashes and should do well once he gets to grips with the different tracks ..Matt Williamson had a good night and is very difficult to pass when he is in front, all in all it was ja cracking night , glad to be back ,would like a bit more dirt down for when bomber is back .1 point

Matej Zagar claims he has been re-assessed to a 9: http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/6430/zagars-british-blow Are you suggesting he is wrong and could have been signed on his 2016 average of 7.48?1 point

He needs to be man managed and put on a tight leash. Im surprised by last night, surely we have said to him we'll bring you back but the tapes issues must stop. He's played victim too often in the past and in reality his career is in the last chance saloon. Only he can want to change. He'll be replaced if he doesnt!1 point

Thank you for the reply. It is interesting to note your comments about the reduction of Andreas Jonsson's average because it was thought to be too high. It makes the decision to allow Woryna to return on an average, which seems to be universally accepted as too low, even more puzzling. With the precedent having been set with Jonsson it is again another example of the inconsistency of the decision making by the BSPA. It is exactly this sort of inconsistency which adds to the lack of credibility. With regard to the GP rider rule it wasn't something made up on this forum. A number of promoters have said publicly that it was the change to the averages of some GP riders which prevented them from considering signing them. Plainly, either they are misleading their fans, which I don't believe, or something has been done that affects the averages of GP riders. Your point in your later post about rounding up or down averages had been discussed on this forum. The problem with it is that those teams with the financial clout or better reputations with riders could then sign riders just below 8.5, 7.5 etc., As 8 or 7 point riders gaining a significant advantage over those left to sign the 8.6, 7.6 etc., riders as 9 or 8 point riders.1 point

It’s nowt to do with hating Poole or the “anti Poole brigade” as you call it. It’s about making the sport look professional. Wearing racesuits is a step in that direction as Poole riders are in a “team”. I’ll say the same to Somerset as well. If teams in the championship & NL can why can’t teams in two top flight? Imagine how it’s going to look on TV. I think that’s the main issues most fans have.1 point

I am sure it would be helpful and appreciated if you could explain your caveat of "in most instances". It presumably means that there are exceptions where some riders with an existing CMA wouldn't return on that CMA. What are the criteria for those exceptions? SImilarly, you also say that there is no 9 point GP rider rule. Is there any GP rider point rule? I am sure that you can understand the confusion being created for the fans when we are told that Zagar, Woffinden and Pawlicki have been reassessed but apparently Kildemand and Iversen haven't and that Vaculik is assessed at 8 but other GP riders at 9. Credibility is a serious problem for speedway in the UK and one of the major reasons why fans have walked away and why the media refuses to take it seriously. It is the far too often lack of openness and clarity by the BSPA which leaves fans bewildered and disillusioned and inevitably leads to the sort of disparaging comments and conjecture seen on this and many other threads. If the BSPA wishes to gain respect and move the sport forward it must be open and transparent and ensure that rules are clear, concise, published and interpreted consistently and fairly.1 point

This team is set up points wise very much like the team I rode in for Berwick. I recall we lost the league by one sole point on the last day of the season against rye house . This was at there track and a reall climax to the season . . One hell of a year for Berwick that season and there fans as most of there fans wrote us off that year to . The bandits had no number 1 or a strong one and we constantly were swapping team positions through the year with the green sheets . But beleave me there is always someone that pops up and smashed a good score and the rest support . Might not be the same rider every week but A rider will always have a good night . Then all the rest have to just do there job . Shame no press day but a chalange at home to get some laps on the track and bikes settled . Might take a few meeting for us to settle but I think we could surrise a few people . So have faith guys and girls might just be the under dog team you could enjoy watching the most for a long time . Catch ya soon people1 point
