Would not be happy if Poole postpone Fridays meeting because the want second leg !!!! Not fair on away fans who have paid hotels arranged travel and got time off work .7 points
-
If I was an Oxford fan I'd be hoping it is not true. I'd want a viable operation that stands a decent chance of long term sucess and I fear that running in the PL would not provide that.6 points

If we can run the meeting friday run it and lets get it over with win or lose5 points

If the promotion at Oxford are considering a return straight into the top flight then the authorities need to be alerted as there is a lunatic on the loose. I certainly hope they are not being coerced by the mafia into a league on which they will have no say on the rules just so the "established" teams have some more numbers for their elitist league.5 points

17 years today Hull Vikings completed a treble at championship level by winning Knockout Cup, Young Shield and the League in 2004 , sadly out of the 7 riders Emil Kramer died 12 yrs ago in his homeland in a car crash and Garry Stead is now in a wheelchair following a speedway accident . The other 5 riders were Paul Thorp,Ross Brady ,Emiliano Sanchez, Joel Parsons and Magnus Karlson who brought silverware to Craven Park ,. Great days and great racing back then in the 2nd tier that had 15 teams competing at that level with no riders that doubled up in the league higher back then. The really sad thing is out of the 15 teams competing in that season 9 of them are now defunct teams Hull Vikings ,Workington Comets, Stoke Potters, Isle of Wight Islanders, Rye House Rockets, Exeter Falcons, Somerset Rebels ,Reading Racers & Newport Wasps so the moral of the story is support your local side and speedway or we won’t have speedway to watch in years to come4 points

After multiple rain offs the new dates are Glasgow 24th December and Poole 26th December.4 points

1st leg at Glasgow Tuesday 2nd. Good luck Glasgow3 points

Unless things change at the conference (which wouldn't surprise me) teams are required to have two rising stars next season, so Connor wouldn't fit at 6. Bringing Connor back now would probably make us weak points wise again unless the limit is drastically cut, and Matty becomes 2nd heat leader. A pity, as I would have like to have seen Connor return, as he will only get better. Adam rumoured to be Plymouth bound.3 points

wouldn't it be ironic if it pissed down next Wednesday at Poole and the BSPL declared the result after only one leg ! Poole should run their leg whenever they have a dry day and have a number of Glasgow supporters booked to travel. Suspect they will get nil away and neutrals support for their leg if they keep delaying at short notice in order to satisfy their desire to hold the "second leg"3 points

Of course it is. It’s Rob McCaffrey with his usual anti Poole diatribes. He despises us and his past rants in the Premier section were quite amusing but for the fact he meant every word. No one on this thread or any other Poole thread has been boasting, being intolerable, or anything else for that matter. A bit of banter, well it is a sport, but little else. Heading down shortly. Will Chuck up some clips of track/pits/parade etc. later on my Twitter. @steveshovlar3 points

The most sensible post on this forum for a long time . What is scary is people think they will get big crowds because fans from Swindon , Reading , Cov will go . that never happens in great numbers and never will . Every one who has try to run speedway at Oxford money since 2000 has lost money and broke 3 of them hence why it closed down . As arnieg said find a level that allows them to run for season after season . Talk of top league etc is insane3 points

Dont tar us all with same brush because its not true3 points

What so hundreds of supporters can watch the match but only pay for one stream Sure the Glasgow promotion would veto any such plan3 points

Do you ever do anything but moan? Feel sorry for the Kent fans, who bear the brunt of most of your negativity. Many sports have run at irregular times over the last 18 months. Just take a look at when the 2019-2020 football season was eventually completed. I don't think the speedway season having to be extended by just a few days is going to be the end of the world.2 points

We wont be able to go down next week, a bus going on Friday but people won't be able to get time off next Wednesday or Thursday2 points

Thought 31st October was last day speedway can be run in this country or are the rules being manipulated again.2 points

