he has never been to PB in his life we’re you at that meeting started on the wrong set up and took him a few rides to get it right that’s a fact not bad score for a kid that’s never seen the place before6 points

Your No1 should ask him for gating lessons,he didn’t win when he didn’t gate.Sam is a reserve ,most Teams would bite your arm off for a reserve that can score 7+1 away from home.Sour grapes IMO.5 points

Im sorry to see the comments of "Being close to saying its enough" what will the BSPL gain from another Club closing? albeit that they are no longer members of the dictators Club, only today CVS has said they may have to consider closing due to outside decisions, yet here we have a Track wanting to continue yet the BSPL continue to put obstacles in there way Rob Godfrey in his position as Chairman of the BSPL should be encouraging the IOW to stage Speedway, never mind they can continue staging amateur meetings up at Scunthorpe because there may soon not be enough Speedway Teams to stage meaningful League meetings against, is that what Godfrey & Co really want ?.4 points

Some absolute barmy comments from 'Col' ...think he's got sunstroke! Once Sam Jensen set his bike up to get out the start, he was a class act. Cook was the 'only' Glasgow rider that passed a Brummy after the first lap.... Not a great meeting, but some very close racing.....a fair result. Ostergaard won it for Glasgow IMO! Well done Ulrich! Harris was brilliant in heat 13 to pass and re-pass Cook! Paco rode fantastically well.... Great confidence boost for Jack with 2 heat wins.... Ashley and James will come good.... It bodes well for the season.....afterall, it all comes down to a 2 Leg shoot-out in the end.... Well done to the hard/miracle working track staff.... A couple more tons of shale on the bends and we'd have the perfect surface! Respect to the travelling 'Glasgow' fans!4 points

Wow just wow you are wasted on here you should have been a profiler. So you are basing his attitude on what , how do you come to this conclusion 7 paid 8 on a track he has never seen before a young rider making his way in the sport and you come out with this.4 points

How can anyone justify allowing 17/18,000 at the Cricket today which equates to roughly 70% of capacity, yet only allow a tiny fraction to attend other Sports.3 points

Basically 6pts down between Heat 5 - Heat 14 you can use a tac sub once but not in Heat 8. Normal points system3 points

I see the Berwick website match report calls Hans Andersen ‘a ringer’. The referee must have deemed his inclusion permissible and there has been no mention of a protest. Bad form from the Bandits in my view.3 points

Dan & Joe have not been the same this season...... You are quite right. They have both improved dramatically. Looking at the NL (which is the only comparison you can make 2019/2021) Dan has inceased his average from 5.50 to 10.00 (+81.82%) and Joe has increased from 6.48 to 8.00 (+23.46%). This is based on the new averages from next Sunday. I would say they are outperforming all expectations (Well maybe with the exception of yours) . But why let the facts stand in the way of a social media post.3 points

Okay..... *take a deep breath* first of all... I’m not a Leicester fan.. my name clearly states that... but I’ve got a problem with this part of your post... You talk about the Thompson twins and how they dominated in their last season racing... they’re young laddies who have worked their way up to heatleader status in NDL and have taken a massive jump into championship level... with the top 5 you have, they should be 2 that are exempt from criticism. Now... “the overrated Flint”... are you having a laugh... that laddy has worked his way up and deserves every bit of praise that he is receiving and has rightfully earned the chance to ride in Poland for Rybnik. You need to remember that this is only his 2nd full season at championship level. He’s probably had to work harder than most due to his locality... Berwick now has the facilities for the youngsters in the north but Leon has had to travel many thousands of miles over his short years in this sport... he’s worked hard to build up sponsors... he’s completely changed the way he trained and his overall fitness level is second to none... he’s got a great team behind him and is quite frankly the brightest prospect to come from North Northumberland for quite some time! So quite frankly, “the overrated Flint” is quite an insult to what that lad has actually achieved!3 points

Sorry " Ringitsneck", but history has shown that UK speedway administrators have repeatedly failed to change the sport to attract and entertain new spectators to the sport, failed to attract new investment into the sport and failed to provide a fair, transparent and democratic leadership structure. Any attempts of new ideas brought in by "others" have always been debunked. They are still marketing the same old 15 heat 4 laps a race clutch start 7 man team format for every meeting , all riders messing around endlessly before every heat. TIRED is one word that sums up the entertainment offer. They have sensibly made their group a Limited company, in anticipation of the day when they have to wind up. You would have thought that the admin. would bend over backwards to ensure as many clubs line up to tapes every season ...... but we see a steady loss of venues and the remaining "clique" of promoters just shrug their shoulders. Will the Premier League complete the 2021 season ? We started with only 6 and might only have 5. The lack of action on the top table to promote and market the sport in the UK is reprehensible. Speedway will survive IMO, but run by a disparate group of promoters who will rent a venue on an occasional basis for individual invitation meetings, with token prize money offered (just like UK grasstrack). This perhaps is not dissimilar to the ideas of the IoW promotion .... but this is where the sport is heading, and what the public will pay to watch in numbers. People want an afternoon/evening out, to be entertained, with plenty of track action, and not be be subjected to 15 drawn out heats of tyre warming , 2 minute warnings, separated every 3/4 heats by tractor racing.2 points

