Some people seem to be so hard to please, I think Nigel Pearson and Kelvin Tatum do a great job, as does Natalie Quirk. How luck we are to get any kind of speedway coverage especially domestically.12 points

Hopefully you can read the words in bold that the loss of Howarth COULD GO EITHER WAY!! So a guy who at best would get 4-5 points..................has scored 6,3,7,7 and 10 on his last 5 visits..............and you say i know nothing about speedway...try finding out factual information before posting because you make yourself look stupid when you post tripe....... If R/R gets 7 or 8 then yes Wolves will be stronger in this meeting.......ive actually said the riders at r/r could score more..but somehow you choose to ignore that fact Try reading my post and then what you type might have some substance....5 points

1 falling off and staying down preventing the other 3 doing what you suggest.....4 points

So going by Homer's post I should have paid a £5 at Sheffield on Sunday. Berwick representative was in Heats 1,8,12,16,20. Rest of the heats basically meant nothing to me.4 points

Honestly Two passes the whole meeting against Newcastle Heat 07: Bjerre passed Etheridge on the back straight of Lap 1 and Heat 09: Jorgensen pulled a hard move to go under Jonasson on Bend 4 of Lap 1. Then the event that was nearly Heat 10: The first running of the race saw Jonasson fall on Bend 3 Lap 2 when in third. Bjerre allegedly fell at the same time when chasing (he said he laid his bike down). Both were excluded from the rerun, however up to this point Wethers and Jonasson has passed and re-passed on the first lap and a half. The race when rerun with Gappmaier and Wethers was a gate and go affair unfortunately and as much as Wethers tried he got nowhere and then went wide into the thick stuff on the last bend and came down hard and was withdrawn from the meeting. The other 12 heats were all from the gate and done and dusted on the exit of the second bend of the first lap, the meeting was awful as a spectacle. Sorry... Regards THJ3 points

Think I remember seeing one at Brandon. Last rider was Chris Manchester, who decided to pull a wheelie all the way down the back straight, and was promptly excluded for not racing properly. The referee was Frank Edbon surprisingly2 points

Boring? Come on, man! Except for Leszno dominating at the top, the Ekstraliga this year was tremendously exciting. Who would have thought that Gorzow and Torun finish the season in the relegaton zone. All meetings were generally excellent throughout the season, and attracted big crowds, and that even with live tv coverage for the first time of EVERY meeting.2 points

Checking my Hackney book I see he won it in 75. I was only 6 at the time so I don't really remember, although I'm sure I was there. I remember the Superama was held when the Hawks were away at fellow Friday nighters Wolverhampton and it was always a fantastic line-up. I often wondered what the Wolves management thought about it because it probably affected their gate, although I don't think we had a large away support because we lost a lot on the road!2 points

Can I place on record my thanks to the Birmingham promoters for their quick and positive response.2 points

As somebody who watched the sport during its healthy times, and keeping track with what it has become, I'd be grateful for any coverage right now. Fans often lambasted SKY for its coverage, or because they didn't screen a certain match, or its commentators... When SKY decided to ditch us, the same supporters called them "rubbish" anyway, and BT was the best. But because BT air occasional live matches, they're the villains. Speedway 2019 should be thankful for the amount of live action that hits the screens. It is still laughable that hardcore supporters feel it deserves better.2 points

Not so , it's a local dust up . If it were Berwick v Glasgow followed by Berwick against Eastbourne or Birmingham , I could see your point . But on this occasion everybody in attendance will have a team to support in both matches.2 points

Which thanks to Krister Gardell rushing the meeting through and a fast taxi driver, I didn't need!2 points

Lets hope that the track once and for all cannot be blamed for a Witches defeat. Slick and a gaters paradise and the fat lady will be singing by 8.15pm A track deep on the outside that favours the brave and the Witches will have a chance.....2 points

I wouldn’t be unhappy if Ipswich win this - as I think Swindon could beat Poole, Ipswich and BV over 2 legs in the play-offs. Wolves - I’m not so sure about.1 point

Somerset is a good track, usually provides good racing and in the summer the surroundings are nice. I just wish they provided more food / drink outlets and toilets for those fans who stand on the back straight. Two portaloos just don't cut it. Redcar did a far better job with the Fours last season. That said, still looking forward to the meeting this year.1 point

