But they shouldn't have to move the cut off point.I think by the 22nd of September all teams have had adequate amount of time to get all league fixtures done.We have had one of the driest Summers in years and yet there is still league fixtures to fit in.Shambolic is the word that springs to mind.Too many weeks have gone by with no fixtures.especially during the Summer holidays. There is no excuse for this to happen.7 points

One incident with Palm Toff, and he's fencing someone every week, what a load of crap6 points

To be fair to them... Since the 28th of March when the Premiership ran the first League Cup match... There have only been 54 days available on a Monday and a Thursday to complete 10 home meetings... In fact, only 52 when you take the SON break out... What chance did they have? Expecting them to run 10 meetings over this time would be asking far too much especially as every rider in the league would be available every single Monday and Thursday due to priority race nights... We will be expecting them to invent fire next....5 points

The most sensible thing to do for credibilitys sake is Sheffield forfit against Ipswich and give them 4 points. This should be made a rule,,,, I bet teams would re arrange their fixtures better in future if that was the case4 points

Every thread does... Poole fans spread across the forums faster than Covid!4 points

How does an Edinburgh v Leicester topic end up talking about Poole ?4 points
-
At least Poole don't have Danes fencing/blocking their own guest team mates eg Flint!! Or failing to turn up after 'aggravating his injury' no doubt whilst doing commentary for Danish TV!!!? Still at least it saved Plymouth the air fares!!! Suck it up Buttercup!4 points

Totally shambolic and is part of the reason I (and many hundreds perhaps thousands) no longer attend The "top" league is not even sufficiently organised to get what is about half the traditional number of fixtures run Meetings that have a material impact on finishing positions and therefore the pairings for the league title deciding play offs not being run within cut off timescales is simply unacceptable at any level of sport let alone a fully professional top level4 points

Wouldve been time for a double header - probably could fit in the missing heats of the A fixture too......3 points

Literally hilarious that you trying to make out Lawson is a dirty rider. Is it April 1st??3 points

Give over, lawson far from a dirty rider3 points

Yes but until last night you could argue we had a better team last season apart from the the Cooks who were awful at Leicester last season. They have improved alot. Incredible performance from Ben.3 points

We’ve 6 teams in the league for Christ sake, how we’ve got to the stage where there are outstanding fixtures to squeeze in when we’ve had between April and mid September is ridiculous but here we are. To ride play off meetings with pairings that could up being the wrong pairings is embarrassing.3 points

Tonight could be fun at Sheffield 1, if Sheffield want us in semi they will want to loose tonight. 2, if we want Ipswich in semi we want to loose tonight. Say if that’s what both teams want could be an interesting 15 races. Slowest times wins lol2 points
-
Sadly nothing on the meeting for Wolves dead rubber for them - will help for average reduction as well - protecting there selfs for the play offs - im sure come the semis they will be a very different side . But we’ll done the Stars on there win2 points

Picture the scene... The meeting goes ahead in the rain, and heat 9 has just been raced. Riders come out for heat 10 where we all know once completed the meeting will be abandoned and result will stand with Sheffield leading. Then the air fence deflates all by itself... the highly trained Sheffield track staff are unable to fix the issue, the match has to be abandoned without a result as the curfew hits... If Carlsberg did speedway....2 points

Because they take over every thread, unfortunately.2 points

Wembley hosted league racing in 5 decades (1920's, 30's, 40's, 50's and 70's), Odsal in 6 decades (40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's).2 points

It's quite amazing really when you consider the long hot summer we've had and only 6 teams in the league and here we are struggling to fulfill all the fixtures.2 points

He's no Nicki P tbf! Still think they were just going for same bit of track. But I will let you have it if you can find the other examples of him 'fencing opposition riders most weeks, esp Danes.' I mean if it happens most weeks can't be hard to find can it?2 points

So, you're saying he did do it?2 points

Not sure the move to the hounds was in his thoughts at all. Never heard any suggestion of that before. The rest I agree with though. For the six years he ran it, he upgraded the track and stadium and always invested heavily in the team (not always successfully). The end was always inevitable given the Bradford City fire and the scale of redevelopment required of a wooden stadium, the value of the land in Manchester and the relatively limited income potential of running a speedway/stock car venue. I also understand he had a divorce from Pat to pay for? Hyde Road, Plough Lane and Brandon are the nearest the sport has had to iconic venues....and they were all allowed to slip into the wrong hands and outside of British Speedway's control. The sport never has had any vision or long-term coherent strategy....hence its lost its most cherished assets. It's still a miracle the new Belle Vue got built. Chris Morton and David Gordon deserve a medal for that at the very least.2 points

Sometimes, that has probably been the case. However, that doesn't have any bearing on multiple accounts, blatant spamming, and constant posting of copyrighted material - despite repeated warnings. You can't blame that for his own bullying and abusive behaviour (for which he got banned), or deliberately inflammatory posts. Or his refusal to acknowledge people who have tried to help him. A lot of his posts ARE intended to cause trouble, and I don't understand why...1 point

Whenever it is the Witches should aim to get as close to 15 points as possible With just 10 meetings making up 2023 averages 0 from 5 or 6 rides for a couple of riders will make a huge difference to how attractive they are as signings for next season...1 point

Funny, you complain about everyone else, but you think it's okay for John to irritate, antagonize, spam, troll, insult, and generally piss off everybody else?1 point

This is an Edinburgh v Leicester thread and Poole posters have taken over another thread. Anyway I fancy the Monarch’s for a narrow aggregate victory and the best derby in speedway awaits in the final.1 point

Belle Vue's attempt to buy a trophy may backfire drastically, Must be paying out ridiculous money this year. Abysmal showings around Sheffield, Would fancy Ipswich to batter them around Foxhall too.1 point
-
As much I have enjoyed watching them progress over the last few years, I think in order to continue their development they need to spend a season riding a different track to Leicester week in and week out, ideally a Belle Vue, Scunny or Redcar type circuit.1 point

Yeah, didn't we knock them out of both SF last season? Dickson must really hate us haha.1 point

It is shocking to get to this stage of the season and they can't complete the league meetings by the cut off date to determine the final league positions. An even worse case scenario would have been if the team in 5th had a chance of getting into 4th but didnt complete their meetings in time.Things need to change going forward, will they i am unsure on that.Too much self interest in our sport still.1 point

well done good memory, its Garry clegg. now bloody 62 years old. And still enjoying my speedway. I thought i might have been remembered for all the tracks that closed down after i rode for them,.1 point

And why not? They may need a guest in the play offs so it could keep his season going... And guesting in play offs can bring a higher premium given the clubs willingness to offer a larger incentive than a normal meeting... Given the whole season uses guests ad nauseam, who have all subsequently influenced the current table by doing so, it really is almost disingenuous of fans to complain towards the end of the season how these guests then shape the finish of it... A bit late in the day for fans to question the credibility of a system that doesnt have any, after spending months being quite accepting of it... I am sure Bomber will be keeping his bikes in good condition and his phone in his hand at all times...1 point

Is Pickering riding for us on Thursday or Wolves?... As it's hard to see which team he's on1 point
