I said it last year and I will say it again this year - the BSN early bird season pass is the best value for money of anything I have bought this year. Bought it for both leagues this year - fantastic value! And, looking at it another way - the total cost of the early bird pass for both leagues was roughly half what it cost to go to Cardiff for the GP this year - including fuel, hotels and admission, programme etc. - that puts the whole thing into perspective as to what really is value for money - around 50 nights entertainment for half the cost of one night's entertainment. Really enjoyed BSN's coverage this year and the informal nature of it is great - a few bits of banter, a few laughs, and it's made by speedway people for speedway people so it almost feels like you're watching it with your mates! I just received an email, probably along with many other people, from East Herts Council that the planning application to turn Rye House into a community leisure and sports hub and also for retrospective removal of the speedway track has today been refused.6 points

I say the same thing every year, get the league sorted out early so the play off final is over the last bank holiday in August. A chance of decent weather, big crowd, good for the telly, people go home happy looking forward to next year. But no. Every year is the same old farce dragging it out against the elements with riders and track prep looking amateurish at best and then calling it off at heat 10. Everyone goes home wet, cold, fed up. Riders race hard all year for the finale to be a non event with rubbish weather. Never learn.6 points

So here we go, Sheffield don't deserve to be in the final because half their team got injured and it rained last night just before Wolves were going to mount a great comeback and win on the night and win on aggregate5 points

Harris has represented 6 out of the 7 Premiership clubs this season whether it being a permanent spell or a guest booking. Harris has had a permanent spells at Leicester and Peterborough this season. Harris has also made guest appearances for both Leicester and Peterborough this season. Harris helped Ipswich get into the final. Harris will now help Sheffield win the final. Plus Robert Lambert will have ridden in 13 Premiership meetings over the last two years and he may have two league titles to show for it LOL. You can't run a circus without any clowns, The higher ups have ruined our once great sport to the point of no return unfortunately, We used to be the best in the business now we're an Amateur laughing stock hence why the Sport in this country can't attract any new fans.4 points

Speedway in the country? .to my best knowledge Sweden and Poland do the same .And so do many other sports ..surely you must know all that ?4 points

We have successfully removed BSN from iptv services over recent weeks are in process of following legal procedures against those who have stolen our content. Coincidentally, our viewing figures have increased so it shows how much this was hurting us, and British Speedway. Account sharing has also been majorly cracked down on with some tightening of the code. We can also review every account and pick out those who are attempting to share viewings.3 points

Some fair points .. Guests are never perfect but i never seen anyone come up with better way that covers fairness and also make sure people go to watch the match still . i try to defend the powers that be as i understand how hard it is to get the balance right3 points

But yet, the only reason why Ipswich are even in the final is due to a Peterborough team (that made as many, if not more changes than Sheffield) winning an unlikely tie on aggregate against Leicester after improving their team massively. But of course, that was all fine!! Sheffield made changes when certain riders were underperforming, Ipswich didn't despite many fans calling for King (at that point) and Riss to go. Are Sheffield any stronger with guests than with Tai and Tobi, not on paper but could be. Are they any stronger than the first team put together, not really. It is what it is!! Lets just hope for a great close final and may the best team win!3 points

Sheffield finished top of the league last season, i didn't complain that we weren't league champions because i knew before the season started that who ever won the playoffs won the league why we have to go through this at the end of every season i don't understand, if you don't like the rules don't enter the competition, if you do enter it, don't complain about the rules at the end3 points

You can never judge the weather in the UK August was shocking this year You can have plenty of good weather in Sept and Oct . ..its still September now so last night is just unlucky3 points

Been over this a 1000 times..everyone knows the rules before hand. So it means zero how many points anyone finishes anymore its hardly a new thing and everyone understands how it works .3 points

What's pretty despicable is snaffling £90k of taxpayers money illegally. Each to their own though.2 points