Whilst I do believe the current regime are failing to lead the sport in the right direction to say they want to turn it fully amateur is just completely wrong. I get that you have understandable issues with the top table but they are in it because they love the sport and hope to make a few Bob, but I doubt they do make much and so why kill the golden goose ? for want of a better term. I can foresee a crisis coming but perhaps that’s what we need so it can be rebuilt a new, hopefully !2 points

Trouble is,, if you don't go and its a good meeting with more than 1 or 2 genuine passes,,, and by a witches rider,, not the opposition,,, then you will regret not going,,, these things are very rare and don't come around often2 points

There’s a King’s Lynn thread in here somewhere More importantly what’s the matter with Heeps and how long before we can get him into our side? Scenes when we have three 6 point plus riders in the 1-72 points

Todays Test match at Edgbaston the crowd allowed is 17,000 and there are 17,000 there, the capacity is 25,000 so why the difference ?, I dont see many masks and for sure there is no Social Distancing.2 points

For Christ's sake. Stop the arguing about the minutae, that's exactly what the authorities want. You were warned what was coming last year. Until you tell them where to stick their face nappies and injected poison Wolves speedway won't be the last victim. Wake up!!2 points

That would just get it closed down sooner! It was mentioned that someone has set up a gofundme page for Wolves if fans want to help?2 points

I think their is a good case for separating GSA from team declarations as clearly they cause confusion. The current style of averages and the layout goes back to at least the 80’s, the whole set up needs completely modernising and with riders doubling up and down needs one set of GSA per month showing averages for each league riders are eligible for and cut out the 5% nonsense entirely.2 points

Something tells me your going to regret this, now we can either keep coming back to this post every time Leon knocks in another good score or we can sit back and let Leon himself make a bit of a fool of you.2 points

Poland use the Mitas tyre, what was used here previously. The reason the Anlas was banned in GP’s was it was found to be too soft. It didn’t effect the GP riders as they use a new tyre for each ride pretty much but here a tyre is expected to do 5+ Heats they are not lasting.2 points

I've been to Plymouth frequently when on holiday or for decent matches in past 5 years and have actually looked back on BSF to remind myself how far the Club has come under Mark Phillips. He has done an incredible job and deserves great credit. Back as recently as the summer of 2019 he was getting massive stick over the Track Preparation and the Clubs communication and things seemed to be on a downward curve. The difference between then and now is incredible and shows what can be done with hard work and perseverence. The new Stand and other Stadium improvements and indication of using the facility for other Events all a benchmark for others to follow. Well done Mark2 points

Doners 123. Everything that you states is correct. Well said. I am a Plymothian living at Plymouth again (now back after 38 years away at Hampshire). I support Plymouth Albion (rugby), Plymouth Gladiators (Devils), and sponsored a Plymouth Argyle player. I contributed money to raise Rasmus Jensen speedway rider a few years ago. I saw my first speedway meeting at Plymouth in 1961 ... 60 years watching speedway. I have supported/watched Reading, Oxford, Poole, Weymouth, Wimbledon, Exeter, Swindon, St Austell. I have been over to a few GPs and I have watched other matches to Wolves, Coventry, Canterbury, Cardiff, Stoke, Wembley (league and World Finals) etc Speedway is now in a mess and, therefore, all speedway supporters need to keep their faith and support (teams or locations). Therefore, the whingers and those with sour, poor sportsmanship comments. Just really look at Plymouth and the Plymouth Speedway team truthfully ... both are positive. The 2 matches with Kent and Berwick have been great. Great racing, good atmosphere and good attendances (Covid19 allowed). Guests. Yes ... Atkins would have been a great asset this season. Sadly, he has to miss the full season because of a shoulder problem. Many broken ribs for Crump. He'll be back in a few weeks. Goret and Ruml, are new to UK and have had been poor starters so far. Cook is starting to look good. Ruml will be a very rider with a few more matches. Plymouth Gladiators Promoter, Management (now has May) have been through the pains and finances and, now, this club, team and supporters now have a fine speedway club to enjoy and deserve. Yes, Plymouth won't be the Championship titles but wait until the next season. In the meantime, enjoy UK holidays in Devon. Watch to Tuesday evenings at Plymouth Coliseum and enjoy the evening's racing, nice people, atmosphere and Pedersen, Crump etc etc If you would like to discuss everything, a nice chat in a beer at Plymouth, please let me know. Maybe some of the poor comments here might understand things more truthful/correct. Enjoy your speedway ..whether at Plymouth, Poole, Berwick, Glasgow, Edinburgh etc etc ps Wolves are now looking at close down if things do not improve. So .... speedway supporters help everyone.2 points

Speaking of the SIA..... They tell you to wear a mask if you're walking around....but if you're standing still you don't have to wear one ? even though you're within half a metre of the person next to you? What a load 'bo##ox' !2 points

I don't buy all this "for our entertainment" business, some will no doubt want to put a show on for fans, but don't kid yourself it's primarily about doing it for themselves. You can see that by how many riders willingly come round to acknowledge the fans after a race win or close race.2 points

