Im no Poole fan but im enjoying seeing this score line after seeing Gavan giving it large on the Poole thread7 points

Can't see him coming back for a few years if at all.His family moved over to pursue this move and have been left very disillusioned with UK speedway. All this did was cost them and Scunthorpe speedway a considerable sum of money for a youngster who wasnt ready because the sport is being driven towards scooping up riders just out of nappies and gambling with their futures rather than allowing them to develop.7 points

Why the smug patronising BS Steve? Not needed and is why you are largely despised on here Poole won fair and square and every Ipswich fan has congratulated the team on here. Many stayed and gave them warm applause on the victory parade Show some humility for once6 points

Jitendra has put a detailed response on the Bears Forum as to why the decision was made to sign Riss and admits it was a calculated gamble knowing that he would miss 2 home meetings (this week and next week) but that we would have guest facility next Friday. Tried to get the meeting moved but couldn’t reach agreement strangely enough. In the long term it’s a move that gives Redcar a better chance of making the playoffs which is hard to disagree with. The Promotion didn’t have to give a detailed explanation or offer a discount but they have and deserve some credit for that. I would have thought the Scunny fans would welcome not only a much better chance at winning and £2 staying in their pockets (feel free to pay full price).6 points

No just a bit smaller when well prepared it's just as good as your place.6 points

I'm going to buy 2 extra 50-50 tickets as I don't think its the clubs fault.6 points

You'll have to withdraw that comment or the Belle Vue mafia will after you. The NSS is the best track in the whole wide world and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.5 points

They knew when they signed Riss that he would have other commitments which would take priority. Why do you not think it is the clubs fault?5 points

Cant quite understand some of the negativity on the Ulrich signing - it is a complete no brainer He's a rider who will probably average better than his current average and it strengthens the team and puts Max at 6 where he will be 1 of the best reserves in the league I feel sorry Jakob and hope he gets fixed up (and I would give him another go in the future) - but it is a numbers game and the Diamonds can still rescue this season The side looks a lot stronger with Max at 6 and Ulrich and Matty as 2nd strings ....... our heat leaders are improving (at last!) and if Stevie can get his average over 9 and TJ and Lasse improving to get theirs to near 8 - this side looks very competitive (certainly at home) and could potentially nick a playoff place4 points

Nice gesture form the Promotion to take £2 off adult admission due to the under strength Bears line up. Revenue will already be down as I'm sure the gate will be affected.4 points

The crowd was decent, as was the racing. The scoreline doesn't do Brum justice, they kept it close for the majority of the meeting. The track had new shale added this week. No blue line. Times were quick. Track was smooth after grading. Took a few riders to get used to it...Henry Atkins was lucky to walk away after lifting whilst leading...smacked the air fence straight on at speed. All in all a good meeting, well presented and fluently. Worth the admission alone to watch Ben Barker team ride excellently with Rowe for four laps...just like the old days...was a pleasure to watch.4 points

I know it's probably down to drop in sales and having to shave costs. A lot of the effort of the old journalists to find stories seems to have disappeared. Although the cover is a big improvement, this year's Speedway Star has reverted back to being the type of magazine we had with the Speedway News in the 30s and 40s, which carried little information any researchers in later years could call back on. I think it should try to include all British speedway results and, as I have stated before, I would ditch the grass track pages. Speedway match reports were important to me. But this year matches get a brief review and all connectivity of having someone reporting the action at trackside is gone. We now have a rush job with a small weekly review. I even miss race times, as they could offer some form of info as to how a rider was going if, for instance, they had won their first race in a long time. And it's laughable when you read that a rider broke the track record last week, but you aren't given any clue as to what the record is... It's a pointless piece of info if the times aren't given in the first place! I can't grasp what it is, but much of the detail I used to rely on the Star for has vanished - unless I want to find out something on last weekend's Grand Prix. And that's tragic, in some way, as the GPs have arguably helped put British speedway where it is now!4 points

you wouldn't have a team without buster, its a poisoned chalice3 points

Another disastrous performance from the Panthers. I can accept losing but when we are not competitive then I find it hard to motivate myself to go. Don't care what anyone else has to say, Buster has ruined our season. I hear he was complaining about the low crowd tonight, well Buster just wait till Monday when the meeting is on the television and see how many turn up. Wolves look a lot stronger with the inclusion of Ryan Douglas. For us full marks to Rohan Tungate and Charles Wright who were the only two riders to come out of the meeting with any credit. I accept we have missed Hans and Bradley but tonight was not good enough. Congratulations to Wolves.....rant over.3 points