Too many Poole fans have spent many years destroying the reputation of their club and their decent fans with their arrogance, complacency and borderline trolling. Bitterness is not caused by their team winning but by the attitude of far too many Pirates' fans to success. Their greed for success so that they can patronise and insult other clubs, constantly boasting of their successes was barely tolerable in the bear pit of Premiership discussions but is totally unacceptable or deserved by the far more fair-minded Championship sector. In tier 2 (BL2, NNL, NL, PL). We have over the past half century since establishment in 1968 developed a spirit of rivalry and exchanging of barbs, some witty and some half-way but we maintain respect or the other teams who are our opponents, not our enemies. Winning is enjoyed without rubbing the noses of opposition fans in it. For us winning is not a justification for petty gloating. I know many hoped that the move down would change attitudes. Sadly it hasn't and the sooner you take your poison back to the Premiership the happier our league will be. My team's not even running currently (although I'm doing my best to revive them) so any accusation of jealousy would be pitiful. I have many precious memories of speedway but they are mainly of having fun with friends, not being able to boast of victory. Apologies to the decent fans who do respect their rivals whose reputation is tarred by these people who are not just wrecking the reputation of their club. If you're staying please learn and respect our ways. If not please leave. Take all the trophies you want - I'll even buy you one. Just let us have our fun in peace please. P.S. Thanks for rewarding the efforts by Edinburgh and Glasgow in allowing Pirates fans to watch the first legs of this weeks' finals by streaming the second legs in return. What do you mean they haven't?2 points

anyway back to the subject in hand lets hope we see some good racing tonight from both teams2 points

Unless you have met every Poole fan it is a bit of a sweeping statement. I don't think I would put every single clubs fan into one bracket.2 points

And Poole will stop us this year and someone else the next, such is speedway we've no God given right to win things. That doesn't bother me in slightest2 points

Is that so it gives everyone else a chance to win something!2 points

I'd never thought I'd see the day I'd want Edinburgh to beat anyone but Jesus I'd love to see them stuff Poole tonight. Get them back to the premiership asap please2 points

I remember listening to an interview months ago, on the radio. The chap said that Greyhounds Etc would return and that the Speedway would be run if it was viable, i think that he said that they would start in the National League, to gauge spectator numbers etc.2 points

Exactly how many of the BSPL five year plans lasted more than one season.2 points

Don't think should be allowed to sign a rider who you know is going to miss home meetings IMO. Makes a mockery of the league. Quick enough to criticise grobauer, absolutely no difference if that's allowed. Should go back to NL guest as only facility in such occasions2 points

Why would they do that Glasgow won’t do it if that was the case. That doesn’t make sense.2 points

All clubs have annoying posters on here, look at Peterborough for example! But I don't think I would use it to describe all Peterborough fans.1 point

Poole fans do fall into that category in my experience.1 point

How’s this for a principle: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The present riders (with a single exception) served us well in 2021. Why not keep that team together? There is only one rider who consistently let us down who needs to be replaced. The other six I would be very pleased to see retained. Remember – Sheffield is the only team that could go the eventual champions and beat them by 12 points. TB scored 7 + 1 on that occasion; replace him with a rider that can do that on a regular basis and we’d have a team that could threaten all comers. My team would therefore be: Jack Holder Adam Ellis AN Other Josh Pickering Kyle Howarth Stefan Nielsen Danyon Hume1 point

Im pretty sure the rules this year is that it has to be unattached guests rather than guests from another team or largely pushed that way. From memory i can only really recall Morley coming in for Kent and Coles guesting for Mildenhall. I do think the idea is a positive one....however its largely been made possible by the number of teams withdrawing. RTD must have ridden for most of the NDL clubs this season but if Newcastle didn't chuck it all in would he have been able to do so.1 point

For future there needs to be dates set for various rounds of competitions to be held and if a home track cannot complete the meeting by the set date then they will forfeit the meeting. This season we had Leicester have a rain off in the play off quarter final then being allowed to run it 7 days later which was then cancelled due to an ambulance break down and then ran 3 days later a total delay of 10 days from the original staging date.1 point

The only durrr is you I'm afraid thinking that would ever be an option. Throw in why Glasgow provide for a Poole promotion providing no stream for Glasgow fans just becomes downright idiotic1 point
