I agree that all British riders should be available, but on the agreeance that all international matches are known prior to the start of the season. Not slapped in your face a few weeks before they want you to ride.I think this is fair don't you?6 points

They were also on a Saturday night in King’s Lynn’s case, a much better night for added extras ......5 points

Like you say life goes ,but I'm afraid your comparison to Newcastle United is naive and not comparable to speedway in general. You seem to take the same view as your fellow "dirt" columnist Mr Barrie regarding "old" fans saying we really need to forget about them and we need to look to the future attracting new fans and intimating we have everything in place with our " children go free" in place hoping to convert them in later years which is excellent ,unfortunately IMO the problem is who pays the riders for next 6-8-10 years till these children start paying at the gate, if they stick around .Also a lot of the missing fans in recent season were not the "die-hards" yearning for the " heydays" but people who no longer think the entertainment value does match the cost.I have attended Berwick since it opened in 1968 and still see most of that generation that are still with us and their families still on the terraces ,the bottom line is we are not attracting a new generation of Adults.Speedway is in difficult place and most of the problems are discussed on various forums, unfortunately it is just social media and will not solve anything. It is up to the sports Governing bodies to sort it out.Unfortunatly IMO they are struggling.4 points

Shock, another thread started to have a dig at the club this person supposedly supports. Come on Jack Smith, shut this fool up.4 points

Lambert coming across as a total tool, the track was perfect as clearly stated by Brady after the meeting. By all accounts the tractor has had a major issue after the meeting during grading resulting in the oil spill, One of those things that can't be helped.3 points

Good job it wasn't Bellego as he has suggested for months or we would have struggled to get 25 tonight3 points

You know after the winter of discontent 2010,2011 and such a pity during that time the sport did not end up in the law courts ,a big shake up was needed and for me that was a opportunity missed. Since that time interesting enough the sport has simply been going downhill. Are top league down to seven teams, however a turning point could happen next season with one promoter possibly saleing up ,and for me if that club closes the door others I feel will have more of a say . Has to be one big league however and unfortunately that has to be at championship level, top riders are costly and we don’t need them to provide entertaining racing ,let them race elsewhere. I hope common since is the answer over the winter . Give the sport time to recover at a lower level for now. Please3 points

8 - 10 points that may ultimately help knock his own team, his own fans, and incredibly HIMSELF out of a chance of being a League Champion... To be fair though.... Max Fricke did his level best to do the same on Monday.... No Promoters (or fans) should ever moan about why stadiums are empty, and the mainstream media persist in completely igoring the Sport, whilst such nonsense is allowed to take place... What you got away with years ago simply doesn't wash anymore in the glare of the 24/7 public scrutiny of Social Media... "Arrr, but this is Speedway". Is the stock answer from those who bury their head in the sand and collude with the promoters by attending and pretending that it is a 'real' Competition... (Those few who still attend that is)... Those many more thousands who have given up ever hoping it may one day gain credibilty to make it a bona fide 'proper' Competition, have a somewhat different view I would suggest.... And have 'spoken' loud and clear through their continuing absence....3 points

Thats my point - how can Poland insist he rides NOWHERE for 14 days Yes not within 14 days in Poland but if his time out within UK rules has expired and he felt fit to ride then Poland should not be able to dictate3 points

Clearly you are a stirrer or not very good at finding information on Web sites. The website has info on the full gb team and rossiters thoughts. It also gives the name of the first 4 Aus riders Chris Holder, Fricke and Brady kurtz and Doyle subject to a fitness test. You can also look at the Facebook site.3 points

Not just Lynn fans though is it? So don't make it about clubs and allegiances. It's more about common sense and seeing the bigger picture, and considering and discussing the circumstances rather than just seeing things in black and white. The lad has been riding four or more times a week almost all season, more experienced riders than he have suffered burn out at this stage of the year and some have even opted out of the SWC to prevent it happening. I expect this was his only window to have a short battery recharge hence why a holiday was booked probably weeks and weeks ago. As I have said all along it is disappointing and less than ideal that he won't be there but understandable. And the positive is that somebody else gets an opportunity to show what they can do.3 points

A friendly? Ya stupid Pom -- we don't do friendlies against your lot. Never have, never will. This is a Test Match, long overdue -- and Australia are going to humiliate England, just like always.3 points

Totally agree.....why does it matter about movement at the start?....why does it matter about getting a flier?.....so long as you don't touch the tapes. The starts would be less predictable and therefore the racing more exiting. These silly starting rules are destroying good speedway.3 points

Excuse the correction but Gavan quite clearly said 1 person not Poole speedway. unless of course you think Steve .Shovlar IS Poole speedway3 points

I think the rest of the league are running scared, Poole are on the march, we will beat any team over 2 legs, and all this crap about oil on the track, apparently the tracker broke down after the meeting, lots of sour grapes around tonight, chop chop chop2 points
-
All this crap deflecting from the result. What a win! So easy and so classy! Completely destroyed Kings Lynn. Hope Lynn make the playoffs, so we can do it again. Ruthless Lambert? More like roofless Lambert!2 points
-
So, Lambert's tweet is accurate. Surely he deserves an apology from the Poole fans. He's right, it's a disgrace and illegal to contaminate any grounds with oil. His comments are clearly not about the racing on the track but rider's having to use oil catchers.2 points
-
great meeting, crowd, racing, and result.stayed a while after the meeting chatting and waiting for traffic to clear, seen the oil put down from a container,on entrance to first bend and into the bend, lambert photo it on his way to shower, must help track prep, remember riders always said tracks were good in 50s and60s because of the oil that leaked from the engines2 points
-
Whilst considered an enviromental no no now from a selfish speedway point of view its possibly exactly what this and a few other tracks need to sort out the problems with the material not binding as desired2 points
-
Happened after heat 15 apparently, seems like Lambert is spreading fake news and throwing toys out of the pram ... Very childish2 points

