  2. Not sure it’s harsh, we (Ged and I ) used the situation to our advantage when building the original 1-7 - knowing that Ben and Lasse’s averages would increase on the first green sheets but allowing a strong top end.

  3. Think this is the average times his bike packs up per lap per meeting
    4 points
  4. Under Ged you just knew he’d take full advantage of being 3 points under the limit and strengthen before the averages changed. Buster? Could end up eating humble pie, but I highly doubt it’s even being looked in to.

  5. Another trip up to Glasgow, a regular now!! A few other Comets fans there also.

  6. I should have clarified my point a little more than I did. He will be, and is, absolutely fine around the wide open spaces of the NSS. It's a safe race track. Away is another matter on circuits that he wont be as confident on, where tight situations on tracks that frankly aren't prepared as well as the national stadium, will occur. Indeed Poole is probably the worst track in the United Kingdom in terms of actual prep, holes, bumps and anything else you may find at Wimborne Road.

  7. We have our own ex-Swindon troll Swindon have taken at least a point in every meeting - home and away including a massive 12 point thumping of Poole at Wimborne Road! Over rated my @rse

  8. They could have also had Chris Harris as well if sticky fingers Chapman had left well alone .

  9. Interesting observation. I've not been to 6 fingers since the Michael Jepsen Jensen win of April 2012 and I've no desire to return. If the EoES doesn't develop from it's gate and go appearance to the addition of the traditional outside runs as well then that's a bit of an issue. I think someone said on the mic last week that they were hopeful that things will improve: they need to. Looking at the club's twitter feed you'd think that it was so exciting that we were racing at Torun.

  10. Yeah, but that’s pretty unforgivable for you, Gav, as you follow Poole so closely!

  11. I think the reality of the last 6 months is that the previous promotion put together an exciting team, that would have ridden the old showground well and have been nailed on for the play offs and a good shot at success. However, they sold the club for reasons best known to themselves. Buster comes in with a whole load of motives, and from that moment the Peterborough fans have been fed whatever information would keep them quiet and content for the longest time until the truth started to come out. The Team started to get dismantled to fix other Suffolk based problems as the current owner is balancing 3 plates not one, and was further dismantled due to an employee thinking he was bigger than the employer. That was never going to work as both sides refused to compromise. Then comes the track. Since press and practise the track was treated to at least 90 tonnes of (Busters finest) mix of clay and granite, which funnily enough is what is primarily on the Kings Lynn track. Shock horror the track now rides very much like Kings Lynn, sucking horsepower and remaining quite grippy all night and not developing an outside line so readily as the inside fails to slicken off as the meeting progresses. The strength of the original team with Wright BWD, Barker and Lasse was always the ability to ride the fence. That is no longer the quickest way round the showground. A forceful move up the inside or a cut back is now the overtake of choice. The final slap in the face was last Monday. Buster apparently spent the day preparing the track for the local derby, and then spent the entire meeting in the pits as the Peterborough owner wearing his Kings Lynn jacket and when asked if he had a Peterborough one simply said, "No" "I'm Kings Lynn through and through" Not sure what we were expecting, but I would have hoped he would either wear the colours of the home team when at home, or remain neutral. Oh hang on a minute, it's Buster Scott Nicholls I would have thought is unlikely to come in. The wage offer won't have changed since the winter. The Riders have (probably) been working harder on getting a replacement rider in to use the extra 3 points more than the owner. There are very much two divisions in the Premiership I would suggest. Best of Busters clubs, and then the real Premiership. I think the biggest problem buster has at the moment is that Ipswich have gone from looking dreadful before the start of the season, to a bit too good for Busters liking and might become a threat. So watch out witches fans, keep looking over your shoulder, you're doing a bit too well right now. One Man is both saving and destroying speedway in equal measure right now.

