I’m much happier watching premiership speedway this season - would have preferred Louis to still be the owner and buster not involved but I understand why he couldn’t take all the financial risks himself at the time. He’s got a buy back clause so fingers crossed the season is successful and he’s able to justify the risk to take back full control!4 points

Thanks for the update. The crowds seem quite a bit down on last year. I think it’s a combination of the wrong race night (they should have reverted back to Fridays in the lower league it kick started the weekend and had a feel good factor) and the wrong team - no crowd favourites - Wright Allen or BWD . I understand they have also removed or capped the OAP concession (there were always a lot of seniors at Somerset) and this may have turned away quite a few away who are now maybe picking their meetings. Add in the woeful presentation and it’s no surprise the crowds are down. The only thing constant is it’s still a cracking race track and regularly produced excellent speedway races. I had been a regular for 6 years up to the change in race nights to Weds which due to work commitments now means I can’t attend (we used to go as a family of 5) we can now only attend the odd meeting when I’m on leave. It’s also very quiet on the forum from Rebels fans this season - where has everyone gone ???3 points

Lisa, have you got a thing for Gavlar ? Cos you don’t half spend a lot of time replying to him. Just saying like3 points

There may be others I haven't seen but I know that Craig Cook is being very supportive of Taylor on Twitter and Instagram. Good to see and typical of Craig. Those photographers involved in the disgusting behaviour should be ashamed of themselves. It says a lot about them and about the quality of Taylor's work if they're jealous of the competition.3 points

He’s a nice kid. Always pleasant when I see him. If these other photographers are jealous of him and his work perhaps they need to give it up. They have accused him of not originating his own work saying it’s his fathers! They’ve developed their own hashtag on twitter #amow (all my own work) as a bitchy dig at the kid. These ‘men’ by the way are 50+ years old! Times change and move on - Speedway Photographry has too and it’s about the youth. The old guys need to go off and do something else if they can’t hack it. I just hope this bullying doesn’t have any adverse effects on the boy. As a pensioner myself I love to see youth prosper and wish him all the best.3 points

So the riders club fans are discussing it which is what YOU have said. So going by your theory POOLE fans should discuss Worrall, and reserves?? So are you a POOLE fan now then? Discuss it all you like but it is strange you are scared to say your opinion to someone that you are quite happy to say on here? Mr keyboard warrior!!2 points

Very sad to read last few comments, no OAP concession is just one reason I have not returned, don't want to pay more for less, also the presentation has not been good for many years, when I used to attend. There used to be an atmosphere in the early days, but fun things like the jingles and rider music when they won, I asked Deb about it once but was told you are the only one that wants it changed. Also the interval, sometimes 15 minutes or more just when things were close and exciting with 3 heats to go, you were left standing around, not everyone wants more chips. The music is rubbish at all the speedway tracks I have been to, must be something about paying royalties for anything that's not 20 years old. The loudspeaker system needs to be better but that costs money and there may be a problem about neighbours complaining, however appropriate music creates an atmosphere that's why you get music in cinema films and TV programs, and playing old Elvis and country music adds nothing. Somerset obviously don't want to lose money, but other tracks who don't own there own stadium seem to manage somehow, so assume Somerset better off than some. No excuse for the weeds other than you have to pay someone to maintain the place.2 points

Lisa if it’s rubbish, as you state, why do you bother replying? It really does seem as though you have a hidden agenda.2 points

Just seems you do tend to court Gavlar’s attention a lot of the time. Maybe it’s just me and nobody else has noticed. If I’m wrong I sincerely apologise.2 points

Well without 12 good men and true we will never have a ‘guilty’ verdict. However you would think the two Masons would be out there knocking back these rumours. What can you hear ? ....., Quack Quack ?2 points

Agreed. You obviously don’t want to see ANY rider injured, but in terms of the team, he’s the one we’re going to miss on track the most at the moment. Bates is a decent choice though so it’ll be interesting to see how he gets on.2 points

Would a face time call be sufficient ? or do i need to go up to Manchester to tell him ? Is it just Richie or does this new rule apply to any rider ?2 points

I said at the start of the season that this team will shock a few teams. Last night proved one thing that Bellego & Pieszczek can't ride together. Big loss Jake missing Monday as he is number 1 in the averages this year.2 points

Who exactly at the stadium confirmed this then ? You Argos are a complete liar and have zero substance to back up your claims. You may be correct but you are guessing you have spoke to absolutely no one. This thread is more to have another dig at Lawrence Rogers (who i am no fan of) who we know you hate. But this decision has nothing to do with him it would be in no way his call to make .2 points

Personally I sit uncomfortably with the memory Gary Guglielmi and the subsequent suicide of Billy Sanders. I can't seperate one from the other. However I wish the event well.2 points

Interesting to read that there could be some development in the future use of Rye House as a speedway venue again, although this is very much on hold at present, I do believe in my own mind that speedway will return there at some point as long as the track remains in situ. Meanwhile over the border here in Essex, everything has gone quite, the previous limited company running the speedway has gone bankrupt, no word from Stuart Douglas former owner on why he decided to no longer keep putting money in or why riders like Kim Nillsen were never paid moneys that had been owed to them for some time, Jon Cook is back at Eastbourne and if you had been living on the moon for the past decade or so, would never have had an inkling he had been part of the Essex club, no word also on any news on the development of the former site, we have seen a statement that some of the people behind the scenes at Lakeside want to start a new club under the banner of Thurrock but whether that is purely a pipe dream no one knows, but to me it feels like the club has been quickly forgotten.1 point

