  1. Comments made by Middleditch in last weeks SS about the dusty track took some believing saying that the riders should talk to the track curator. Does he think his job as a manager of the team shouldn’t include making sure the track is fit for purpose!

  2. No, shame on the xenophobe for suggesting there isn't a 'genuine' Brit in the GP.

  3. Belle vue fans always have s fee fans who attend Poole, myself 1 of them but with it being so early in season I think, like me most will attend in the summer months when its warmer and weather is more predictable, Its nothing tondo with thr state of the track. While it's not great at the moment in general thenpoole track is one of thr best. And if they ever do sort it then it will be up there with the best in UK Should imagine pooles crowds are alot bigger in summer months with holiday goers and away fans making the most of a few days away at the beach.

  5. The stage that the promotion sets for today’s speedway matches at Poole is a shambles. The days of great racing where you would leave the stadium with “your head on fire” are long gone. The track is a mess (and has been for a number of years) and the racing is bordering on non existent and boring. Not sure I can put up with this for much longer!!

  6. I can`t get hold of Ghostie- hope you are ok, so i will start the Swedish thread for this season. With there being 9 teams in the league in 2019 there are 5 matches most weeks spread over Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Tuesday May 7th Piraterna v Smederna Masarna v Indianerna Lejonen v Rospiggarna Vastervik v Vetlanda Thursday May 9th Dackarna v Smederna I will post line-ups for the Tuesday matches on Sunday evening and the Thursday match on Tuesday evening The best TV viewers can hope for in week 1 is delayed coverage on Freesports at 10.15 pm on Thursday- all the TV matches this season are on Thursday`s. Nothing yet on any Polish TV channels for Thursday

  14. Perks, Mountain; Thomas ; Morley; Bowtell ; Brennan ; Wood - a great advertisement for the National Development League and far better for both sides to promote British talent (Perks raised in Oz I know). Their battles will likely influence result more than heat leaders.

  17. Fair play Gladiators i definitely got that wrong. Campos still has it, a delight to see Wilson rolling back the years with a fine display and expected Stoneman to go very well but still not that well. IOW had the power scoring reserves running out 12-4 winners and Danno Verge getting over his ave and still lose. Morley can have an off night but not many with the way the team is built whilst a night on for Widman would be a plus. Finally best wishes to Jamie Bursill hope it was a precaution and nothing serious.

  19. It's a pain in the backside with Speedway Star not publishing the times this year, but here is what you want, in heat order. 58.81; 59.53; 59.79; 58.47; 58.50; 58.31; 59.22; 60.16; 59.16; 59.25; 58.88; 58.97; 59.87; 59.16 and 59.25

  21. NO , its because i like to give everyone a chance . i have a different outlook to what you have . fans expect an awful lot from other humans . its easy to pay your £16 or so and be the best supporter in the crowd. riding a bike and risking it all is a thing i would not like to do . how about you . are you a dare devil . can you eat wholemeal bread without butter on ? i bet you dunk biscuits in tea cos they are too hard to take on without being softened up first .give riders a chance . workington did with young Kyle Bickley in 18 and its now Glasgow who are getting the benefit from that .OH , to be perfect .

  22. Belle Vue have never brought a coach to Poole in decades. Rob B used to organise a mini bus but since he got married that now doesn’t seem to happen. Didn’t see a single BV fan there tonight. But guess they know they were in for a spanking.

  23. Back to the nitty gritty of the Championship Shield with hopefully a nice big win for the home side. With all teams in group now starting to win their home fixtures, that away win at Newcastle could be the one that sways it for us to reach the semi-final stage. Matty Wethers guests for the injured Jye Etheridge, with r/r being used for NBJ on Danish Championship duty. My predictions have not been bad so far this season Berwick to win it 52-38.

  25. Was fortunate enough to be at the Zielona Gora and Leszno meetings last week (Poznan SEC meeting in between). Amazing atmosphere at both league meetings, racing brutal at times. Wonderful presentation. No ridiculous guests or tracks full of holes or oil leaking onto the track. The whole experience reminds you that speedway can be taken seriously if presented properly.