Explain to me how it would work. Here's a couple of obstacles. 18 teams, 6 a side, 108 riders? Fixed race nights would be required Show me how you'd get around these2 points

Well said Barry. I certainly couldn't have put it better myself. There are still so many people out there who still think that we withdrew from the BSPL because of the points limit and that just isn't true. The BSPL will continue to say that all clubs voted in the new points limit, but that is not what we have in black and white from the BSPL, and even if they did, how were they allowed to vote when the two most affected clubs, weren't even allowed to discuss the matter. It was our choice to try and run speedway on the island and doing it from our homes just adds to our problems but our business that we have worked bloody hard to build up with great support from businesses and supporters on the island(and off it), cannot operate under rules dictated by clubs who have no financial liability towards us. This is a very challenging time for Martin, myself and everyone associated in one way or another with the Isle of Wight, and personally I am close to saying it's enough now. All we wanted to do was put on a viable speedway product, the BSPL emposed rules upon us giving an yes/no ultimatum to join the league in 2021. That means, no discussion, nor any prospect of allowing discussion in future years. While we did not agree with the points limit we were not allowed to discuss it - its this or nothing.... We are told that every promoter in the sport wanted it... yet I can name at least 6 who we deal with regularly who will say no such discussion has happened and even if it did, why are their views more important than ours for our league, our business. Of course it is not, but they didnt view it like this. Even to today.... Martin and I have received no communication from any member of the board of BSPL other than the office manager during the time that we wanted to leave. There was no "please come to the office or take a zoom call and lets discuss it", there was nothing... Yes - no, in or out... and like this for years to come. Now we are left in a situation where it is OK for BSPL clubs just to hire and fire riders at will, nomadic club names can used in amatuer events that bring in private hire revenue but cannot be used in amatuer second halves, and rising stars who are supposed to be protected clearly are not. And.... all the time the Isle of Wight has the ability to give these riders more rides, in a safe, relaxed, entertaining environment, and yet ultimately because we did not agree to not having a say in how our league is run while others who have no vested interest in it can, and without a prospect of this changing, rider will have the fear of sanctions for themselves or their BSPL club's and the only people who will miss out are the fans, volunteers, sponsors and riders of our sport. Believe me, while working full time too, running a speedway club is no pleasure ride, there are so many challenges, so much that you will never see or hear of that just makes us all want to stop it. But we love it...nothing gives us more pride when people have really enjoyed the show, or a young rider who we help scores well, or a rider from MFS becomes a mascot, MDSL rider, and so on... but the personal toll that we have to endure and now this increased toll.... its just heartbreaking. Enjjoy your speedway everyone wherever you view it... every club will need you all and all your positivity this and the coming years.... oh and BTW my smiling/laughing face earlier on a previous comment was only because even now people still think the reason Martin and I left was over the points limit, it totally was not... it was over how we were treated (and continue to be) by the BSPL. All the best.............2 points

The BSPL should come out and give an open and HONEST explanation, because at the moment, it seems like victimisation for no reason. Riders aren't stopped from Grass Track Racing or for clubs and events overseas. For whatever reason, this sounds like a personal vendetta without hearing both sides of the story. Nobody on the IOW, whether it be management, sponsors or the public deserve to be treated like this, just because they have the balls to want to try something different. They depend to a large degree on the holiday trade, on an island that has almost zero entertainment for families in the evening, other than walking round Tesco that stays open until 10.00pm. Speedway has stood still for years now, and needs freshening up, and if something different from 15-races and the announcer saying goodnight, thanks for coming can be improved upon, then let them try. So many times these days, people have never heard of speedway, let alone seen it, and if they decide to check it out whilst on holiday (I know I would, as I did with a sport on Guernsey), and enjoy it, then when they return to their respective homes, they might just check out to see if there is a track near to where they live, and go along, and all clubs could do with those extra newcomers through their gates. So come on BSPL, ask for your toys back that you seem to have thrown out of your pram, and work with this promotion to see if their ideas are going to be for the betterment of the sport, and if it's not, then it will be their loss not yours. We've all been in lockdown for a long time now, and if this club want to offer us a different type of motorcycle event, with the main thing being speedway, then they should be applauded for trying to bring our well being back into some sort of normality.2 points

Think you will find that Jason Pipe replaced George English and Darren Hartley replaced Jason Pipe in 2020. In 2021 Nigel Hinchliffe replaced Darren Hartley. So it's just two managers this year. Nigel Hinchcliffe now named as manager on the website. Hopefully they will correct it to the right spelling!1 point

I don’t pay £19. Netflix at £5.99 for films and the rest is a licence fee for a public service broadcaster that lacks scrutiny and does what it likes which I cannot seem to get out of paying. When speedway bothers to put out seven man teams on a weekly basis and not Mr R/R to make up a team and runs from late March to October, uses local talent who grow into a team and have honed their craft and are not gate and go merchants, puts on individual meetings such as the 16 Lapper, then I might contribute to the coffers of the local promoter but given that this sort of entertainment is now confined to history and decent promoters no longer exist I seem to be saving money.1 point
