Weather permitting I will get a few more this weekend me old pal... but it is going well and thanks for asking... Over 100 metal posts concreted in around the outside ready for the actual fence (and the air fence) and the pits gate got hung as well... Back this weekend and I will get a couple of snaps (which may include the seating areas with a bit of luck) Regards THJ7 points

So we came down for a few days break and planned to go watch the Speedway later. Called of early so I hope they have called it right or its another annoyed supporter who wont be coming back3 points

I believe it is limited to just 6, but may increase next year if Swindon re join the Premiership.3 points

Sedgmen 14 from 5 rides at Oxford tonight probably better than gating tart Ellis would have scored3 points

Having earlier not been too impressed with Tatum as the lead commentator, think he has settled down and relaxed into and is doing a much better job. With Chris Louis they are turning into a decent partnership.3 points

Looked gash in one of the televised Polish 3rd? division matches recently and wouldn't become an asset. Get well soon Rene. So unlucky with injuries.2 points

That's a shame to hear about Rene,,, it might mean that Newcastle just have to muddle along until BWD regains his fitness?2 points

He asked to leave Leicester from what I hear. Assume he may have done same with Ipswich2 points

Absolutely baffling decision in heat 15 putting Shanes in ahead of howarth. Cost the brummies the match.2 points

Despite being down to three riders, Holsted still win!2 points

Dont think turnip on the centre green is going to be possible - he will probably take root!!! ps. Danny Ford explains the early decision in the Echo online. Plenty of days/dates available to reschedule2 points

It's a lot more difficult for me. Anyway not that I have to explain myself to anyone! I go when it is possible for me to go.2 points

Michael Fish has predicted the heavy rain tonight, so should be spot on2 points
-
Are you for real? The decision was taken early as the evening forecast is for rain and with the possibility of thunderstorms. Now if the forecast turns out to be inaccurate then have your say.2 points

Someone has already quoted that Rowe rode last night in Poland. So Ipswich must have dropped him for now.2 points
-
The problem is cost. The way squad systems operate in Poland and Sweden particularly, is based on being paid for the meetings you ride, and a healthy signing on fee as a retainer for your services if you don't ride. The UK essentially doesn't pay signing on fees at all, and it's main attraction to riders is that you should ride every available meeting bar injury or dramatic loss of form. In Poland particularly, 2 bad rides and your replaced for the meeting and as many have found out, won't ride again that year. Squads just don't work without funding and we all know the UK doesn't have a pot to pish in2 points

Anders rode in Poland last night and scored 8+2 from 5 rides. Hope that illness doesn't reappear when he's next in or around Suffolk.....2 points

As I have already said no one is against the consortium putting their money where their mouths areThink we all know where the problem lies2 points

Everyone is trying their best to make it happen... here's hoping for next season... Regards THJ2 points

That's unfortunate, aren't they both in the same team??? Really gutted to hear about Rene Still one of my favourite Diamonds I've watched1 point

Is that Keegan re signing for the Iron, or replacing the injured Kinsley for the Scorpions?1 point

And obviously you know what is happening in pits slumping over your computer, dope, proper fans are absolutely sick of your comments, totally negative and quite frankly unwelcome and if you want to make yourself known to me personally about your reference to my son in post on earlier page I will welcome your pathetic response1 point

Those line ups will make a more exciting meeting than most championship ones I imagine. Anyone who hasn't tried it needs to give it a go. Unfortunately I live near the south coast and too far, but brings back memories of some great competitive meetings when Eastbourne were in the NL.1 point
-
Just one person with one camera but I’d actually prefer to watch the whole meeting with this set up than any of the camera angles we got on Monday! You can actually see Howarth and Riss passing and re-passing here far more clearly.1 point

I'd like to think it will be rearranged before October! Trouble is if you rain off early, you should have waited and if you wait and the forecast is right then why did you not rain it off earlier.1 point

King didnt fancy it on the MX track with his wrist.. another dodgy call off from Poole1 point
-
Considering they were at Plymouth last night ,why would they want to call off.Given predicted forecast can see why decision was taken.Time will tell if it was the right one.1 point

Yeah, the other problems are a possible thunderstorm but at least heavy rain hitting between 7-9pm!! Not all Poole riders are nearby, Steve Worrall has a long way to travel just to sit and wait for the heavy rain to hit1 point

On me way south via London to the Pirate Ship Hope the wet stuff holds off1 point

You ain't alone mate....I don't think any speedway fan in the country would've predicted Sedgemen to score more than Ellis would have!1 point
-
Fair play to Sedgeman who may have finally realised he's in last chance saloon in UK and needs to apply the talent he's always had. It was a greasy track that suited gaters and he made a start every race. We shouldn't heap pressure on him to do that every week, if he scores 7 or 8 points its job done. First visit to Oxford since the late 80's. Good Crowd, appreciative home support too who don't just seem to be there to see the Team win with some good banter. Restored my faith a little and I may have found a second home of sorts as although a longer trip, with likely traffic chaos around PB worsening if I get a clear run down m42 and 40 its not that much worse than sitting on m6 Car park every Wednesday. The new track shape at Cowley is excellent and like the way they've moved the Pits and made it visible and not hidden away.1 point

It's the same with people saying we should have a squad system, where do the riders come from?1 point
-
I suspect that Peterborough could be stopped from using him as the integrity of the sport must be upheld!1 point

Track length - 300 mts Straight width - 11 mts (approx) Bend width - 14 mts (approx) Hope that helps1 point

Us speedway fans are a fickle bunch and I include myself in that well done Sedgmen1 point

That's the only line he seems to ride, it has been said on numerous threads about the Ipswich riders don't seem to watch which lines are working during the meeting.1 point
-
I get that, but loyalty wears thin when the team isn't quite as attractive as you first thought or were lead to believe. Speedway isn't a charity and times are bloody hard for a lot of people. And times for the club have just been made even harder.1 point

The rule is that if a rider has a 3 point or below average in the NDL at the start of this season then he can ride in the NJL, if it is above that then his points don’t count. Therefore Ace’s 9 points count as he is new to the NDL, Bens points did not as he averaged above 4 last season. I believe both Berwick and Edinburgh will be using riders who’s points will not count. This will be because of a shortage of 500 cc riders which will be a major issue for the whole sport soon.1 point

My brother told me about this last night, it looks much worse than I thought it was. I’m absolutely mortified that in this day and age companies can get away with it, but that’s the way this country is these days . There’s zero real policing, this government don’t give a monkies about proper planning or what real people want. If you can afford it you can get away with anything these days. It’s the destruction of my teens and early twenties, it is sacrilege.1 point