Tonight’s qualifying added something worthwhile to the GP weekend and the reward of skill/speed to determine gate positions during the main event is favourable to the random draw. That said it is a shame three riders were unavailable (not their choice) and clearly there was an advantage to those who went out first and after the mid session grading. There are most probably better ways qualifying can be formatted to create a fairer scenario but it’s s start.1 point

You have absolutely nothing to apologise for .Some people are just pathetic and cannot take an opinion that differs to theirs. If people disagree that can reply with why they should not look to replace them ,but guess what ? no one has so that tells you all you need to know. A certain poster loves calling people names for no reason love playing the victim .Petulant attitude from someone who has probably never heard the word NO in their lives.1 point

Practice (now qualifying) for GPs has not been compulsory for some years. Woffinden, Zmarzlik and Fricke were missing this evening, and were 'randomly'* allocated the final three start positions this evening. * The rider number was drawn, then allocated to the smallest available start number.1 point

That's why premier league football clubs try to block mobile phone signals when the game kicks off. They don't want normal fans taking and posting unlicensed photos on the web whilst the match is in progress. It's all about protecting their image rights.1 point

My understanding is that the 17 year old would have to have an official license to take pictures and publish. If he has then it’s not an issue. I know at Birmingham there are 3 sometimes 4 photographers all official. A valid point would be if he doesn’t have the required license.1 point

Yep, I agree. Their love of the Tories always shines through, unless you actually believe the tripe printed in the conservative-biased press (mail, sun, telegraph, Times etc.)?1 point

Is the Belle Vue team really that poor? Fricke/bjerre about as good a 1/5 as anyone in the league, Steve Worrall one of the best 2nd strings, bewley only getting better as he grows in strength and confidence returning from injury, Lidsey only going to get better and a potential trump card by the latter half of the season!! berge has always blown hot and cold never could understand him being on so many fans wishlists in the winter and Wells has underperformed so far but a better rider than he’s shown for sure. find a decent replacement for berge and maybe wells if he doesn’t get going and you’ll be right up there - even without changes you’ll comfortably be in the playoffs imo1 point

Do they use the same setup at Lynn as Robert, I doubt it co's all engines have are different , compression, fly, wheels, cam ect, it's not rocket science,1 point

Could be that his stuff is just so much better. It seemed good enough for the Daily Star last week and I’m sure they have a high bar. Not sure how you can excuse trolling and bullying behaviour from grown men based on their pictures not being used.1 point

Did you go tonight Gavan? Did you say to Richie's face it should be his last meeting? No thought not..1 point

My question would be Why don't the FIM state if you miss practice you're out of the GP. With a 28 day ban from riding in any league. Our Polish friends would then stop arranging league matches the night before a GP.1 point

Honestly Being a "Tad" misogynistic there mind JJ aren't we? As this is predominantly a male run sport why are they not behaving "like a silly man"? and I appreciate the post was started by a female which is beside the point as a woman can behave like a silly man? can't they? May be if there were a few more women in the sport at the top end (management committee) (or as promoters) it may be run more professionally rather than "like a select little boys club" as it appears to be being run at present; as believe me there are just as many "Silly Men" out there as there are "Silly Women" if not more!!! Sheffield and Somerset for two have women promoters (formally Workington as well) who have more common sense and integrity than many of their male counterparts doing the same role that is for sure... Whoever starts a post male or female if they believe they have a valid point, question or query how ever daft you may feel it is we surely need to respect? defend? their right to put over that question not deride them? Regards THJ1 point

Think that was a tongue in cheek comment I don’t think any of us really think we’re going to win the title this year. All most of us wanted in our first season back in the top flight was to see some good racing, and to be competitive and so far we’ve succeeded on both counts.1 point

From watching Boro and Ipswich at Swindon the Panthers were unlucky to lose 46-44.Witches didn't look as good..beaten comfortably. Andersen is no number 1 now. And they were fortunate to use r/r for Bjerre.1 point

Even as a Stars fan i'm pleased to see the Witches doing well and by reports, the crowds are up as well. Always good to hear no matter if it is the enemy I think Louis may well buy the club back at some point. Maybe Louis didn't want to take the risk moving up, and he didn't have to. But this way it helps save the Prem and BT deal for now, and Chris hasn't took a risk. He may well stay in the Prem when he buys the club back, just a matter of when and not if I think. It seems to be working for both so far. I hope someone buys the Panthers pretty quick . No one seems happy. But Buster has spent 5 figures on shale and equipment so i'm thinking he had plans for the Showground, but after all the stick he's getting, I hope he sells the club asap.1 point

How on earth have we got from Jason Garrity no showing/being fined to Edinburgh always cancelling second halves? This place sometimes.1 point

Apart from all the "apparentlys", you only have to look back at all the other "facts" in all his previous posts which turned out to be pure fiction, to see he's just a troll with a downer on Belle Vue. Must be awful to be that bitter. But at least his made up stories give us a laugh.1 point
