I do, Kasprzak was dropped as he could hardly score a point for Poole, came back with Rye House and scored a paid maximum…..totally taking the pee!!!5 points

Hope that's the case Lewy. I've developed quite a soft spot for both Plymouth and Berwick in the Championship. I've watched maybe three or four streams from Plymouth this year and always watch out for their results as well. Good luck for next year!5 points

Very impressed with Luke Harrison last night, he has come on so much from watching him in his early NJL days. Would be great to see him full time with the Bullets next year, build the side around him, Ace Pijper and Mason Watson. Greg Blair for entertainment and a Kyle Bickley / Luke Crang to score top end points and pass on advice for various tracks. Been another entertaining year for the Bullets. One of the best things to happen to Berwick speedway in a long time.5 points

Jamie Courtney's welcome words last night: "The Bandits will be in the Championship next season, the Bullets will be in the NDL. The Academy will continue to give opportunities to the next generation and Duns will continue to go from strength to strength"4 points

what or who are you hiding from ? you dont need 2 moaners in your team . the current one is enough !3 points

Whilst you have the overriding clause in the regulations which states The BSPL directors have the sole right to approve or not approve a declaration then it matters not a jot what’s in the rules.3 points

Who would be cheating? If Plymouth win we would go down on record as finishing 4th instead of 6th that would be the only difference, Leicester and Glasgow have proved over the season they were the best 2 teams in the league.2 points

Brain cell mate as in singular. Im surprised he can put a sentence together.2 points

Who's been tapped up then? Anyway Ford has done plenty of that over the years so I'd probably keep quiet. Glass houses etc.2 points

1) to make it cheaper so the likes of Eastbourne or Workington would join? 2) to spread the top riders around so the likes of Birmingham & Newcastle being far weaker doesn't happen again? 3) to help the best NL riders step up? 4) to have a bigger gap between Prem & Champ and a smaller gap between Champ & NL? 5) to encourage clubs like Leicester, Poole & Glasgow to step up? Tbh a lower points limit isn't needed so much for next season if the Champ are missing 2 more teams, meaning the top riders could get spread round more evenly!2 points

As soon as Brits clinched 3rd in heat 18, I was hoping Edwards would get a shot in heat 19 at least!2 points

T*t like you is singular last time I checked a team was not singular. So that just confirms that you are indeed a prize A t*t2 points

Have to agree on that, think that once it comes to play offs an unattached rider has to take a bookings for 1 side only and if they go out its no further bookings until the next season.2 points
-
It’s a bit of a joke if the play-offs are decided by who can book the best 3.00 unattached reserve and then hope they honour the booking!2 points

When the RS was introduced I did an extensive article in the Star examining past schemes to encourage young talent. They came along about once every seven years and apart from the odd vestigial trace all had disappeared within two years.2 points

I think most of us want Sheff to win due to how Belle Vue cheated this year ,2 points

Always sad when a track closes down but what went on at Swindon was despicable with lies upon lies and false promises.2 points

Hi mate unfortunately due to 250cc commitments for the period of time after he turned 15 until after the cut off date it was impossible to sign for any club as he would of been unavailable to much1 point

I can remember visiting Swindon on the Birmingham Supporters' Club coach one Saturday night in 1957. and watching the Brummies battered to the tune of 77-19 and just to compound our embarrassment, the Birmingham Team Manager didn't get to the stadium until the second half scratch races were underway, and had the team's race jackets with him, so our team had to race without wearing any body colours! Monday's Daily Express carried the back page story that the Referee Cecil Telling had sent a report to the Speedway Control Board suggesting that Birmingham should be thrown out of the league. Ironically, in the return match at Perry Barr on July 31st 1957, the Brummies became the first team to defeat Swindon in a league fixture in what was to be the Robins Championship winning season - only for the Brummies Promoter Les Marshall to come to the microphone immediately after the last heat to inform supporters that he was shutting down the Perry Barr track and withdrawing the team from the league. This was the last league match to be staged at this particular Perry Barr track for the next 50 years (although there was of course, racing at the other Perry Barr Stadium between 1971 and 1984, and at also at the Bordesley Green track.I vowed to never set foot into Perry Barr Stadium until speedway was restored there, and I stuck to that until it did come back in 2007. My condolences to all Swindon supporters on the loss of their team and track. I wish you all every success in your efforts to get both of them back.1 point