I don't get why folk are surprised, we were written off at the start of the season, had two away wins and suddenly became world beaters, we are basically now riding to what the predictions suggested.2 points
-
Fair comments & I’ll try to be positive. We’ve done really really well to get 1 point from our last 9 away meetings. I’m a work in progress,2 points

I know some rider's and fan's laughed at it but 2nd start line I thought was a great inclusion. With the tires on that line it was so much easier for the start marshall to line rider's up and for the referee to spot the rider rolling forward or back. I don't get why this has been removed this year.2 points

More down to bike issues and being forced to ride at no.1 due to his 2nd Division converted average. He knows his way round the OTA though that's for sure. I'd feel more confident with him in my team than Schlein tonight, put it that way....2 points

Good on the clubs for not bowing to his demands. Too many riders are greedy nowadays and clubs have to be strict on what they spend. You only have to look at Rye House and the shambles they made of over paying riders.2 points

Doyle tweeted saying 14 day rule means he can't ride until Sunday. Very naughty Glasgow...2 points
-
Yes July again. That's the month when he has usually sorted out the bike set-ups and starts flying. Now wouldn't it be sensible if just for once at the end of the season he cleaned the bikes and put them away as they are so he can hit the ground running next March instead of investing in new stuff then struggling for months to get the right set-ups?2 points

im not going to get involved with whose riding or not. Frankly if the riders named wont get people to attend I don't think the addition of Robert lambert would make a difference. However I do think your a bit harsh suggesting this is a hastily arranged friendly. Some thought has gone into this . fans have said they want weekend meetings so they can travel, not miss work or whatever - tick. don't want there riders to miss a league match cos they are representing there country - no Premiership or Championship meetings on Saturday, so tick; want to see riders ride in the UK who currently only race abroad - Tai and Chris, so tick; want to get back home at a reasonable time -3pm start, so tick; want to see proper test matches - tick. so to sum up the Glasgow promoters, the GB and Aussie management have done a brilliant job to get this meeting on, so get your tick(ets) while you can!2 points

Why would they delay the meeting to get a point, when the last two heats should never have been run due to the curfew. They slowed the match down to get it abandoned, with little regard to us fans that had paid to watch their antics. With the meeting restarting at 20.10, six heats were never going to be completed in twenty minutes. They must have got a shock to see it go past cut off time. It's just a shame they got a point for their 'efforts'2 points

A Poole fan has said he saw it tipped out of a container... The "tracker" didn't leak...1 point
-
The track was excellent and the comments frankly are disgraceful. There was no issues at all and to think that if oil was on the track during the meeting the riders of both teams would not have had the ref and officials take a look. Why would we put oil on when we were so far ahead. Kings Lynn just not at the races tonight simple as that . We’ve all had meetings like that when it doesn’t happen and for them tonight it didn’t happen. But to make comments like that is totally out of order and does nothing to enhance a sport that is struggling as it is.1 point

Very disappointing comments from two "professional" top riders.1 point

I read the reasons in Speedway Star and I'm on the same page as you "what rubbish" More locals will go, "really" accommodation more affordable "can we have that in writing" We all know whenever there is an event on at Cardiff that hotel prices go through the roof, Sept 21 will be no different. The business end of the season might cost fans at another GP that has that slot , Cardiff has a solid plus 40 thousand fanbase, other GP's do not.The few more that you might get will be dwarfed by those lost to the football season and even T20 cricket finals day. If the stadium is unavailable in June / July next year then there is no problem with just saying that. Personally I associate Cardiff with being a summer event.1 point

I saw Stoneman race against the only other active Welsh rider I am aware of a few weeks ago - 52 year old Stoke Potter Tony Atkin. Up in Glasgow this weekend anyway for the European Track Cycling Championships and some football so this fixture has made the trip for me.1 point

Not a proper sport, when a club can say "we will close" if they are disciplined. When promoters wield more power than the SCB, how's this happened? Clubs with long-standing traditions have disappeared just by the powering up of a bulldozer and yet these over-grown businessmen want to withdraw because they can't have one over everyone else. The last thing needed is for petulant promoters to start bellyaching when they don't agree with something and threatening to withdraw. Crying wolf is not good. In the end, fans just won't give a damn. You support a team with loyalty and want it to be there as far as you can see, otherwise why bother. Perhaps fans' passions will get directed elsewhere if they're forever hearing their promoters say the speedway team may have to close... again. I know about that, I think it got me in the end at Belle Vue. Perhaps that's one of the reasons I'm more engrossed in the history side now - because I know that has happened. No one can take it away. The future is uncertain.1 point

Speedway is stuck in a rut re starts, referring to the use of tapes. Moto GP and F1 have at least 22 lined up but movement is much less then in speedway. Tapes themselves can flutter due to wind which in itself must “encourage” riders jumping. So transponders need testing, maybe a problem with ruts and shale affecting efficiency so how about a green light start, together with a beam in front and a beam behind to limit movement. But keep them pit gates closed, that in itself would make a big difference.1 point
