Can't believe how this so called banter goes on and on. I know 99% of fan's gloat when they win, and moan about something when they lose, so suppose one way or another over the last 10 year's or so Poole had more to gloat about that anyone, same as all sports really, imagine the likes of Liverpool and Man City have done a lot of gloating over the last 10 years or so. But do any and I mean any real speedway fans want to see the demise of any club? Just seems to me to be a throw over from the social media age, just chuck nasty rubbish out and see what happens, not for me, but some get a thrill I suppose.6 points

And there's the beauty/frustration of Excel. Using the actual figures (as pointed out), after the the 2.5% reduction, it adds up to 42.0015. Round up/down to hundredths, and it's 41.99. Absolutely my error not spotting that, and just reading the total given by Excel, but it shows the anomalies that can creep in. Glad everyone has had a laugh5 points

Mike Parker was a very uncompromising businessman who was much disliked as a speedway promoter, but he does deserve enormous credit for the launch of the Provincial League in 1960. The league transformed speedways' fortunes as it allowed new promoters to bring the sport profitably back to numerous venues. Very many riders of fairly modest ability had been forced into retirement during the slump years because there had been no opportunities for them at the surviving National League tracks, so the advent of the Provincial League allowed them the chance to resurrect their careers. The fact that Provincial League pay rates were set low (I believe the rate was 12/6 per point) didn't particularly bother them since most of them were part-time riders anyway. What could have strangled the league at birth though, was the way that the Southern based teams, notably Rayleigh, Bristol and Poole concentrated on bringing back riders who had only recently retired, which created a definite division between their strong teams at the top end of the league, and those of the Northern clubs who mainly used ex Belle Vue junior riders (even though quite a number were "veteran" juniors, and had no chance of matching their Southern counterparts. All told though, the new league proved to be a huge success, and as a Birmingham supporter with no team to follow at the time, I soon transfered my secondary allegiance from Coventry to Cradley Heath where the racing seemed to be more competitive. What all this has to do with Norwich though, is beyond me!5 points

This league is just about bringing on British talent, winning is not everything.4 points

Really think Glasgow have a decent side on paper with improvements in Brennan and Nichol will determine how far the team can go. . Also love it when the Tigers fans visit us at Scunthorpe the atmosphere is brilliant and there fans although passionate are very honest when seeing good hard racing on the track ,good luck to the Tigers for the coming season as Ulle’s injury last season cost them the title4 points

Just can not believe the way some people go on. Would they be so brave and say the same things if they were in the same room. Every person who support any team in any sport will crow when they win. Natural I would think. Poole who have a very loyal supporter base have been going since 1948. They have had their hard times as well as successful times. They are now one of a handful of teams in the South. Thankfully Plymouth are going from strength to strength thanks to hard work and providing an attractive product. Think of the all the flack they have taken about the size of the track. Oxford are back thank goodness and I hope they are successful. I am sure they will. Gone are Trelawny, Exeter, Weymouth, Somerset, Newport, Swindon, Reading, Eastbourne plus all the London cubs Hackney, Wimbledon, Rye House, and Lakeside. Speedway is the most important thing to survive in the South. Therefore rejoice that Poole are still there3 points

We’re under the limit but remember.. this team lead the league until the final week… narrowly missing out to Mildenhall! All we have done is replace Ryan with Ace. We all realise it’s likely to be hard for Ace to start with but he will be giving time and support to enable him to develop I’m more than happy with the Bullets3 points

If another rider agreed to do the away ones, I wonder if they would sanction it? A while ago they had doubling up riders sharing one of the reserve positions, so why not do it in the no1 position? *no idea what Tai's average is*3 points

That would be one for the promotion to answer not me. It has no bearing on whether the team announcement method was a good idea however. You know that but for some reason you’re insisting on trying to sound like a marketing strategist.3 points

At least it’s their own money they are using.Unlike other Promotions that went to the wall ,leaving their debt behind.2 points

You see... That is EXACTLY the 'out of the box' thinking that the sport needs... We currently have adhoc guest riding now, so having it already planned in as part of "THE PLAN" can only be a benefit for the sport... Bomber and Scott could be time tabled in to ride Monday to Sunday for every team, rather than having them do so on such an adhoc basis like currently exists.. We will obviuosly need another "go to" guest now Rory has retired so "feelers" should be put out to see who wants this incredibly important position in UK Speedway.. Maybe send your idea to the BSPL Lefty...?2 points

Good luck this season, Ben. Great to see you are now clear of your injuries from the end of the season. Time to grow in stature and status within the team. Will watch your progress1 point

Anyone else think we’re getting a big name at number one from the statement rogers put out? I really hope so.1 point

We don't both know , i have no idea what you are going on about.Nobody cares about speedway in this country apart from us fans. It was said earlier that we had r/r for Smetana who couldn't ride due to travel issues but this is untrue as we couldn't use r/r , we had to use a low average guest.1 point

A 1000m track like the one at Jübek is a great venue for Flat Track racing. Much better than the tiny 300m track at Nordhastedt, which is just to small and narrow for the Flat Track bikes.1 point

No, nobody arguing. Just pointing out the anomalies of the maths - especially when using Excel. Anyway, it provided a laugh for those who are really interested1 point

Be live streamed I assume. Glasgow want to host it, as I understand it BV don't as have bigger fish to fry1 point

Aye you're right enough, glasgow should've gone to all the hassle of getting FIM approval, setting things up for their specifications, hosting qualifiers last 2 full seasons, got universal praise from those involved so belle Vue can host the gp challenge1 point
-
Perhaps Tai could ride all home meetings for Wolves on a Monday.... and then all Belle Vue home meetings on a Thursday.... it could be called 'doubling up' to help the BSPA (L) to maintain the sports integrity.1 point

Coventry, have some of the worst fans in speedway. Gloating when they win and bad mouthing when they loose Who exactly reacted happly to the demise of the Bees ? You really are a sad person if that's what you want to happen. It also makes you know different from the so called Poole fans you alleged were gloating when Brandon closed.1 point

Berwick happy to announce their Bullets riders, but unwilling to name their 7th Bandit. Has he been signed or not.1 point

pretty sure they will have mason back he’s a great rider and he is also a club asset and rode really well last year ,being under the points limit doesn't matter for Berwick NL team it’s about giving their riders track time and having fun along with racing also with no pressure on them1 point

I doubt many Poole fans wanted the demise of Coventry, I loved trips to Brandon, seeing Andreas Jonnson fly past Tony Rickardsson and Leigh Adams was a sight to behold. Yes we had a rivalry but the sport needs that. I am very sad it has gone.1 point
-
Yep, hope that proves to be right. Last year Bates was a liability from the beginning and Proctor was vulnerable, so if this 7 can gel and still be a team come end of June with no debates about changes going on, happy days!1 point

Didnt everyone say this about him last year? personally cant see the fuss in him at all, Brennan on the other hand could well put two pints on his1 point

With the talent he has had over the years you would have to be a lemon not to win it.1 point
