Absolutely FABULOUS, well done Witches and Stars fans: Ipswich Speedway Supporters Club 2 hrs · What can we say, we've only just gone and beaten last year's total for the Benevolent Fund collection. Tonight your donations totalled a fantastic £2,361 93. A heartfelt thank you to each and everyone of you who contributed. It really is a fantastic amount.8 points

Great advert for National League speedway and makes the recent comments about this standard of speedway by John Cook look very foolish.Racing wise it was much better than the recent televised match at Poole.Credit to both teams with some very good young riders on show.7 points

THE hilarious thing is that he's not even a good troll. To troll well you have to give biased opinion, which people may disagree with, but they can't say you're wrong, because it's a matter of opinion. But this troll makes up stuff that is easily verifiable as untrue, and makes himself look a complete plank. What's most hilarious is when he follows up his made up nonsense with the word "FACT" in capitals. But he's given me a great laugh today with the "I know this is true because I know someone who is a mate of a photographer!" On that basis I have a direct line to the Glaziers as I know someone whose nephew is going out with a girl who works behind one of the bars at Old Trafford.4 points

Think its worth in the cold light of day giving Dickie a special mention for last nights performance Since his move to No1 he really has stepped up. The poor night at Lynn on Monday couldve caused some to doubt. Instead he was determined to make amends and did it and more besides4 points

Looks at Ipswich, their top 5 struggle & they’ve Heeps & Allen who bail them out. It’s my opinion on the issue so that’s how I see it. Whenever teams have won leagues it’s because they generally have a strong reserve.3 points

I guess Johnson must have sent the ref a text when Panthers replaced Bates with Wells in heat 103 points

Popped along last night. Very good result for the Witches, even better that the Stars ended up with nothing despite it being pretty tight until the end. However the 'racing' was dire. All decided by the second bend apart from three occasions, when Cook barged his way past Heeps in the last heat, Lawson nipping past Lambert whilst he was looking round for King and the best race of the night, the battle for third between Jorgensen and Procter in heat three, half a straight behind the Witches pair. Anyone trying a blast round the outside simply went backwards, just one line, follow the leader stuff. It meant yet another long drive home feeling that I hadn't been entertained and why did I bother. Good results are important but the racing has got to be the main reason for going. If it was just about the result you might as well sit at home and use the excellent update service.2 points

I think you are misunderstanding me slightly... A lot of people on here think the racing was better back then, and that racing today is crap. I'm not one of them. While the sport WAS better (well, British speedway, anyway!), a lot of that was due to the crowds and the atmosphere. What I am saying is that today, even good races don't seem that good when you have a crowd of 47 people and two dogs, and you have a better atmosphere in a morgue... I won't necessarily say the racing was "closer", but it was a lot more unpredictable. If you watch some of the stuff on YouTube, you will see that riders hit grip and speed up, or hit a rut and slow down; the gaps between riders would change suddenly. Now, with ultra-fast machinery on ultra-slick tracks, that doesn't happen. Back then, a big part of the enjoyment was watching the riders fight with their bikes in the dirt! Steve2 points

Do not forget the Sprockets - Kent meeting on Sunday £10 for 50+ races starting at 4pm, meeting thread in NL section.2 points

You posted as if there was some doubt that you had posted something then got a reply of proof! You really are a "prized plum" as THJ has called you.2 points

We all hope it will be but don't know how you can be certain it will be sorted considering how many years they have had to sort it out.2 points

I tend to think and fear Tobi is a bit optimistic on his recovery time...it's a tricky one for us2 points

Awesome Lawson was an extremely popular rider at Lakeside, one of the most popular we have ever had because he never gives up even when it’s not his night, I always look out for his scores and do intend getting along to a Ipswich home match at some point, it’s a canny team they have there and it’s about time Witches had something to cheer about.2 points

The riders you have brought in have been terrific, Perks has done very well, can't remember him scoring less than his average since he joined but if you have another low scoring reserve it will put to much pressure on the top 5 in my opinion, you need at least one reserve who will win heat 2 on a regular basis. The other problem is Jensen's average will shoot up when he has done the required amount of meetings so the team needs to be changed before that happens.2 points

For me an absolute classic of a match. Terrific meeting. Terrific debut for connor. As coldace says. Yesterday was full of English 16/17/18 years olds. All going at it hammer and tongs. No inches given. Best £10 ever spent.2 points

Ha! Bates is another hyped up, totally over rated rider. Never took to him. For me he is a throttle jockey and has no craft or talent on the bike. He is also short fused. Not a good combination.2 points

Really sets up Monday very nicely.Colts have decent lead to defend and Kings capable of pulling back the lead.Looking forward to good meeting,as last nights sounded a cut above what Mr Cook says!!!!!2 points

