  2. With all the various rules surrounding getting a stadium ready for fans, then will enough fans turn up to make it viable, will teams have a full set of riders willing to race for maybe a couple of months, will any potential sponsors have any money left to spend on helping speedway run ? All these very big questions, and the answer will only come if they decide to run, but if no one turns up and money does not come thro, clubs are running at a far higher loss than normal !!. So imo it would be best to forget about speedway in 2020, and focus on 2021 with the same teams

  3. Should league racing be giving the go ahead is there really the appetite from the paying customers to get enough back through the gates to make speedway viable, giving the circumstances we have lived under over the last few months I`m not sure there is. If that is true would clubs would be running meetings at a loss which they have done in the past of course.

  4. Most on here are middle to old aged, Dan's a youngster where danger is his life. Wish I still had it in me to do something that might hurt instead of panicking when my shoelaces come undone

  7. And the odds of that must been in their thousands. You surely must know a group of the unluckiest people in the world as to fall into the categories you describe the chances are so infinitely small.

  8. There is absolutely no point in even attempting to run speedway this season, in my opinion. What is the point in starting the season in near August time? Restrictions wont be fully lifted until near the end of the season at the very least. With certain things reopening, it will only be a matter of time before cases spike again like they have done in Australia. In the first week of June, pubs etc re opened, albeit with restrictions, there were no new cases reported at all for days on end then bang, they started to shoot up again and they are talking about a Stage 4 lockdown coming back in at any moment. We are currently in stage 3, and as of Wednesday theres a 200 dollar fine for anybody not wearing a face mask. Write the season off, plan ahead for 2021.

  12. Good advice, just like eating healthy or not drinking too much alcohol or smoking cigarettes is good advice. But a large % of the population ignore it and the health system has to cope with the consequences

  15. Ok, whatever. I am able to think for myself I log onto the 'net to share information and for fun, I don't get into spats. I hope that neither you, or anyone you know or care about, gets infected with Covid-19, speaking from unfortunate experience, no-one, really (really) don't want to catch it. Hope this statement doesn't include speedway but just read: "Boris says fans can enter stadiums (presumably football) in October"....

  22. Yep a know where ya coming from and that was the basis of me response... if the manual lists aren't managed you might as well use them for bog paper... but to manage these systems takes time effort and potentially money... Many won't put the effort in on the process and others won't want to pay for it... there was a sign in list into the Black and Gold that many walked past so if someone had Covid in there and there is a break out of virus only half to two thirds of the people in there would be able to be traced... This isn't in isolation either as I have been known to frequent a few drinking establishments and it is the same in a great many of them... although I was led to believe that these measures would only be in place for 3 weeks and if it worked they would be lifted... But if people don't work to accommodate these measures they may be tightened... and that's the last thing I would suggest that everyone wants... I was in a spot last week where there were 3 Mickey Mouse's a Donald Duck and Winston Churchill... that's how serious that was being taken... Regards THJ

  24. In Boris speech the other day (telefvided and in newspapers) he was talking about October for "mass" gatherings, so thats end of speedway time. So effectively speedway in UK not going to happen. As for will officials be required COVID testing if stadia dont open. Well its happening in other sports now where no crowds ie footba;;, F1, MotoGP so yes it more then lokely be required IMO.

  25. That’s the way a lot of pubs restaurants are getting your details as you have to order and pay through their apt, that way they have got your contact details.

  26. Think that was the reason of the trailing of the new ticketing system... it may be that the only way this can be done effectively is through an online process that has details of the purchaser which to my mind will be another hurdle to jump... Regards THJ

  27. Another big consideration is that there are a lot of people on furlough and who's jobs may be in danger once the scheme starts to wind down . Money will be tight and speedway may not be that important to them , also will fans attending any matches need to supply contact details for track and trace purposes ?

  29. I found that link was best, but yesterday wouldn't work. I had it on full screen and if you put curser on bottom right hand corner it brings up a playing menu along the bottom, had to change it to N Sport and worked fine. Had to do the same today. Hope that helps for the future.

  31. I personally think it would have to be meaningful matches(league)to tempt a lot of fans in sufficient numbers. Cant see that happening,(happy if proved wrong) Fans don’t seem to turn up for meaningless meetings in the last couple of decades, better things to do with their money I reckon.

  32. I doubt very much the BSPA would have the kind of money needed to subsidise any club who are running at a loss. Should racing be given the go ahead you can bet there will be clubs up and down the Country doing there sums, some may give it a go, some others will go down the Glasgow route and with draw their season to a close deciding to start afresh for next year. There are clubs, Peterborough, Belle Vue, Berwick etc who can cope with several hundred in their stadium and still practice social distancing but there are others Edinburgh, Wolves, Newcastle etc who may not.

  33. I've never tasted one being a vegetarian, but I've seen quite a few thrown in the bin after a couple of mouth falls during my visits there. I did try their so called chips once, and they most certainly finished up in the bin. Dry & tasteless....horrible.

  41. But like everything one person has mild symptoms and the next has big problems. Saw a report that many have lung problems months afterwards. Another was a woman in her mid-30s could hardly make it a few hundreds years down the road. But I must admit I didn’t see if she had previous problems and wouldn’t be too surprised if she was putting it on for benefits etc

  49. And let's be honest, most of the money Terry Russell did make from the various TV deals has been ploughed back into Swindon over the years. I doubt he made a net profit on those two activities.
