Maybe to help out his mate Buster who was left without a no 1. Once he had ridden for the club guests could then be used when he "gave up". On arriving at the Purplecats, he maybe realised all was not well so the crash on a poorly prepared track then gave Nicki / Buster the ideal opportunity needed to leave, all be it quicker than 1st planned. MT silence on the matter speaks volumes imo....4 points

I also think the BSN have done a good job reporting on it and making abit of a story about that. You get nothing of the sorts from the BSPL site and the speedway star.3 points

Ice Hockey thrives on such incidents... In the US they became very focused on losing that image until they got a fan backlash, with the fans wanting such fights to happen, as it added to the spectacle and the intensity of the rivalries.. Speedway clubs willingly share riders with each other virtually every night so making the sport one that generates passionate rivalry will naturally be difficult to achieve, therefore a bit of personal rivalry can add to it..3 points

Oh you are very welcome (said she sarcastically) Thanks for ignoring my reply telling you I could not do so and suggesting you contact Phil3 points

I’d have him in the team over a journeyman like cook any day of the week2 points

No one in double figures for the Aces.. A very solid team effort... Rowe will have the beating of most No7's, so worth a permanent spot I would say.. Mulford can then develop via the Championship and NDL..2 points

That's got BV's season going then. Good performances all down the order. Special shout out to Anders Rowe who looks a decent addition in the RS position - can he replace Mulford permanenty?2 points

Don't mind any option to keep Panthers going, but I'm not prepared to line Busters pockets if we are finished after this season, & a lot more fans will probably feel the same.2 points

I didn't have one in those days and rode everywhere. Bradford and back in a day was the longest journey to speedway for me, 4 hours each way. Always been a biker but got a car when I got a wife2 points

Considering so many teams promoters were not impressed when Plymouth did it last season, I am surprised they haven't changed the ruling on it.2 points

Weather the home team covers the cost of all riders !! Who covers the cost of the away support.. fans out of pocket again & we wonder why our beloved sport is on the downward spiral in the UK .. but thats the great British weather tho2 points

How can his private life be nothing to do with us when he is parading his family life in a reality tv show?2 points

Tomorrow's two scheduled meetings have been called off. The restaging dates are a Sunday and a Tuesday, so looks like they aren't going straight to a default of Thursday every time at the moment.1 point

Not looking good for BV tonight. Could they get Robert Lambert in at reserve? Heard they've side stepped the solicitor and gone for a barrister!1 point

I don't think it'll work but not for those reasons. I can't see Peterborough fans adapting from the fast Showground racing to Wolverhampton trick track, going in reverse racing week in week out. It's a dead idea from the start1 point

Millwall players training outside the ground, with the Greyhound Tote up above them. Looks like you could have a free view into the speedway stadium , as well as the Den1 point

What a load of Boll**** I'm sorry but the Peterborough track is probably the nearest you will get to those he rides on in Poland every week. More to this than meets the eye!1 point

My worst rain-off experience was in 1990 travelling from Ipswich to Reading on a Monday night. I had persuaded my Dad to join me in riding to Reading on our motorcycles, which was an effort considering he only rode in the dry and local journeys only. Having left work and rushed home, checked the meeting was on and the weather forecast seemed fine, I called for Dad and we set off in the sunshine. When we were about 90 miles into the journey and on the M25 it started light rain but darker clouds were ahead. The rain stopped and we pulled off the M25 for a chat - Dad said he was going to turn back if it rained again but we set off again towards Reading when it did start raining again. It was only light so I carried on all the way to Smallmead where it was chucking it down and the meeting was called off (about 7pm). I then had the 2.5 hour journey back in absolute heavy rain, waterproofs leaked at the crotch after a time and my legs, feet, arms and face/neck were soaked and so cold I struggled to move by the time I got home, with a filthy bike to boot! I passed Dad on the way back, on the A12, as he was doing about 40mph due to reduced visibility - I was maxing out at 60mph, visor up. We never went to another meeting together on our bikes although I did on my own.1 point

If you’re going to make comments like that then at least back up the insinuation that it was the clubs fault he’s leaving.1 point

Craig is craig, his issues are well documented and no need to go over them. When he's good he's not only a fantastic Speedway Rider he is also one of the most affable and approachable guys you could wish to meet. When he's not good he can be an absolute dick and be someone you'd be best to steer well clear of. Unlike other illnesses that can cause you to have good and bad days like Migraine, IBS , Gout etc etc, mental illness is not immediately visible and try as they might those who suffer from it can't always control it. That's the nature of the beast of mental illness. I don't make excuses for the guy and I don't think he'd make excuses for himself. I'm sure though that he and millions of others who suffer from it would like a magic cure.1 point

Phil's certainly famous for 'closing doors' - it would take a lot to affect my view on his credibility.1 point

Touche Being there that night in 2017 is something I'll never forget, while part of me agrees that bygones should let be bygones I'm not sure I'd pay to watch a meeting with Holder or Batchelor in it ever again let alone employ them as riders if I owned a club.1 point

When the Aces get dialled in at home they will no doubt kick out plenty of their 15 point plus victories. Similar to Wolves, getting the bonus point should mostly be within their grasp most weeks... When the track gets drier during the warmer weather, and consistent every week during the "peak season" for racing volume, the Aces seem to kick on and deliver larger victory margins... They certainly wont be unhappy with no play offs in October this year I would think as when the track is colder and more damp the scores are often closer.. For me, they do appear one heat leader light and, given the 'number sixes' this year at most tracks, dont look like having any advantage by always having one of their "four second strings" in their tesm at reserve...1 point
