So the end of the season has arrived . Quite a few not really happy on here . Well I for one think that to get a full season of speedway in the current situation speedway seems to be in is a winner in my book. Some teams have fallen out of the league, some have struggled to even fulfill their fixtures and some have said this will probs be their last season. Have we heard that at Berwick . No. Has the season gone well. Well if it’s results then no but the promotion stuck by the guys they signed before lockdown which is very admirable . And so they should have. You have seen young talent in abundance this season and the promotion are very forward thinking about bringing on the next generation of British riders. I fir one thank the promotion , riders , volunteers and of course the fans for speedway at Berwick and hope we have it next year. To spud enjoy your retirement you’ve been a fine servant to speedway over the years.10 points

Personally I always enjoyed the variety that speedway offered...team, individual, pairs.4 points

I disagree. Poorly marketed product, high cost compared to alternative entertainment, meeting presentation 30 years out of date, dated stadia, lack of household names/world class riders, tracks that don'tproduce good racing...these are all far bigger issues than doubling up imo.3 points
-
Doubling up is one of the major reasons in this country along with guests that is driving people away and makes it impossible to find any national sponsor. It makes the sport non credible. The sport in the uk needs to become a mix of semi pro/amateur with standard equipment in use in our leagues. It needs a major overhaul.3 points

I seem to be in a minority, but thought it was a decent meeting. Passing in at least half the heats.3 points

Hate to think what the consequences would have been there without an airfence. Quite possibly saved Freddie's career and more...3 points

Happy retirement spud How bad is the racing these days at Berwick, that’s twice we’ve been in just over a month and you’d be hard pushed to remember any sort of race.3 points

Haha all's fair in play offs but you're no getting him for Birmingham no needing any injuries!! Yeah I was just thinking that myself that they're getting back to their 2019 form. In all honesty it's good to see both Scottish clubs up at the top. Don't want to draw you though, ashfield suits your team more than armadale!!2 points

Something doesn't sit right with a tiger securing the monarchs a play off spot2 points

Nothing to do with Wozniak- Laguta just misjudged it.2 points

I'm so pleased to see him wearing the King's Lynn colours tomorrow. I'm sorry that issues led to him leaving in the first place.2 points

I couldnt agree more, but the powers that be wont grasp the nettle until its to late, we have to step back before we can move forward again, because of the equipment costs it has to be regarded as a hobby Sport rather than where average riders can earn a living, subsidised by Promoters constantly having to put money in and supporters paying increasing admission costs for very little entertainment provided by riders with no real Team loyalty which has always been an essential part of British Speedway but the BSPL constantly overlook this aspect.2 points

Heat 6 67.1 7 67.3 8 67.2 11 67.0 13 68.5 I too missed Heat 15.2 points

Delighted with the 4 points , which was a must for us last night , but as a spectacle it was a pretty mundane meeting . Riders chased hard , but overtaking was impossible unless the man in front made a mistake . I've a lot of time for Berwick speedway and their fans , but I doubt if I could go and watch that every week2 points

It’s not a specialist track,it’s just a gaters track,most riders don’t have trouble getting round.2 points

Brilliant gesture and Tony Jackson (last Worky manager to win the treble) is coming over and when I offered him a ticket for free he said thanks but I would rather buy one to help the club which was another fantastic gesture... Regards THJ2 points

Hi Leeds Lass , I would contact jskinner@btinternet.com, he runs a website called Defunct Speedways. Both Wally and Jeff Lloyd were great speedway stars and John Skinner's website would definitely contain photos and info. on them both. John is a very helpful speedway historian1 point

How about some new original ideas that’s going to get the public interested - can’t just keep plodding along as we are - next season two rising stars per team no disrespect to the hopefully young rising star riders but it’s yet another devaluation of the product but will admission costs go down ? More likely to go up causing more fans to walk away - new ideas needed promotions need to think outside the box and it needs to be done now .1 point

...unless Brum pick up 5 away points at Newcastle and Glasgow, and Kent win home and away against Leicester by something like 70-20 both matches1 point

Another really nasty crash in two days. This time for Laguta. Clipped Wozniak’s back wheel and headfirst into fence. Awful.1 point

For the final, if that crash had happened again there wouldn’t have been an air fence there as they didn’t replace that end panel.1 point

The NDL racing is generally better because the riders are of differing standard and passing does happen, but looking at race time Blair wouldn’t pass any of the Premiership riders if he missed the gate.1 point

The track has been altered the straits were widened so not such a tight entrance to corners, still only 1 racing line though because the riders are going so fast on a slick track. It’s really just a gaters paradise ,mark your programme at the end of the back straight 1st lap.All the action is on the 1st and 2nd bend.1 point

Disappointing result to finish the season for Berwick, I thought we had a chance to take the points tonight. Poor way for Spud to go out, but he's had a poor season overall. Glasgow looked much sharper tonight than they did in the Cup, especially Sam Jensen. Tom Brennan continues to impress. Rides well wherever he goes and conducts himself well when he speaks in interviews. Has a good future if he keeps going like this. Berwick just don't have the top end strength to compete. On the plus side, there was probably the biggest crowd of the season tonight. Glasgow always bring a big following and create a good atmosphere. One thing that puzzled me tonight, on the Leon exclusion. If it was an unsatisfactory start, should he still be excluded for being the cause of the stoppage once the race has started? Racing was also poor tonight. Struggling to remember a genuine pass.1 point

That looked horrific... Freddie looked like he was knocked out on the bike before he hit the fence.. Hopefully both ok.... Edit. Thank goodness both up..... Air fences worth every penny...1 point

That's what happens when you leave a top notch track like sunny Armadale and spend too long at a second rate ploughed field like Beirut. Would be interesting to see him on a speedway bike, although it's most likely he would end the evening pointless.1 point

Mountain should qualify, he's only just turned 24. I digested the signings now tonight think Lawson is worth a gamble even though he's on a highish average now. Jorgensen should move on now good at home poor away same as previous seasons1 point

Van Straten always will have an eye on the bottom line so this wouldn't surprise me if he's confident Wolves can beat BV it offers the option of the best crowd. If Wolves get to the final that sells itself1 point

When you see the repeated dross that’s served up in the GP,s this year it’s not hard to see why people are giving up on it, if going forward Eurosport put this on subscription channels I can think of a few more that won’t bother including me.1 point