  12. Yeah, I know exactly what you mean! Thing is, it wasn't just the size; it seemed so open compared to the confines of the basically enclosed Plough Lane. Of course, I could say the same about most tracks, other than Wembley! Back to Hackney, and one of the things I will always remember was getting a stick of rock at the end-of-season Bonanza Best Pairs! Like E I Addio said though, while we had our allegiances, and obviously our opinions of other tracks, I would give anything to have those tracks back now. Not just that, I would love to have them back just as they were back then... Steve

  13. And in other news another away meeting and another point gained. You have to feel worried if Swindon are ‘over-rated’ as no team comes close to them so far. If one of the reserves click or changes are made then it’s nearly full advantage the Robins. Another good result for the Robins.

  14. Agree with Buttons - on the face of it to keep it to 10 at Wolves doesnt seem a bad result but with the scores from 3 as low as they were it seems a missed opportunity....

  15. I agree with this. If you look at the posts after the match had finished you will find several posts about the track, the result and individual riders.

  16. sad to say that is what speedway seems to be about these days Seems this year the Lions will be there or thereabouts come end of the season, will take some beating over two legs in a playoff situation if they can all stay fit

  17. I’m no Lambert fan but if he scored four points from number seven that would be a job well done. Nobody who has moaned either on here or social media has yet been able to come up with a better guest which I think says it all.

  20. Not taking any chances then, will make the play-offs. Even money bet when 4 out of 7 qualify. In my opinion, with only 7 in the league, top team should go straight through to Final & 2 & 3 ride for the remaining place.

  21. Love his way of working or detest it. It's Buster. He will succeed in driving a number of speedway fans away from The Showground just as he has from Saddlebow Rd. And sadly I feel that he is completely unaware that that is the case. He can see only the "saving" aspect and is oblivious to the destroying part. But destroy it he will.

  22. Piotr Pawlicki said in interview yesterday that after PZMot punished him and he is missing GP/SEC qualifications, he is looking for a team in GB. Who will be fast enough to sign him?

  23. You can't win with the weather! I thought that the crowd was only about half that for the previous meeting so perhaps in similar circumstances a postponement to another Saturday might be a better bet. I thought that the racing yesterday was much closer than we have been used to with fewer strung out races although there were occasions when we had two races in one - one at the front and one at the back. Ryan Douglas's fall in heat 3 didn't do his shoulder any favours and he struggled after that. Ellis Perks did really well although I think an appearance in heat 15 was a ride too many. I don't know how Josh Bates managed to stay on his bike in one race - the other three riders must have thought 'best to keep out his way'. All in all a very positive start to the season for the Lions - does anyone know when a Leicester team last won 6 out of the first seven competitive meetings?

  24. That's the one , and he would have been this year too , but for the nonsense at Peterborough . He will be again before too much longer no doubt

  25. There has to be a delay in implementing new averages to allow for teams to be declared for meetings, guests booked, programmes printed etc. A new team line-up needs to be at the BSPA for approval 72 hours before becoming valid.

  26. The same criticism was being aimed at Cook on here during his last season at Armadale . The response from your end of the M8 was a bit different then .

  27. Would be expecting Sedgmen to pushing for the 3rd heat leader role in the side but with the start to the season he’s had he’s not really cutting at 2nd string at the moment, hopefully his form picks up soon. wells still doesn’t seem his normal self but does seem to be improving as each meeting goes by, Joel has been steady and doing the job expected of him tbh along with Luke. Heeps and Josh have been a joy to watch so far this season and long may that continue. Willie either needs to buy new machinery or move on it’s really as simple as that imo, on a 4 point average in this league this season against some of the guys that are in the league this year he really should be cleaning up.

