Seriously confused by this ace chat. The kid got what paid 8/9 against scunny, 5 away at scunny and Redcar. That's way above expectations. He has one bad night and all of a sudden it's too soon? Ffs what utter drivel. Like the rest was caught out by a grippier than usual track. He's probably scored more than ablitt did the whole of last season. Ridiculous comments18 points

next time you see riders on a track walk watch them pick up stones and other things off the track i have picked up nuts and bolts washers walking the scunny track plus they use a different shale at peterbrough maybe it’s not screeded before it’s put on the track it doesn't need to be big to inflict damage it’s the speed at which it hits you7 points

Poole beaten for the first time since 2006. Just like buses, two will come along at the same time, and Cheetahs also to win 46-44 tomorrow.4 points

Really don't understand Peterborough fans problem with Richie Worrall. He's delivering exactly what's expected from him average wise. He's not your problem one iota. Iversen & Basso have been poor, Andersen, Worrall are about their level & Cook & Jenkins are above their expectations. If Tungate & Tarasenko gets going they can make a significant difference.3 points

Glasgows two reserves should stick to the NDL : Ace to get the experience and track time to build his confidence without the pressure of CL expectations. Lee should enjoy his racing at the lower level with Mildenhall because he is not going to reach the levels he did before. Lee is also, imo, taking on too many other bookings with added travelling and, I don't care what anyone argues, he cannot possibly give Glasgow 100% either physically or mentally. Who Glasgow would get as replacements is another story and perhaps 3 changes are actually required to make the numbers add.3 points

Made the trip up from Swindon for the battle of the speedway scum bags (only a joke!) The racing was much better than the Robins friendly earlier in the season. Nicholls in heat 4 was absolute class and heat 14 proved you don't have to have a pass for it to be a good race. The team riding by Cook and Newman against a flying Jenkins was very good. Very impressed with the Cook boys. Always a bit jealous when I go to Oxford because of the state of my team but nice to see the good crowds still holding. A rare success story in British Speedway!3 points

Broken finger !!!! I remember watching Kenny Carter being carried out of, and back into the pits with a broken leg at Oxford in a qualifier for the British Final, and it was pretty much drizzle all day and throughout the meeting. Mind you his leg was only broken in 4 places.3 points

Sorry there are some brain dead morons on here who obviously think speedway is about opening the throttle and no real skill Monmore won’t give you fast flat out racing like a Peterborough or Belle Vue but I’ve seen some shocking meetings at Peterborough gate and go but hey it’s fast so that’s ok You only had to watch riders like Loram or Darcy at tracks like Arena and Wolves and then see the same 2 riders at say Bydgoszcz a fast flat out track and these guys have the skill set to do both Those who say Monmore is boring just don’t have a clue about our sport … my home track Ipswich has worse racing than Wolves but is getting better The sport is in a low place so let’s get behind the sport instead of slagging every little thing off The racing was ok the other night only those with a grudge about wolves can’t see2 points

We are just coming over from Peterborough for visual confirmation that no.1 riders are in fact not as rare as dodo’s as we have been led to believe2 points
-
@AlexBrady keep an eye out for this guy, he's very upset about Peterborough. He'll be putting sugar in Artem's fuel2 points
-
Wood won’t stay as the 2 pointer. Be shocked if he even in the team come Glasgow next Friday imo.2 points

The away team is able to challenge if they have riders who know how to use the throttle. Those who only know the open position of the throttle will be shown up. I read an article by Mark Loram. In it he said, riding and controlling the bike, it was all 100% about throttle control. Riding at Momore every week did no harm to World champions Ole Olsen, Sam Ermolenko And Tai Woffinden. Each to their own eh ? Also you should perhaps remember the phrase live and let live.2 points

I'd go for Jacob Hook on a heartbeat. Hopefully he'll learn to ride Berwick, but he's gotta be better than any 2.00 guest for Stoneman2 points