  26. Correct.. Sadly another one of those "let's make it up as we go along" 'rules' that means the Sport (in the UK) can never be taken seriously, and will continue to spin along in ever decreasing circles... For me, having Scott Nicholls riding is 100% OK as he is replacing an injured rider (just like in 'proper sports' where they would replace someone injured), but, as always in Speedway (UK Speedway), there will always be an inconsistency of applying the 'rules/subjective opinion' which renders most situations ludicrous when finally implemented.. 'They' truly never, ever learn...

  29. It seems that GA and myself are being "challenged" to respond to the earlier post, si can I say that I am not and never have been, involved in any way in the administration or the operation of the Birmingham forum. I am a regular poster on this, but nothing more. I have no problem at all with anyone having differing opinions to myself - or in them airing them! I do know the people who run the forum though. They are genuine, fair-minded people and have never banned anyone for their views - only when their comments are either offensive or personal - and this seems to be the norm with all club's supporters' forums. The Brummies performance last Wednesday was deplorable - it doesn't require an expect to recognise that, and it is also clear that much better performances will be required if the team is to make any impression at all this season. Having said this though, we have had, discounting the opening meeting with Wolverhampton, which none of us expected to win, two home meetings, both against what I feel are a couple of the League's stronger clubs, one of which produced a narrow defeat from what the majority of supporters agree was a creditable effort, and one pretty awful showing last Wednesday, so it is hardly fair to rubbish the whole team on the strength of just two matches? Personally, I think the make up of our team is very fragile and that we will need all seven of our team to at least ride to form if we are going to register a few wins, but I'm prepared to give all the riders a reasonable chance so whilst there will be a few ready to throw in the towel after two meetings, I hope the majority will do likewise. If that's "blinkered" or "towing the management line" then so be it!

  38. Ive just checked 3 different weather forecasts for 'springburn, glasgow' and all three predict it will be dry tonight with a slight chance of a shower over lunchtime. It will be chilly so look out the red and white scarves and hats that have been put away for the summer, you might need them .

  39. Having watched Danny struggle all last year I would suggest he was given a huge chance and sadly he didn't improve at all and in many ways went backwards. I understand his previous injury had a bearing on this but from cannot understand why anyone thought there would be a huge improvement. regarding kyle he was given time to improve and develop in a strong team that won everything which is undoubtedly easier than in a team that has a couple of riders not performing constantly.

  40. I try to be neither a “half full or half empty” type of individual but, just say it as I see it. I am however a long time motorcyclist and there are three things you try and avoid when riding your motorcycle 1/ idiot car drivers, 2/ manholes, 3/ potholes. Fortunately, the former are either not allowed on the Poole track or, built into the track. However, there is an abundance of potholes, all of which can and should be sorted. Why oh why don’t the Poole promotion focus on making the Poole track the best in the country and, in doing so give us decent elbow to elbow racing. If then trophies happen because we can deliver decent competitive, no excuse racing, that’s the icing on the cake.

  42. Look on their website I found one off the Fixtures page (Premier Inn about 1 1/2 miles from track) and did flexi booking so you can cancel up to 1pm on day which is ideal if rain off. That was Good Friday/Easter weekend so may still be availability for non Bank Holiday. My mate mailed them too I think its admin@eastbourne-speedway.com and got a list of 5-6 places in the town and got fixed up on sea front., was very impressed with Guest House and also the help he got.

  44. The story of speedway across the UK if it were ever looked at objectively from the outside. It's beyond rare for me to go home after a match at King's Lynn with " my head on fire" with excitement. Perhaps when Robert Lambert first rode for the Young Stars and I still talk about those matches. Yes, the odd good race since but whole exciting matches - No! FTG rules the roost and hence existing fans continue to melt away and new fans are truly rarer than hen's teeth. The KL tracks looks good but provides little or no racing nowadays. So, yes, "bordering on non-existent and boring" is a good description when talked about with no spin. Me too. Not sure I can put up with it for much longer and am thus on the verge of joining the ranks of ex-fans in the stadium. Still love the GPs on TV and what I can see of Polish racing ( on YouTube ).

  48. Ive known Anders since he could hardly sit on a bike, from his early days at Weymouth. Over the last 2 weeks, Ive watched him ride at Plymouth,Kent, Berwick and Somerset. Good performances everywhere except Berwick, where most struggled anyway. By far his best was at Somerset.Always in the mix doing a great job at reserve. Pleased for him and enjoyed chatting with his grandparents too. I agree that Rebels should stick with the reserves all season. They will only get better.