Think the fans are starting feel they are being treated like mugs these days and voting with their feet.To many Promoters thinking fans should just turn up and pay at the gate when they decide to hold a meeting ,well it just ain’t happening.3 points

Peterborough is an outstanding track. I'll not do divide and conquer though, they are both as good as one and other. Take the specs off, you embarras regular bv fans on here.3 points

There are some elements of the modern star that i like, there are more interviews and a few riders/managers etc are actually quite candid and open about the goings on rather than the dull company line. However to not be able to include results from a genuine British league and still have plenty of space for results from Germany & South Africa is baffling. We all have opinions on what should be trimmed (personally i don't care for the dear deidrie style readers letters as they are just handpicked opinions) why not keep it factual and report results? As ever development leagues are treated like trash,i await the uproar when the youth rounds are next to be pushed out.3 points

I genuinely think Eastie will persevere with the current team baring injurues, may come back to bite us in the semi finals, although still have a chance in both with the current team. It may go against the general ethos of this league, mostly caused by the points limit, but if they do keep with the current team, think they should be applauded picking a British team in the first place, and sticking with them. Not many of the wholesale changes at other clubs have been welcomed with open arms by the fans.3 points

11/10/18 - Rathbone said: “Regardless of what happens this winter - whether or not the club is sold - Peterborough will definitely be racing next year. “There is absolutely no threat to the future of the club and it is important our supporters all realise that.2 points

Yeah was a bit patchy at times this evening. Not the best meeting but important to stop them getting a point. You won't see a more unlucky last place all season than Perks in heat 14! So undeserved!2 points

I don't think anyone is complaining about our team being weaker, I think everyone just feels bad for Bukhave and still p!ssed off about the carrying situation... Mind you, I think our top 6 looks very powerful now, so hopefully we should be able to beat everyone at home and start to pick up points away (Importantly around Edinburgh on Friday) I think our team looks a lot better now, but sorry to Bukhave Hope you're fixed up again real soon and don't hold any negative feelings towards us... Good luck2 points

None of the threatened showers have hit today and the forecast for rain that was looking 50/50 for 7/8pm has now shifted out til after 10pm so all looks set fair Lets hope it stays that way and the Pirate select is sent packing with a humbling spanking2 points

Just as well that the average lifespan of any conversion/multiplier regulation is 1 year really!!2 points

Pretty pathetic to say the least.......ridiculous that meetings like this are allowed to take precedence over league commitments. Too many riders riding for different teams, countries and other competitions. Just another nail in British speedway's coffin. Wonder how many folk won't turn up on Friday through lack of interest?......2 points

Riss also missing for Redcar tomorrow, NL guest there also. The question needs to be asked, should teams be allowed to sign riders if they are unable to fulfill every fixture? NL guests at heat leader damages the sport.2 points

So Bomber has crated up his machinery for Russia so what will he be riding this evening? A bag of spanners hopefully!!2 points

No. There's more to life than speedway, and at 38 after a great career with a few too many bangs on the head I'd be thinking that I got away (to some extent although he's not out of the woods yet) with that one and perhaps it's best to bow out in one piece? It's their living though and they don't think like that as the article shows.2 points

Not good. He's getting on, with young kids, but seems like he is going to carry on when his health allows. Hans has been a great servant to British speedway, and I wish him all the best.2 points

Ostergaard for Bukhave is a very good change. I feel sorry for JB but that's life I'm afraid. If we can get Bjerre and Jorgensen fit this looks a good sextet.2 points

Not quite. three days before changes come into effect, not necessarily the announcements. Indeed the announcement says "subject to BSPA approval" so the checks are still in progress. Scunthorpe last season announced they had dropped Danny, then found out (after the necessary checks!!!) that they couldn't do that. (after the transfer deadline).2 points
