  1. You’ve got a brighter future as a team manager than as a weather forecaster that’s for sure

  2. Kings Lynn are looking for an idiot to join their forum so I have put you forward.

  4. I'm told the Panthers are waiting for the first GP. A lot of riders will realise how rusty they are and they will be on the phone to the Panthers.

  6. A petition (change.org) to save Peterborough Speedway by ensuring that the Peterborough Local Plan policy LP30 is adhered to in any development plan of the Showground (provision of a new facility) would be a starting point I would suggest. Then get the Speedway community to sign it by sharing it everywhere as the Wolves fan has done.

  7. Scunny deserved that bonus point.

  8. I want to start kicking up a fuss and hightlighting what is going on, especially given the way that Wolves are and we seem to be just rollin over and dying, because the Showground as a whole is worth saving, but I don't want to tread on anyone's feet or f*** up anything when something may be happening behind the scenes. So do we start a save the Showground and Speedway group or what?

  9. Bartek nailing someone up the inside at the apex of the turn and running him up the track... Almost like these riders dont ever watch him ride.. Ride narrow and at least make him go outside you, giving you some sort of chance to dictate to him what happens.. Leave a gap inside and he will nail you...

  10. Their arrogance is astounding to the point of something is beginning to smell. Forget about next season, the track and grandstand will be bulldozed soon after our last meeting IMO.

  12. Worth giving Lambert another call because he's been way off the pace in Poland this year. Could be down to him not being sharp enough due to a lack of meetings.

  14. Although it says Rosco is choosing the team I think that is a bit of 'editorial licence' as I'm sure it's down to whoever Poole can attract ( as was the case with Peter Schroek at Oxford) as its Poole who will be paying for it.

  15. The clubs Twitter and Facebook news updates are just about dead in the water now very little response to posts on either but do agree the clubs website should be updated on Pickering - though seems same story with Pboro not getting updates as well wonder what the connection is

  16. Only Poland would think less meetings would improve a riders form! Also doesn't Fricke live here now and has to ride UK as part of visa?

  21. 2 withdrawals. Knudsen hit the metal fence in heat 2 and Piper had a horrible head-on impact with the air fence in heat 8. We've also had Greg Blair exchanging signals with the ref at one point (although the ref was in the right).

  33. You can't market properly what you don't own and have full control of. That's the crux of the problem and has been for decades. How many Tracks are actually OWNED fully or effective decision making by the Promoters / Management of the Club? Glasgow, Redcar; Scunthorpe; Kings Lynn . Excuse me IF I'm wrong but aren't the remainder Owned by Dogs / Stocks / Football / Councils / Covenants etc??.. Most don't even have revenue from basics like Food and Drink. That's a fundamental flaw with the model!

  34. I think the idea that Phil Morris is going to breeze in with a magic wand is fanciful. I was actually encouraged by what I heard from him on the @RoundTheBoardsPodcast and he was choosing his words carefully at times as he couldnt say too much about certain things. He (or anybody) is going to need several years to sort the mess that is Premiership speedway out to be fair to him.

  35. Unlike major sports in the UK, speedway hasn’t any influential folk in its hierarchy. No multi millionaires with influence in business circles are interested in speedway. UK Speedway cannot attract an A list personality to attend the SGP event. The deal done with Manchester City Council is a unique piece of business, which bankrupted the original promoting team, but created an NSS. It is damning that a UK sport stages its round of a flagship event in a rugby stadium rented for the day from a third party. Morris is right in saying UK speedway needs to own it’s own tracks, but with ex promoters suggesting north of £250k to start up - without some big money investors/philanthropists it ain’t gonna happen. BUT there are tracks lying idle which owners have positively rejected the idea of staging speedway ever again. I think the WHY ? needs to be carefully investigated.

  37. Make it that meetings are actually worth winning... Make it a credible offering... Make it worth investing your emotional involvement in... Make it affordable for those thousands who go now and again to attend more regularly... Make it semi pro for the vast majority if it means a significant reduction in admission charges.. Make it cheaper for the riders to participate... Make it a "proper night out" at a well promoted stand alone "event".. Make it a joined up collective national marketing plan with decent budgetary investmemt pushing the sport generically.. Make it that you are not beholding to other leagues and run at the best time you feel can bring your largest crowds in... Make it something that major sponsors won't see as being regarded, by even its own most loyal fans, as 'a bit Mickey Mouse"... Make it up as you go along... (Oops, no, not the last one, I took that from the current masterplan)..

  40. They never called off meetings due to weather forecasts years ago because they could take the financial hit unlike today due to a lot less people attending meetings.

  41. I live a mile and a half from the stadium and it rained from about 3pm to 4:30 then dried up a bit and it's currently raining again with it looking set in for the night... totally correct decision. You must feel a bit silly

  46. Unbelievable how Chapman has not only ruined the track, but the club as well. Despicable man with no regards to supporters, only interested in ripping off fans and lining his own pockets.