I don't think Glasgow should be in a rush to make changes based on one or two bad meetings. Look at it this way, they've reached the BSN final & haven't even gotten started in the league yet! Not exactly a time to panic. Plymouth & Edinburgh have both recently made changes & I'm not sure either club has strengthened, so I wouldn't panic into making a change after ONE home defeat!2 points

Signing Borke is all well and good, but if you can’t find a rider to score a single point on a 2, it’s pointless, Borke/Fredriksen might get a point or two more than Fredriksen/Hook, but if you don’t have a 7th rider, you’re losing the 2/3 that Bickley was getting most weeks.2 points

I'd def get seats in the main stand on the Home straight if you can. It's shaded and cooler. Plenty of room in the seats and easy access to refreshments. On the back straight if it's sunny it can get very hot and can also affect visibility as the sun lowers. Just my opinion, but I'd def go in the main stand. I've sat in several positions and all good. Use the No.10 Tram (double check the number but think it's 10) and it sets off opposite the Mercure Hotel in Wroclaw centre. Very cheap and drops you at the stadium. One last point as it caught me out the first time I went, you buy your programme outside the stadium. Once you're inside there are NONE available.2 points

Morley strengthens Plymouth at home. Very good around there. Strake’s heart just didn’t seem to be in it this season. A year too long in the sport for him?2 points

I've managed to sort out getting tickets (and had a bit of deja vu from ordering tickets for a league match last year) Ended up going in and ordering new tickets and just amending 1 digit on the identity (passport) number to get it to go through (you need to do that for each person and use the same numbers to then buy your final ticket). Used google pay to facilitate the transaction, which seemed far easier than a couple of the alternatives. The original tickets reserved will just drop off the account without payment at the end of 48 hours. Good luck Rico2 points

I get what you're saying but Basso will come good and he has massive scope for improvement....I haven't got a problem with Worrall but he is just not my type of rider..if he don't make the gate he rarely passes.2 points

Valid point regarding Harris.Berwick was his track, finding Ashfield a different proposition ,he has been good though.Away form is suspect for a genuine No1.2 points
-
He rode well at Redcar, outscored Complin, and Vissing. He's definitely a star of the future and worth sticking with. One other point, for a rider of his experience, Chris Harris seems to have a lot of retirements/ef's2 points

If you reread my post you'll see I suggested 3 changes. I'm sure we could get by without a 2 pointer. Introducing 2 pointers was a joke and I'm pretty sure it was a way of ensuring teams had 7 riders. They've diluted the standard of the sport.2 points

If they do have to start from scratch with a new piece of land(and I know I'm going to upset some fellow Wolves fans)I'd love it to be modeled on the old Dudley Wood circuit.Wasn't a great fan of the club, but their race track was perfect, and even Peter Adams agrees. It wouldn't be based on the Monmore track,it won't then give the moaners nothing to moan about. PS....Belated happy birthday to our speedway team,95 years old yesterday.2 points

Couldn't agree more with every word of this post. I spent a thoroughly enjoyable day, attending the BV Wolves match at midday and then pulling in Panthers v Lions later in the evening, 2 fantastic Speedway matches! I then sat down yesterday evening to watch the Wolves v BV match while dipping into this thread to see what people were saying and I must say it was a thoroughly depressing read, everything from people slagging the Tennis off to the usual slating of the Monmore track. If you didn't enjoy that Speedway match, you don't like Speedway and I question what the hell people like that are even doing on this forum. In other news... I wonder if Wolves find a new piece of land, and let's all hope they do, whether they'll try and replicate the Monmore track or go for a BV style shape, or maybe even a Leicester type hybrid. The "technical" track seems to be on the decline, especially in the top league and for me it's the technical track that makes British Speedway what it is, it's what's attracted riders to the UK in the past, those that have ambition to become better Speedway riders with ambition to become World Champion came to Britain to become better technical Speedway riders.2 points

