The big (& grossly unfair)anomaly regarding riders being paid/not paid is that riders would be in an immediate breach of contract should they refuse to ride because of not being paid for previous work (meetings) done with the consequence of not being allowed to ride elsewhere in UK. Promoters however have no reciprocal action taken against them for not paying their workers/contractors “on time” Whilst clearly this set of circumstances is so that “The show must go on” (which wouldn’t happen if riders withhold their services) it seems appropriate that something along the lines of rules being set where riders must be paid no later than (say) 10 days past the due date and if that payment is not made then the BSPA makes the payment from the Bond fund. The delinquent promotion then has to reimburse the fund within a set period time with interest or face further sanctions. Frankly the only promotions who would be unable to live with this type of agreement are those who are in reality unviable in the first place and need to face the consequences sooner rather than later so the sport has a realistic financial & moral operating base to work within.7 points

That's a pretty crappy comment, don't you think? 1) The rules are posted at the top of the page. 2) The rules have NEVER changed. The site was only ever designed to represent solos. Hence no trace of sidecar fatalities. 3) It's MY site, and I make the rules. If you want to start one that includes people you wish, please feel free.5 points

Thank you for your very kind comments about our meetings. The programme wasn't as planned initially, but in the end we put on an evenings entertainment and our spectator numbers were up despite several logistical problems that affected support from the mainland. I am glad that you thought they weren't rubbish.4 points

The riders concerned will probably benefit riding on a well prepared consistent track at home which will improve their confidence and help their away form aswell, well done Glasgow.3 points

I hope the NDL has a very strong year, with riders who are of the right ability. The BSPL has created an issue by weakening the league this season - not entirely sure how they rectify that for next season. With regards to IOW - did you go to any of the meetings? I did, and they were far from being 'a bit rubbish' as you suggest.3 points

The unfortunate thing about Northside is it is an open site on a dune area under the many windmills. The previous owners tried to enclose it, but the damage just continued being caused by gypsies in caravans alongside the track. They were then cleared off that site, with council help, hence the enthusiasm to turn the site into something that could be developed into a Redcar type site. Even with an expensive spiked metal fence surrounding the whole site, which would not be cost effective, it would not solve the problem as it would probably just provide the gypsies with a new supply of metal which would be stolen on a regular basis. Perhaps a local councillor could help with the establishment of a sport in Workington, as it was thought that with the cockups by the council, and the other stadium owners in the Town, regarding the other stadia, they appeared to have thought that by helping Northside now it would make up for their incompetence previously. Let's hope the council stand by that enthusiasm, and stand up to the thugs who could deprive the Town with a sport facility that they currently lack.2 points

i was told that Hancock and Zager were going to be missing for this meeting and nothing was said all day by either promotion so assumed my source was wrong. So when i turned up at Foxhall to find out they werent in the pits, i got back in my car and drove home...2 points

I know first hand that my friends that visited, thorough enjoyed themselves, and openly said that a straight 15-heats of speedway were very much second best to what was served up on the Isle of Wight.2 points

That reminds me of the time Reading rocked up with a couple of riders missing, we had Rory as a guest, he took off his Witches bib, jumped over to the other side of the pits and put on a Reading bib, and both clubs then ran R/R to make it a bit of a contest2 points

This is pro speedway,,, anything could happen,,, he can probably be our number 8 and guest for the opposition in the same meeting,,, possibly even see himself racing himself in heats 2 and 8,,, Obviously it could get a little confusing if he knocks himself off,, and who gets excluded2 points

I think IOW are incredibly happy away from the mafia and the way they were treated/ hounded i would be staggered and disappointed if they were to consider a return. 5 from last year to return, Iwade replacing Kent and maybe Oxford if they are very ambitious/ have been coaxed into it. Id love there to be a surprise entry but 7 for 2022 with hopefully Eastbourne and Worky to join 2023 would be a decent uptake (providing all current clubs make it that far)2 points

On that basis do you really want to come back to NDL as it is? Imagine what you know now can be developed and put on an even better family oriented show, certainly young children's attention span is only a couple of races, throw different things in, and keep their attention can only be a good thing.1 point
