  1. You twit, im genuinely offended that you would use those names just to make a cheap point. Non of those riders risked their lives or bodies just for our entertainment. They did so because they wanted to, to earn from it and because they enjoyed it. Spectator viewing is just a bye product of that. Dragging good speedway names who have met with harsh misfortune to score a few points off another is nothing short of shameful.

  5. It was obvious we couldn’t fit in Ben Basso from the word go. We are a Wednesday club. How can we sign a rider who rides Wednesdays in Denmark? Good luck to Ben in his future career. I expect him to end up in Poland as the top Dane in 3 years time.

  6. Brennan & Basso will put 3 points combined on their starting GSA's imo Best reserve pairing in the league as well. Things are looking good for Glasgow so far.

  7. Didn’t ride enough meetings hence why he is still on his assessed average.

  8. Having got to an age where I am not bothered anymore going to away matches, I think Aarnio will be a decent signing as he rides the Scunny track well even if his away form is a little suspect, after all we kept Auty for home matches as his away form was generally piss poor.

  11. As has been said above this is disgraceful.... All of these riders have received terrible injuries and worse in the case of Richardson but again they absolutely did not ride speedway for the entrainment, The comment from Sings4Speedway is spot on

  12. So you think this was robs first choice team? 3 riders allegedly agreed to race for us.1we couldn't agree terms with and 2 decided to sign elsewhere.you can't make riders come.fair play to those who wanted to be here they have my backing

  13. I'm pleased Lambert has got a team spot, can't understand the negativity from some about his signing. You know what you'll get from Lambert 6-8 points at home, 3-5 points away, not bad at all for a second string.

  17. Last roll of the cheque book I mean dice from allied HQ for 2022. Team to beat by the looks of it, strong 1-7. Last 3 of course still to announced but they’ll only add to what’s there.

  18. Agreed. Very honest and self-aware. He had a lot in his favour. A speedway family, great role model team mates like Hans Nielsen, talented. He should have joined a big track and got away from Eastbourne. Truth is Dugard, Barker and Norris should all have done better and as three likely lads together, probably held each other back. In all sport though, you can never really say who is going to make it to the top until they actually get in that environment and see how they react. It's not always the most talented who make it. For example, not many of us would have seen Jason Doyle becoming a World Champion.

  20. For a team to be successful you need improvers but that doesn't mean all of them have to improve, so that is the only way I can justify to myself the signing of Lambo & from what the popular speak is Aarnio, those 2 will probably stay the same average or thereabouts, the improvement has to come from Palin, Zaine & Kingsley. Allen & Douglas could go either way, if they improve then the team will do well, if they don't then it won't be pretty.

  22. You would only take on the previous companies liabilities if you was buying the company itself with the intention of continuing that company. In this case, a new company has bought a companies assets and will trade as a brand new company.

  23. If it was a straight choice of Lindgren or Aarnio it’s Lindgren every time for me. Always rode Brough Park well and as that’s where the vast majority of supporters see any team(at home) that’s the matches you need to be winning.

  24. Like I stated earlier the Comets name isn't copyright and it's not a registered trademark so why are the BSPL looking for a fee from it... no one owns it...I'm not even sure they are following their own guidelines... I can sort of see where they might be coming from with the regulation put up by @Marksman 're Chapter 14 Junior Leagues but all they should have said is once you come back into the Champ or Prem you can use the Comets name please use something else for now... after all the junior team was always called the Meteors.... when they had two teams... However in recent times when Brum and Eastie dropped down a league did they drop their main club name? I'm not sure but I don't think so... so I honestly can't see the argument and how they .can enforce it... When Belle Vue moved venues did they change their name... there are precedents to support Workington to be called the Comets that would stand a legal test... Think the BSPL are shooting themselves it the foot with this one... but at the end of the day a name change wouldn't bother me one bit and certainly wouldn't stop me from attending meetings... 25. This is the news for which we have waited since the end of last season, and our very grateful thanks are due to everyone who has wished us well on this forum. Sad that a few posters chose to be negative, but the great majority, I think, are genuinely pleased for us.

  27. Do you not count as an asset if you race 12 official meetings for a club (or was that back in the day)? He raced 9 home meetings (Redcar, Plymouth, Glasgow, Birmingham and Newcastle in the league, Leicester in the KOC and Play Offs, Edinburgh in the KOC and Glasgow in the Play Offs). He raced 6 away meetings (Edinburgh, Redcar and Scunny in the league, Glasgow in the Play Offs, also Edinburgh in the KOC and Leicester in the Play Offs). Poole used R/R for him at Birmingham (League) and Leicester (KOC). He has therefore been listed in the Poole team for 9 league meetings (5H 4A), 4 KOC (2H 2A) and 4 Play Off meetings (2H 2A). I would think that being listed for a team 17 times would make you an asset (some teams only had 22 matches all season).

  31. At least most Pirate fans have been prepared for losing him. As it was fairly clear from his end of season comments. Glasgow fans will love his swashbuckling style - as long as he stays injury-free!!

  33. What's I'm looking forward to most about the side that looks like being put together is that it's exciting. Made up of racers and predominantly young guys who will only improve. Finally no more has beens on "false averages"

  41. You do make some good points but riders like Lambert and Aarnio smack of a lack of ambition, I've nothing against them as riders but there not going to improve and have been there level they are for years now

  42. Oh god not that old argument!!!! They absolutely do not risk there lives for our entertainment!! As for being negative why is it negative to expect a half decent side to be made up? I appreciate there's budgets to adhere to but if you charging £17 for 15minutes of entertainment at least try to provide some and put together a competitive side

  43. That septet would collect the wooden spoon. Must be 6 points below the limit! The much maligned Sedgeman would be a better signing than Shanes.

  48. Oddly enough where I was most impressed with Dan was the infamous one heat meeting at Glasgow. He won that heat attacked the track and won in 61 seconds despite shutting off on last lap to avoid lapping the heat leaders!!! If everyone else had approached it same way would've had a full meeting
