  1. With respect to a tin pot club like Grudziadz, we we are the Peterborough Panthers.

  2. That would be good mate it's fantastic ,been able to manipulate the rules openly is a good tool to have in your locker. Beats paying a rider to do 1 lap then use rr all season (worlds worst kept secret )

  3. Your sounding like Ben Basso Fan there.. As WTF said you have it all wrong. If Tomalin bought the club and backed up what he said there wouldn't be a problem.. You might of well had Holder and Tungate. Talk is cheap, and where is he now ??. Very quiet...... MT f@cked up by jumping the gun on Holder, trying to undermine Buster on the Holder signing, and bragging about buying the club and cocked it up .Buster then went and got NP @£3.5k a meeting. If i was him i would of got a bum and told the fans why... I feel sorry for him if im honest..

  4. You’re about 180 degrees wrong on that. If you had any idea how much harm Tomalin and Johnson have done by promising what they can’t deliver and how much Buster has stepped in and covered their backsides so you actually have speedway at Peterborough you wouldn’t be jumping around like you are.

  5. The Colt's racing filled the gaps well... The Triumph Owners Club was a "bit different" from the run of the mill meeting presentation.. And the National Anthem gave the meeting a bit of "gravitas".. The five and six man races were definitely good to watch and also maintained interest for at least 8 riders through the meeting.. Also noticeable was how many Aces fans were wearing club colours ranging from hats, caps to replica tops, and fleeces... The Aces seem to have got their act together off the track in this respect.. Still lots of opportunity for fan engagement, but the Aces do look like they have moved forward in this area.. The track is a huge bonus which should underpin everything else they do... A very professional set up at the Aces I would suggest...

  6. Mate you’re way off here. Buster has bailed you out more than once in recent years, and even built you a title winning side the year before last. The disrespect he gets on here from some of you Panthers fans is staggering. Be careful what you wish for springs to mind here.

  7. Time to make amends with Tungate and throw Buster under the bus if we have to, Just pin the entire blame onto him. Not being nasty but the team is already proving to be a disaster after one meeting and it's all down to Buster because the Nicki P situation doesn't arise if Tomalin got his side and Worrall wouldn't be having shockers in a Panthers race suit either. Would Holder accept a team place if Tomalin and CJ had a word with him and explain that it was all down to Buster and that Chris won't have to deal with Buster in any way, When it comes to payments and stuff because they'll personally take care of it. If not then we've got to pay Dudek the money he wants because we can't chuck the towel in after one meeting.

  8. What an awful poster this is. It’s 2023 and people are still running with the “no brakes no fear, fun for all the family” line. Why not go the whole hog and advertise the opening match of the season with two guests too?

  12. If I was Michael then everyone would know about it via a statement on the clubs website because I wouldn't sit back and take the bullet for someone else's decisions. I'd go full on Antonio Conte mode.

  13. I never said he couldn't,I just said he struggled with the 3rd bend at times and when he fell it was more often than not on the third bend. Anyways we've got speedway back so let's enjoy it and hope the all riders stay safe.

  15. Raised the question of why must the highest average ride at 1? Shane rode at 3 and 5 vast majority of his time in the stripes, I believe he hated riding at 1 memory serves. Yes it means top riders clash in heat one but given best racing occurs generally later in the meeting is this best time for them to clash?

  17. I am honestly not Scunny bashing, I usually attend as an away supporter when Redcar are in town and your club definitely need a ring master. Roy Clarke does a fantastic job for the Bears just as he did for the Diamonds. He is the type of character Scunthorpe need with his mixture of Speedway knowledge and humour. Your announcer is probably a very nice guy and his voice is a dead ringer for Jonny Vegas but sadly without the wise cracks. Honestly there is an atmosphere at Redcar that draws people in everyone is so friendly fom the guy in the car park to the promoters and owners and if all of that could be replicated at Scunthorpe your fans would love it !! After all you have a great track and great facilities.

  20. Really enjoyed that, the racing improved after a slow start. A fair bit of rustiness on show but a competitive meeting with the cream rising to the top in the later stages. Always a great speedway experience and night out at the NSS.

  30. The only promotions i can ever recall giving a hoot about the MDL sides were Barry & Martin (IOW), Kevin Jolly & Rob Henry (Mildenhall), Dale Allitt (Kings Lynn) and Laurence Rogers (various) the rest as you correctly stated have bee run by fans/enthusiasts who gave untold hours for the cause and received very little back. The list of NL/CL & PL graduates through the MDL was vast at one point now that number is rapidly declining and the only real routes are NJL and youth rounds. Fast forward 5 years and the NL will consist of riders who still own a bike rather than who makes the grade.

  31. They were discouraged, I suspect. All of the MDL teams which I saw - some years ago now - were run by fans and enthusiasts, not by the promoters of the EL or PL teams. And when the BSPL got rid of the 'ghost' teams, that discouraged them even more. As I said before, the promoters weren't interested; when a fan asked a promoter if the Long Eaton team could ride at Perry Barr, he lied and said that the planning permission only allowed for 20 heats. This is not true, it is 21, so the present promotion is able to run MDL teams.

  32. Poland also use rider replacement for when any of their top 3 averaged riders are missing where anybody can then take a RR ride.

  35. Probably best not to suggest that the members of the Triumph Owners' Club were on Harley Davidsons...

  36. They don't usually start the closures until 10:30, so if I attend a league match at the NSS which finishes by 9:20 I can usually beat them. But for that reason I won't be attending any televised meetings this season.

  37. Quite right. Testimonial’s were rewarded for service to a club, not to the sport. A farewell meeting upon retirement I understand - but not then return a year or two later.

  38. Think reserve performances could have a big bearing on both meetings too and I wouldn’t be surprised if Cookie went through the card at both venues.

  39. Those line-ups look very boring / standard. I'd like the team managers to think outside the box a bit more. For example, if the Italian plumber was more consistent, we could move Kye to no.2 and form a powerhouse opening pairing. Move Lasse / Jacob to no.3. For Glasgow, move Brennan to no.2. Vissing rode at 5 during his Monarchs' days, so no reason why he couldn't cover there. Let Nowak and Basso knock 10 bells out of each other at 3 and 4. Entertainment for the paying punter if nowt else.

  40. If they didn’t change it then no one would ever have a testimonial in this day and age

  41. Start at 7:15 with the practice and then first race scheduled for 7:30 - that’s that issue solved.

  42. I don't doubt it, all that work literally down the drain. It seems to me that rained off meetings are more of an issue these days than they used to be (and that's not to say that they hadn't used to be an issue). But it seems that the window in which the Speedway machines of today can operate is becoming smaller and smaller. Maybe the sport needs to look at some sort of wet weather setup for the bikes because we've all seen meetings being cancelled/abandoned in recent times where we've said I've seen them ride in worse than that, only the worse than that is becoming less and less with each passing year it seems. Ultimately this will effect crowds, especially on opening night, sometimes I get it, the weather will win and there is nothing you can do about it but I think as a sport we really need to get to a position that if the weather is fine at the scheduled start time then there really should be Speedway. I don't have all the answers and I appreciate that cost is a factor as we didn't repair the roof while the sun was shining in our sport but surely it can't be beyond the wit of man to come up with some solution. Maybe Phil Morris will put it on his long list of things to look at.