If hardened fans get into a lather about what's going on, how do you explain it to a newcomer to the sport? Or more importantly, how do you expect a newcomer to take it seriously? And you wonder why the likes of Deano, myself and many others who have been long time fans of the sport are fed up with it now? Anyway, my understanding is - James Wright - he was passed fit 2 weeks ago. Not being "on the pace" is no reason to have a guest or RR for him. Not seen or heard anything to suggest that he's been given another doctors note to say he's unfit again. You either ride him in your team or you sack him and replace him with someone else. As for Dan Thompson, he's not ridden for the team yet, so no facility should apply for him. EXCEPT that there is a "facility-lite" for when "proper" facilities don't apply, so that's a guest up to 75% of his average. But this being speedway of course, the rules are made up as we go along, so basically anything can (and probably will) happen.2 points

Matching the riders up I can still only see a Sheffield win.If Bellego isn't there it makes them even stronger away from home as he is worse than what KK was away. None the less there is a feel good factor at Lynn I'm sure with the signing of Laguta and I can't wait for the match. It's probably the biggest signing in Lynn's history, alongside Henka imo and let's hope Lynn get the support that's deserved for this.2 points
-
Awful post . Lee is an out and out racer he may not be the best but always gives 100%2 points
-
I thought the "no facility" rule meant you had to use a guest up to 75% of the missing riders average & can't use r/r? If so they'd be much better reverting back to Nielsen to use r/r than a 3.82 guest for Dan.2 points
-
It wasn't a particular guest, it was an appropriate guest. You know, a number one that wins at least 3 races on his home (or for that evening at least) track. Strange concept I know but a useful objective all the same. Whether or not the facility should or should not be available is a different issue.2 points

Sometimes you just have to accept you were beat by a better team on the night . Redcar were excellent and thoroughly deserved the win . Good luck in the rest of the competition2 points

Point taken, I fell out of love with football years ago when the money side at the top became obscene. I was a long time supporter of Pompey so not just armchair and loved seeing the Sir Alex era with the bulk of the Man U team being from the youth side, now just the biggest foreign investors win. Anyway I'd still always go for live speedway first.2 points

Just sign a decent no1. That's all that's needed. As it stands everyone is under unnecessary pressure to cover the the likes of cack like MPT at 1. If we'd had Bewley as guest again we'd had won easily, not been 4 points down after one race and Fricke wouldn't have looked like the superstar that he isn't.2 points

You continue to talk utter shyte. When are you going learn numbnuts that you embarrass yourself and the club you support with your endless drivel.2 points

Good Afternoon All, Great to see such a positive reaction to Artem and also to Kye. I do check the forums occasionally and I thought I'd just send a message today to say thank you for the support and we hope to see as many of you as possible on Thursday and beyond - Your support keeps this club alive and I/We are thankful for every single one of you. Totally agree with @Jaizer with his comments about Pijper. I'd even disregard ideas that he was caught out by a gripper track. As a 16 year old on a 2.00 average, he could race in perfect conditions 100% the same as a previous match he scored well on & struggle, that's just the nature of signing a 2.00 reserve. Certainly doesn't mean he isn't ready / should be dropped / should drop down to NL. Besides racing NL only wouldn't help him gain experience / track time as there's not many matches in that league.1 point

Redcar we’re class tonight no complaints we were well and truly demolished by a very good team well done to the Bears great all round display. No back up to Bomber,, Claus, and Tom was our downfall.1 point

Bit harsh on lasse he’s probably the most improved in the side. Only failed to score his average or more in 2 of the 9 matches so far. Away at Glasgow and Oxford both very difficult places to go.1 point

I don't know if Barry and Martin's vision could revive speedways fortunes , it seems to work on the isle of Wight and the Kent meeting seemed a success but nationaly I'm not sure . But what I am sure of is the current running of the sport is a ticket to oblivion. Dinosaurs doing the same thing year after expecting different results. Didn't an intelligent chap years ago say that's a sign of madness1 point
