I've been watching speedway since I was born in 1986 and have seen probably thousands of heats since then, and have been commentating on the sport since 2007. That ninth heat tonight was the best heat I have ever seen anywhere.5 points

And now the season is over (bar a couple of loose ends) thank you for accompanying us on what has been a very unusual speedway journey.3 points

I see it the other way... Lidsey’s front wheel rode up Zmarzlik’s dirt deflector3 points

Holder would make a good spoiler in the GP series. Shame the powers thought otherwise.3 points

It might be over as a contest but heats 8, 9 and 10 right out of the top drawer. Heat 9 the heat of the season without doubt, stunning stuff.2 points

NOTHING to gain by having Harris there. Look to the future. England have some excellent prospects coming through the ranks. Invest in them and, hopefully, reap the benefit later.2 points

If Jeppesen does get added as the No.8 then I still think -6 is a good bet considering the track is wet and the start has been delayed. As Najjer said Walasek will probably be useless and Klindt is a fan of wet tracks either.2 points

" Bartek has been around while and doesn’t crash much considering the way you think he rides. Its very hard to be safe rider in Speedway so much depends on other riders." I think most probably Bartek intimidates some riders, that they know he won't pull out, once he decides he is coming through on the inside.2 points

Hello I'm a postie and don't really think the packaging has anything to do with delayed deliveries. At my office there are probably around 85 staff and for the last week we have had 40+ people off with Covid so unfortunately some people will receive mail late and there's not a lot we can do about it we are trying our best but we just don't have the resources, and I'd imagine it's the same up and down the country. but hopefully things should start to improve in the next week or so.2 points

Zmarzlik was offered up at 12 points tonight, bet you’d of got heavy odds on him to score 3 points from 5 rides!1 point

Is there really any need to exclude anyone there? Just put the 3 back in the rerun1 point

Well the ref disagrees with us all. Can’t for the life of me believe Zmarzlik was at fault.1 point

What a joke. Leszno have the referee and track commissioner in their pocket.1 point

Not doubting that for one minute. Jack has some serious speed tonight, Zmarzlik holding him back all race. He’s got to be one of the most improved riders in the world this year.1 point

Be good to see a few non- league posters on the General Discussions Football thread. Can remember watching east London Walthamstow, Leytonstone, Ilford, Barking, Clapton, at Dulwich Hamlet/Casuals in SE22. The Amlet shared with Corinthian Casuals, both played in pink, crowds of around 100-200. In the 60s the Isthmian League had teams such as Enfield,Hendon,Sutton,Wycombe, Kingstonian, Bromley, Maidstone, Wealdstone, St.Albans, Oxford City, Toot and Mitch, Woking, Hitchin. The Amlet were getting biggest crowds in National League South before lockdown hit, around 2000 average. New stadium approved. My dad played for Casuals at The Oval in early 50s, just before their defeat to Bishop Auckland at Wembley in 1956, crowd of 100000. The only cockney lad in a team of Oxbridge students, and still amateur.1 point

If a team is allowed to dominate by signing the best riders, it doesn’t make it a league victory, but more an extended victory parade. Whilst Poland can boast of having the best riders, it doesn’t mean it has the most exciting racing or most thrilling finals. The British premier/championship finals are far superior imo. The Swedish league is a sorry excuse lacking anything of interest. Just riders turning up for a pay cheque.1 point

Zmarzlik needs to win both heats 4 and 5. He can set the tone for the comeback.1 point

it would also give all 16 riders the chance to plug their sponsors while they 'ponder' over gate pick for their final. It's ideal for for this scoring system. Probably much better for TV highlights as well. I quite like the idea of 5 finals. D Final:13th to 16th, winner progresses to the C Final: with 10th to 12th, winner to B Final with 7th to 9th, winner to A Final with 4th to 6th, winner to the Grand Final with 1st to 3rd. All gate picks after heat 20, no track grading in between finals. Effectively you could finish on zero points after 20 heats and still win the GP (however impossible that might be). Offset against the fact that you qualify direct to the Grand Final if you finish in the top three. No safety net of finishing 2nd in a semi final. After heat 20 you have to win it to still be in it. I suppose it's the conundrum all sports wrestle with. Balancing a fair test which rewards the best competitor with the need for entertainment.1 point

Great to see Jason Crump and Steve Worrall at the BYC at Belle Vue. Big thank you to both of them1 point

It was an every race counts system last year - and there were flaws. The old World Final system was an every race counts system - and there were flaws.1 point

Bartek has been around while and doesn’t crash much considering the way you think he rides. Its very hard to be safe rider in Speedway so much depends on other riders.Crump,Doyle,Pedersen all had serious injuries that just the nature of the sport.Im sure the riders don’t give it a thought or they are in the wrong sport.Look at Adams and Gollob rode the sport for 20 years and both seriously injured “playing about” after they finished.Air fences have reduced the injury risk somewhat,Tai at the weekend being a perfect example.Hate to think of what his injury would have been before they came along. We just have to enjoy what we are watching and wish the riders well.1 point

After the disappointing meeting from ZG, this was a meeting full of drama and great heats. Gorzów's track has been slated a good few times this season but it was pretty damn good last night. Some wonderful performances from Kołodziej, Woźniak, Holder, Thomsen and Zmarzlik. The scenes of celebration were also great to see. When the underdog comes back it's always entertaining. Yes, it'll be an easy overall win for Leszno tomorrow no doubt, but fair play to Gorzów, and their fans, for making the 1st leg a pretty outstanding meeting under the circumstances.1 point

We had this system with the D, C, B, and A finals during the 1990s SGP Series. It was also used for a long time in ice racing, but I did not like it. Last year's points system was the best we ever had in the SGP! Every point counted.1 point

A Final 25, 21, 18, 16 B Final 15, 13, 12, 11. C Final 10, 8, 7, 6. D Final 5, 3, 2, 1. Those who have done the best on the night head to head against everyone else gets rewarded with the "big points".. And there is an extra reward in every final for winning it.. And the overall GP winner gets a decent amount over second but hopefully not enough to have the series over by half way due to an unassailable lead if he wins a few.. And, which will please the FIM, the GP winner is the one who crosses the line first in the final.. And the fifth race for everybody would be crucial to their final points scoring as the vast majority of the field would still not be sure of which Final they will race in, meaning a tense last four programmed races ideal for TV.. Then you can add four finals with the most evenly matched quartet of riders from qualifying up against one another...1 point
