  2. I have said all along the problem is cutting the team average down to a ridiculous level , it now means riders are thrown in against riders they have no chance against based on there average rather than there ability. It will do more harm than good when the distinct possibility of some of these young riders chucking it due to there confidence being shot to bits , they should have been allowed to progress at there own pace rather than thrown in at the deep end with next to no chance of doing anything As for Chessell this just highlights the average watering down, if they had been the 42 they should he would have been nowhere near a CL reserve position as is the case with most.

  3. 95% that's a lot who don't know or care you won't win the league if you can't win away from home

  4. Don't bother going to Leicester then because there were at least 4 there tonight and sorry to disappoint you but no dog poo and no barking. You always know someone is losing the argument when they resort to stupid comments like taking a dog to the cinema . Speedway attendances of a few hundred people standing on a grassy bank as against thousands seated at a Football match is another daft comment not really worthy of a reply.

  6. perhaps Torun can use Bartosz Zmarzlik next week? After another couple of wonderful days of Polish action, trust British Speedway to bring us all down to earth with it's utterly farcical rules, which we insist are a necessary evil, even though no other Speedway league in the world employs them!

  7. Don't think any of us sitting at a keyboard is in any position to mock a rider who has come back from such a serious injury. He gave it a shot and hats off to him for having the balls to do it. But it was best for all concerned he stepped down.

  8. Oh no your back dividing up people into fans and supporters, anyway that`s rubbish. With these new fangled things such as social media and internet it is easier than ever to see and scrutinise our meetings home and away and see what riders is scoring what, if you think people are only interested in what Berwick do at home then you are wrong.

  10. Pretty good meeting in far from ideal conditions it was so bitterly cold tonight. At least the rain stayed away. Would not have expected Sweden to win it, but Lindgren rode superbly and Ljung after a slow beginning did improve sufficiently during the meeting. Poland would still have won but for that last heat 3-3 against Germany, when local reserve Michael Härtel's single point against Patryk Dudek became the saviour for the German team and the match winner for Sweden. There was some decent racing on this track tonight, but the attendance was less than what it usually is for big meetings at this track, due to the uncertain and unpleasant weather conditions.

  12. Having now caught up with the heat, I believe it was simply a racing accident with no blame on any rider. Zagar didn’t do anything dirty, just rode out to stop Doyle coming around him. Unfortunately the rider in white was leaning on Doyle and he was the sandwich filling, straightening up and taking himself and the other rider into the fence. Trouble was the bike gave him a big bash. Wishing a speedy recovery.

  13. Nothing unlucky about it Lawson must be hanging his head in shame. For those that were not there Eastbourne led by 3 points and just wanted two from the last heat. Lawson made the gate and Nicholls nibbled at him all the way opening up a gap between them and Worrell who was having his battle with Kennett, on the third lap coming out of bend 4 Lawson hit the fence but bounced off and kept the lead, on the last lap coming out of bend 4 again he did exactly the same thing but this time fell with just a few yards to go thus giving the Lions a 5-1 to win the match. Knowing we only needed second to win the match why on earth did he not stick to a safe line even if Nicholls got the drive to beat him to the finish. The crowd were stunned and I think I still am P.S must congratulate the Lions on choice of Guest, first time at the track he was superb.

  15. Don’t know but at least he’s an asset, worth bugger all, but never the less an asset, Nice to see Danny win heat 2, just shows how clueless Rogers is

  16. To be honest I haven't seen any posts that are out of order, sadly for him Chessell has found life in the Championship very hard and that has seem him scoreless and tailed off in most races, no good for rider or club. Time away and a few good scores in the NL will do him the World of good and you never know maybe another chance in the Championship.

  19. Lambert's ability was made long before he joined the championship, even before the NL... Probably when the Germans gave him a chance when Britain didn't... Because he was 'too young' Same goes for the Spillers (Either one being a nice number 7 rider?)

  20. Not mocking him at all, he’s had a year out and wasn’t good enough for Championship before his injury never mind after it? But it just doesn’t seem fair to me, should be any 2.00 not currently in a 1-7 imo but as they say, thems the rules.