Preben Eriksen also had issues with him during his early career. Basically riders who could stand up to Olsen and not be dominated by him grew to distrust him. Olsen enjoyed his dominance as the leading Dane and when Nielsen came along and began to beat him on a regular basis Olsen took a dislike to him...especially as Hans was very much his own man and didn't want to be dominated by Olsen's overbearing presense (Nielsen touches upon the subject in his autobiography "The Main Dane") Steve Bastable was another who didn't get on with him whilst team mates at Coventry..1 point

Torun relegated as you say. The winners of Rybnik v Ostrow Nice Polska play-offs are promoted to the Extraleague.(that will be Rybnik) Gorzow meet the losers in the relegation/ promotion play- off(Gorzow) the winners of Bydgoszcz v Poznan Div 2 play-offs are promoted into the Nice Polska league (Bydgoszcz)and the losers meet Lodz in the promotion/ relegation play- off.(Lodz) i cannot make it any simpler than that ! No automatic relegation from Nice Polska as only 7 teams in it in 2019.1 point

Back to the main topic and hoping for a safe meeting for all riders and a Scorpion win.1 point

Having seen around six NL matches and eight Premiership, I'd much rather watch NL. The Championship has by far the better standard of ' racing ' not gate and follow, but the NL can produce good racing even if it tends to be two battling at the front and two a way back battling for a point.1 point

I don't think i'd bother going if we dropped down...the NL does nothing for me !? I've loved our first season in the Championship regardless of our league position!1 point

Sad news indeed. A stalwart of the Stars team for several years, he always gave 100% and was part of my teen years spent at Saddlebow Road every Saturday night. My condolences go to his family, he will always be part of the Stars family and will not be forgotten. Born in Kings Lynn, and rode for Kings Lynn, I had the pleasure of meeting him in Norwich a few years back at a World Speedway riders dinner. I've only just found out this sad news, and wondered if anybody knows when the Memorial Service for him is to be held in the Hope Church in Norwich? I may have missed it, but would like to pay my last respects if possible.1 point

first of all credit to the track staff for providing an excellent race track after the rain shower that caused a delay to a meeting. It will be hard now for Smederna with only a 2 point lead, but hopefully they remember that when they won the league back in 2017 they actually lost the first leg 41-49 against Vetlanda before going there and winning 54-36. I know that the team has different riders as there is no Matej Zagar, Leon Madsen or Michael Michelsen but Jesper Jensen, Lebedevs, Eklof and Aspgren (if he rides) were in the team. I would not be surprised to Pontus Aspgren in the team next week. As I use to say when I played sport if you believe in yourself then anything is possible, so all is not lost yet. Great commentary again last night, Dave.1 point

He reared going down the back straight do that was probably then the problem that the problem occured. Got to say it was a great third ride when he passed Thorssell on the outside on bends 1 and 2. Not a common event !1 point

He had more chance prior to last Saturday, turning up and putting in a sub standard performance due to injury did him more harm than good.1 point

Sounds broadly similar to the Cradley match last week, my first visit to the NSS and enjoyed the experience (if not the actual match!) Seeing the Colts guys deep in the dirt was a pleasure, especially Flint who has a fantastic style leaning over so far. Cradley couldn't lay a glove on the Colts, I can't remember the last time Clegg went a whole match without winning a heat, nor the last time he registered a last place but none of the Cradley riders were able to live with the home team. Harry McGurk was unlucky in the reserve race where he was in the mix for the lead and suffered engine troubles. Great value NL racing for sure at a fantastic venue, kids for free and £10 per adult is great stuff1 point

Cannot really understand why this meeting is being held at a stadium with no seating, poor peripheral lighting at the back end of September, just because the GP is the day after should not preclude this meeting being taken somewhere else on a different date.1 point

Yesterday I said Hancock deserved a card for only sentimental reasons. Services to speedway and a farewell tour. But having thought more I'd ask what more would he bring to the series that a young rider like Lambert or Mickelson would do. The answer is he would bring less. There is no chance of Hancock riding a race like Lambert did to beat Lindgren at Teterow. That was exciting to watch. So my view is Sorry Greg you are out but maybe hand him a GP wild card in a couple of GP's so he gets a chance to say Goodbye. Warsaw in front of 50000 a lovely way to finish or Torun.1 point