  28. Would like to put a couple of things into perspective for people on here. When turning up at the track at 8 in the morning when aloud to get in the stadium, bends 1/2 and the back straight going into bend 3 where completely underneath water, which took 3 hours to clear with a pump. Then on track prep when actually being able to get a tractor on track, we had a wonder wheel which snapped while trying to air the track out so that was one of the many issues we had to deal with in the day. Next issue was one tractor while on track the hydraulics went so was unable to fit any proper grader on the back of it. Just another one of many issues we had to deal with. But the biggest of once actually being able to dry the track out and getting it level and being lucky to even have a meeting on, the water boweser broke so we was unable to fill it with water as water was coming out faster than we could fill it. But considering we didn’t get any dust till about heat 12 and there as only 14/15 in the meeting I don’t think it was to bad. Also on the grading part if you keep grading all the time and pulling the dirt over the slick it drys it out move and without a water bowser we could only do so much so hopefully that puts and end to alll this slating with all the hard work we put into getting a meeting on for you yesterday. Come next week the issues will all be sorted and you will see a great race track. Thank you all and see you next week thanks a member of track staff!

  30. We should have emptied Lawson before his GSA plummeted from 4 to 3 as now, the likes of the Aussie 4 pt free agents, List & MacDonald cannot be signed as direct replacements. It was apparent from the opening matches that Oor Wullie is quite happy to turn out on crap equipment and after seeing the same thing in his late 2018 comeback, the Monarchs management still seem paralysed from making a change. Re Sedgmen, given his poor performances in the UK in 2018 and his indifferent performances in Oz during the Winter, I was surprised he was Monarchs first confirmed signing for 2019 on a starting GSA that he was/is unlikely to reach, and thereby made it difficult to track two 7+ heat leaders as most other ambitious teams have done. If it's the same team on Friday, expect Berwick to brush us aside without too much resistance.

  31. We were rather rubbish, need sedgy to find a bit of form don’t know how much longer I can put up watching Lawson. On a slightly different note watching cook today win his races with rather ease other than it doing good to his bank balance how is beating all these guys in a watered down league helping him with his aspirations to become a GP rider once again

  32. While fans are happy enough to pay to watch an understrength team Chapman will be quite happy to sit back and take your money. I know he's not getting any of mine.

  33. Fair to say that by anybody’s standards he has acted somewhat unprofessional & childish in a number of instances. That said, this year his riding had been very good and his demeanour appears to be that of a fast maturing young man. With a caring manager keeping him in check and focussed on learning his trade Josh could really step up this season. Good luck to the lad. Hope he stays fit and goes from strength to strength.

  34. Interesting to read in the SS the other week that Leicester's Saturday crowds in the 'second division' are up on the Monday crowds they got in the Premiership.. No GP 'superstars' riding there this year yet crowds are up? As you say, a Friday or a Saturday would get you at least 600 more I would say,... Twenty meetings, 600 extra, would equate to 12000 more fans.. At £18 that's over £200k more revenue... As you say, a great product, but not much use having something so good to sell if your opening times prevent customers from getting there.. Doesnt help itself Speedway sometimes does it?

  35. Doesnt shock anyone really, its been generally said that he would ensure that Lynn get priority, what the hell he did at Ipswich the night Lynn got a real thumping no one will ever know but if he did something it sure didnt work. Takes you back to the Bob Dugard tractor grading of gates antics.

  37. I think you should read through the posts again because a few of us have said it was a good match, but there is never anyone on a Leicester topic who actually goes into a great deal of detail about individual rider performances or heat details. If you support the Lions perhaps you can do it?

  38. As Brum has said Nicholls could replace anyone prior to 1st May but after then it's only possible for him to replace Tungate or Hans which I can't see happening

  43. Maybe they should run all the GPs on that track.

  44. Yes i know what you mean. We aren't a million miles away from a good side. We scored 37 points today from 5 riders so if we can get two riders to chip in with a few each and that would make all the difference.

  45. Exactly. Wolves full team is better than Swindon imo. Though both prob be in the playoff final.

  48. This is why I dislike this competition. It's starts at the beginning of the season and it's usually October by the time the final gets raced , absolute farce IMHO it should be scrapped and teams should race each other twice home and away .

  49. May aswell call it off now then. Forecasts are final.