I didn't hear much of the Ipswich fans until the last two races either!2 points

No, Roscoe has admitted he made a school boy error, and was in fact talking to referee over the radio before heat 14 started2 points

Wow, still in shock tbh, how we won that AND by enough for the stars to get no points. After the heat 12 3-3, where we really needed a 5-1, I thought that was it, having to face Cook and Lambert in 13 & 15, but write this team off at your peril, boy did they dig deep and pull off a wonder. I know many of you knock Ritchie, but he certainly knows how to motivate the TEAM, yes they certainly are a TEAM. Really proud of the lads tonight, especially Cam and Richard. But I felt so sorry for Ty.2 points

That's usually done via the officials in the pits via mike, not on the phone?? Well it is at Ipswich2 points

Fantastic meeting... takes two sides to make a good meeting. Auty was in great form..plus some inspired guest bookings got Scunny a fine win. Kennedys crash was awful, lifting and hitting the home straight fence at a horrible speed and at such an angle...how he got away with what seems like just minor injuries seems like a gift from god.. it was a sickening crash. Hope he doesn't feel too badly beaten up in the morning. Auty won some classic duels with Howarth, worth the admission alone... Aarnio v Howarth wasn't too bad either! Perhaps you could say Sheffield under performed tonight... However Scunny well deserved the win... but with racing of that quality, everyone's a winner.1 point

Should be some great racing on show, the weather should be good tonight and I fancy the Tigers to win by around 10pts. Based on last night's performance, Connor should hit the track running - which means we'll have two solid reserves!1 point

There will be a collection tomorrow night at Berwick on behalf of Sam Norris, for those who don't know Sam was riding in the British Youth Championships at Glasgow last Sunday when he suffered a serious head injury in a crash. There are updates on Sam's progress on the Youth section on the forum under the thread Young Lions, it is obvious he faces quite a battle ahead.1 point

Sounds to me like a broken record fueled by hate and envy. These sentiments are not what you hear for those who regularly go.1 point

Agree,, has done good so far,,,,, I was unsure to start with, but he has certainly kept me in my place.1 point

Superb meeting two excellent sides going for it hammer and tongs, great debut by Bailey, impressed with Rowe, Flint and Ledwith rode superbly, Kent unlucky as Kemp appeared to have bike problems, tie hanging in the balance as Kings more than capable of turning this around at Sittingbourne. I took a mate who had never been to the Colts before, he loved it said what great value for £10, great advert for NL speedway.1 point

So another away defeat last night and no point despite only needing a shared heat 15. With only away trips to Belle Vue, Swindon, Wolves and Poole x 2 left it looks highly unlikely that an away win will be achieved this season. Even winning the rest of our home meetings probably wouldn’t be enough to finish top four. Unfortunately I feel that the club has taken far too long to replace Proctor and while Cook was a good signing the injury to Riss came at an awful time and unfortunately Lewis has taken several matches to get going after dropping to reserve. All a bit of a mess really. Get Riss and a proper number seven in and maybe they’ll prove me wrong but it doesn’t look good and the season could effectively be over before the kids break up for the summer.1 point

One very lonely, unhappy rider in the pits tonight was Ty, last time I saw a rider like that was the evening before Lewis Rose "took a break" from speedway. He has been our "superguest" for several seasons and normally rides our track well, I understand why you want him dropped, but think he's really down in the dumps.1 point

They did indeed - at heat 11 I wasnt confident of the win let alone stretching it out to 8 Lewi Kerr inpressive - made the most of conditions being right for him Not the best from a racing spectacle but a close score in a local derby and a nail biting finish made it a decent meeting1 point

In fairness Perks scored 5, would say he did his job. Starke isn’t the rider we should look to keep.1 point

I think the this is one of the few areas where the reduction in points limit has worked to an extent as the idea at least was to force riders to improve, move up or move out. My biggest gripe with the NL is often the amount of riders who tread water for season after season and ultimately block up team places for others who are trying to break into the sport. The top guys (who all had to start somewhere) do have things to offer but the middling guys / persistent slow burners are what needs addressing.1 point

Not sure it will change their policy- but you could fire off a polite email to office@speedwayekstraliga.pl and explain that more and more people are travelling from the UK to watch the best league in the world and as this is the 3rd Friday/Sunday switch of the season it is not doing the credibility of the fixture list any good and is inconveniencing many fans.1 point

Keep faith Bandits fans, Worky overturned first leg deficits equal to and greater than this last season, if the riders want it badly enough it's certainly possible.1 point

Both Jordan and Ben started on a 2 point average and now Connor is doing the same. That makes it a total of signing three 2 point averages1 point
