  1. If Newcastle speedway is about to be under new ownership for 2020 then i hope George English and the English family get the credit they deserve for their time and efforts over the years.

  3. Yet another season has drawn to a close, and once again Crazy Sue and her intrepid texters and updaters have come up trumps again. So thanks Sue and your wonderful gang for providing such a brilliant service, we'd be lost with out you, hopefully more of the same again next year You really are appreciated

  4. So do I, as Newcastle speedway has always been a favourite place to visit for me over the years.

  5. I wish this was on the Newcastle thread. Arguably the greatest rider to have ridden for the diamonds in the last 30 years (alongside his name sake). i get the feeling you don’t speak for the Poole faithful, but welcome to the championship. i find it laughable that you ridicule bjarne, yet Klindt now feels your club is below him

  6. Nor next season apparently Oh well - at least we have the league cup to display as champions next season.

  7. When Poole claimed to be the Manchester United of Speedway they were only about 10 miles out. It turns out that the skint Pirates are the Bury FC of Speedway.

  9. What like a couple of mid season signings to take you from also rans to champions! Oh hang on a minute isn't that what Swindon did?

  10. Isn’t Poole Newman getting on a bit now?

  11. I’d have Tobi as well if he wants to ride in Britain.

  12. I am not too bothered what the limit is. I just hope they don't make the stupid decision to increase the points limit halfway through the season as they did this year. For example it turned a very average Redcar side into a very good side, by ditching a second string and replacing him with another out and out number 1 ( Erik Riss). There was no way they could have done that without the limit changing from 38 to 40. Fair play to them for that, but it probably cost Berwick (who were over the 40 point limit) a place in the play-offs.

  13. They are definitely not a Poole fan! Wolves I think. I think the other fans are already missing Poole as they keep gravitating towards our thread on CL section! Edit - tbh I get the feeling Klindt is a bit annoyed as they didn't give him a heads up as he questioned it when there were rumours but was told not moving down (I gather this was before the season finished).

  14. Peterborough fans should be more cautious from now on and not buy one until they know the seven riders who will actually be riding at the first meeting.

  15. I hated that rule when it ruled out M Zager coming back to us, still hate it now and I hope You lot can keep both Doyle and Batch.

  16. Well that’s exactly the point I think he’s making. That team was then taken apart by Keith Chapman who will again be setting the budget for the coming season. I’d have the same fears too tbh.

  19. A service that many of us have come to take for granted. Which is all wrong, of course. We have to remember the time, effort and cost of bringing us heat by heat results of virtually every meeting held. Forget the pale imitations on Twitter etc. This is the most comprehensive results service anywhere. Keep up the good work and thank you.

  21. only a mug would have kennett over Lawson, kennett gets the ass too easily away and disappears without trace after 3 rides away whilst Lawson is solid dependable and extremely consistent.

  23. Not sure if this is the right section to post this in but if not, I'm sure an Admin will move it to the correct place. For any Chris Harris fans out there, the following has just been posted on the Somerset Website http://www.somerset-speedway.com/news.php?extend.2612....... BID FOR BOMBER ARTWORK Although the 2019 skipper Chris Harris has been snapped up by Birmingham for 2020, Rebels’ fans have the opportunity to secure a wonderful one-off piece of memorabilia featuring the Bomber in Rebels colours. The club has been donated a splendid signed painting by Mel Affleck to raise funds for the excellent SREF (Somerset Riders’ Equipment Fund). The artwork will be placed on Ebay for auction. Painted on a cradled panel, 70cm wide by 50cm high with painted and varnished edgings, the painting has been done in acrylics, and based on a photograph provided by club photographer Colin Burnett, can be hung as it is.SREF organiser Di Phillips said “it is a truly wonderful painting that has clearly taken a great deal of time and attention and we are grateful to Mel for donating it to us. Chris may not be back in Somerset’s colours next season but he gave us many enjoyable moments during his year as a Rebel and this will make an ideal very special Christmas present as it is a one-off. Of course bidding is not restricted to just Somerset fans, it would look fabulous on the wall of any Chris Harris fan and we all know there are hundreds of those around.” CHRIS HARRIS PAINTING - AUCTION NOW LIVE Mel Affleck's superb painting has now been listed on ebay for auction. The starting bid is £150, and the listing will stay live for 7 days. Anyone wishing to bid on this fantastic painting can do so here: http://ebay.us/cZ6Hts?cmpnId=5338273189

  41. You don't stop, do you? And you reckon others have too much spare time? You asked questions, and as rhetorical as they may have seemed to you, somebody was able to provide actual - and factual - answers. Answers that didn't coincide with your opinions, but were 100% factual and truthful all the same.

  45. B*yawn*e was never exciting. His gating was more than decent & he was fast enough to be an effective chicane against any rider. He was a reliable above average second heat leader at most in Britain ten years ago. I doubt he got that far up the Ekstraliga & Eliteserin ladder. He wouldn't put my bum on any seat. Poole look back, last time he rode over here he was feigning iinjury so you could use Tungate as a guest!!