I'd probably say they're trying to discourage teams from signing guys with averages of over 8.5 and forcing them up into the premiership, which I know is what a lot of people have called for on here. But if money in the prem doesn't make up for the loss of earnings in the champ and they can't get rides abroad will they just chuck it? Sure sedgy that said it wasn't worthwhile in UK unless ride both leagues.1 point

Yeah, just checked. Exactly 5 for October. Bargain average if you can get him going! Will be interesting what Glasgow do if no Basso or Cook, they have a higher average than any of Poole's top 3!1 point
-
The others I understand the reasoning - although I’d ask what you think Craig would do, given I reckon Glasgow would like him back based on his average - but why wouldn’t Hume be back? No one seemed disappointed in him?1 point

Arthur Westwood was optimistic about staging Provincial League speedway at the Luton track in 1937, but when that was not possible, he turned his attention to opening a track in Reading, again without success. Undeterred, he looked at re-opening the Tipnor track at Portsmouth only to be frustrated for a third time. Portsmouth did stage a couple of meetings later in the year. It proved to be fourth time lucky when he finally got permission to re-open Hall Green, Birmingham. Les Bowden and Cecil De La Porte were included in the Hall Green team, both originally destined for Luton.1 point

"17.4 Substitute Riders The substitute rider may take the place of any programmed rider at any time, within the maximum number of permitted heats (five heats) when decided by the Team Manager. There will be no tactical substitute rider or Joker rule for this championship." Think substitute rider is definitely the number 51 point

The rolling aves are from the last 3 seasons, 19,21,22. So anyone with an average from 2018 wouldn't use those figures for a rolling ave, would need to race 3 home & 3 away to gain a new ave.1 point

Putting aside the who signed who lets look a the last times the teams rode each other at each others tracks Belle Vue 5th September Belle Vue 54 Sheffield 36 Belle Vue had their full 1 to 7. Sheffield Klindt replaced Musielak and scored 12 points from 6 rides. Sheffield 22nd September Sheffield 57 Belle Vue 33 Sheffield had their full 1 to 7 Belle Vue had Rider Replacement Fricke and the team scored 6 points from the Rider Replacement rides. Overall Aggregate Scores; Sheffield 93 Belle Vue 87. Although Sheffield won those meetings on aggregate, I cannot see Musielak matching Klindt scores, and Lambert will score more than double the Rider Replacement score at Sheffield. For me Belle Vue are rank favourites.1 point

Very well put. Am sure many would agree with that - he has been a great asset to UK Speedway over the years. A high speed Ulle was always great to watch and gave his all. Like many great riders though - serious injuries have blighted their careers and with Ulle the last two seasons in particular have maybe signalled to him that it was time to bow out gracefully. Always enjoyed his races with Glasgow, Peterborough and others before. He might actually make a good T.V. pundit in future like Tony Rickardsson, Sudden Sam and Chris Louis as he had a wealth of experience behind him ? Happy retirement and thanks for the thrills !1 point

Yep. The minutes from the meeting contained that letter from him saying the dogs were closing. GI saying they aren't. So someone is lying. If Gaming are blagging and making TR look a liar then why doesn't he come out and call them out. The only person who has shown any sort of aggression towards the GI BS is Tomlinson in that statement he released after the news broke but time will tell if SBC stick to their guns so I won't get too hung up on that. The whole thing stinks and no one has done any sort of proper investigation into it. Its just accepted that we have folded and they will expect it to go away. This is where the adver or the local news need to step up and ask some proper questions to the club, Gaming and Tommo and get to the bottom of what exactly has gone on. It's very clear the only people suffering are the fans. It all seems to have worked out perfectly for everyone else involved.1 point

What I don’t understand is how Terry Russell has the right to close down the speedway. if he says he can’t make it pay then at least give someone else the chance to take it on. the situation stinks and definitely looks like a big brown envelope has changed hands somewhere.1 point