  21. Thanks for the tip , I will avoid Leicester then. as for " losing the argument " and " stupid comments " , your comments seem pretty stupid as well

  22. Couldn’t disagree with a post more, what sort of ambition is that? What would you prefer Someone scoring 12 from 5 at home in 55-35 wins and 0 from 3 away in 49-41 defeats Or Someone scoring 7 from 4 at home in 50-40 wins and 5 from 4 away in 46-44 wins? I know what gets you more league points and trophies. You’re still winning on a weekly basis at home?

  23. Luke Ruddick guesting in place of Chessell. It was a case of when and not if he decided to step down as he was so far off the pace.

  24. Got to say I thought tonights meeting was brilliant i think the light showers helped prepare a perfect consistent track for the riders to produce some good close racing. Thank you to the Eastbourne team for finally giving the Leicester public a competitive meeting to watch & but for the final 3 heats it was close.

  25. Why wouldn't you take 'em to speedway? I'm sure they would like Dean Barker, Tai Woofinden, Terrier Betts, and the like. Not forgetting Lassie Bjerre, or most of the Great Danes, actually... Steve

  26. Apologies if this has been done before, I'm a bit a bit in and out of the forum these days.... I'm regaining my passion for the sport (it was severely damaged by the temporary closure of Brandon). As a result, I've started to travel to more meetings but I want to take all of my family, including my boy, Lenny (greyhound cross). The hard bit is trying to determine which tracks will let Lenny in. Many team websites don't say one way or the other. So, can we assemble our own list for the benefit of dog owning fans please? I've started my list below and will edit this as this wonderful group post further information. Yes Berwick Coventry Eastbourne Edinburgh Leicester Ipswich Isle of Wight King's Lynn Peterborough Plymouth Poole Redcar Rye House Scunthorpe Somerset Stoke No Belle Vue Glasgow Newcastle Sheffield Sittingbourne (Kent) Swindon Wolverhampton

  27. Well, each team having a contracted no 8 from the Championship would be a stsrt now there's no race night clash. Effectively you are then employing a squad system. I mean, Torun wont replace Doyle with a rider of equal standing from their squad will they, so they will be weakened by it. It's part and parcel of credible sport.

  31. Zager doing a victory laps of wheelies..... don't know how I feel about that after what happened to Doyle.

  32. Looked like a three into one scenario which you see often on the first bend, but unfortunately Doyle took a very heavy fall. Presumably we'll go R/R tomorrow night.

  33. Don't think the 28 day ban will bother him too much, probably a good thing in the long run to take at least that length of time away from it to try and sort his head out in what he wants to do in the long run.

  34. Would Glasgow go back and give Joe Lawlor another shot, unlikely but he seems the best rider out there at the minute.

  35. Yes, but a rider like Luke coming back from serious injury was always going to find it difficult and not to be mocked. It can't be easy for any rider in that position Anyway my mother always said if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything.

  36. Seriously?! Apart from 3 or 4 heats I thought the whole meeting was very processional, boring gate and go and in front of smallish crowd. You could tell from Woffy's studio comments that he wasn't exactly enthralled by it either!! Faster races don't mean better racing.

  39. Simon Walker was another like that at Somerset. I think one season he was upwards of 8.50 at home and about 4.00 away from home. He would ride round the boards and beat anyone at home from the back quite often too and was great to watch. He became a real fans favourite because of that.

  42. Got to expect that the Stars will put up a better fight this time but confident the Witches can still pull off a win by around 10 points Also looking forward to the youth championship that follows - will be the first time Ive seen the majority of those taking part and will be interesting to see hopefully a future world champion within the field......

  43. Good meeting with entertaining racing. Superb last bend pass by Jordan Stewart to pass Jake Allen Great to see Jack Smith get 6 points with a tough heat 12 against two heat leaders but still on pace with them. Charles Wright was immaculate. Excellent score from Danny Ayres... Look forward to my next visit