Ipswich should have a big lead after Monday anyway... Lambert doesn’t ride Foxhall well at all (neither do Holder and Pickering) and Harris is very up and down nowadays, sometimes brilliant and sometimes awful2 points
-
What average would he come in on.surely get a reduction for the missing seasons.!!!2 points
-
It's amazing Not really..I expect you go back into any season in speedway and put that sort of thing up.if you wanted to. Or you could say he changed clubs once and was guest for two teams in the play offs. But of course that's not so dramatic2 points

All principles are made up "a fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behaviour or for a chain of reasoning" The literal dictionary definition......2 points

I like all the presenter/riders who work with BSN and I missed the pie man when he was away for sometime, Greg Blair is another standout for me who has taken to this work like a duck to water.2 points

That's just too sensible for some of the Ipswich fans to understand2 points

It's a complete cock up. Harris rode in the semi final so he should fall under the same rules as Belle Vue and Wolves riders. It makes no sense that this is allowed to happen. The Rules again are making a mockery of the sport.2 points
-
No assessed averages and that is what Lambert is on, and in the best interest of speedway Harris shouldn't ride for Sheffield having already rode for Ipswich, makes the sport look so amateurish.2 points
-
It's a shambles that Chris Harris can guest For Sheffield having already rode for Ipswich. The rules are making a joke of the sport again.2 points

My suggestion for Sheffield wouldn't pass the forum filters2 points
-
i have asked this question in numerous topics, no one has replied with a solution except Sheffield shouldn't be allowed to be in the playoffs because of their injuries no comments from Ipswich supporters about them using two guests in one match against Belle Vue and one guest in the other Perhaps Belle Vue and Wolves should have been seeded to the final as they didn't need to use guests2 points
-
uninjured V injured jack holder,Tobi ,tai , dan (and vissing) CANNOT ride ...... therefore Sheffield have only FOUR riders fit . what is your suggestion/answer to this scenario ???2 points
-
Yes but you have to admit that gloatlys methodical approach compared to that of Humphrey’s will have made it easier for her to understand and come to a conclusion on the stadium aspect2 points
-
Even more so when a rider in a team that is in the play offs can't guest after their team is knocked out. But a rider whose team hasn't qualified for the play offs is allowed to represent 2 clubs. But hey sums the "sport" up in this country.... Here's hoping Harris has the same incentive as when he rode for the Witches in the play offs .. to do the opposite against the Witches2 points
-
The thing is there's been a hell of a lot of "opinion" presented as evidence... on both sides. It's the inspectors job to cut through all of this crap and make a decision based on actual evidence, and hopefully not opinion presented as evidence. Just because someday says it's evidence hopefully doesn't mean that it's just taken as read that it is "evidence"2 points
-
I know it’s the rules and it is what it is but it does nt seem right for me . But that’s only my opinion.2 points

People go so ott about Harris being a guest. . Just dont see any problem with it at all. Just the normal suspects acting like drama queen's over nothing as normal.2 points

Quite agree Teams can use guests not involved in the play offs BUT quite simple really Harris has been involved in the play offs he scored 10 + 3 for Ipswich against Belle Vue.1 point

I've been reluctant to comment on this because it's been done to death, but if your calculations based on points scored over 20 heats are correct, Lambert would be a major contender for World Champion going in to the last round. Do you honestly think that Robert is the best rider in the series this year when he's been nowhere near in the finals? Bartosz knows how to pull it out of the bag when the chips are down. That to me is the mark of a champion.1 point

Under your format more teams would have less to play for..that's just common sense.People cry to much about the rules and the effect it has .Polish speedway is packed with fans and money etc.but some of rules like lucky loser are Mickley Mouse.omThen other sports like Gp .That has the best driver in the fastest car having a head start over slowly cars with Worst drivers..You can picks holes in any sport if you wanted to..Cricket has a review system that can show you are out but your still not given out . It's easy to do. If the UK had its own staduims and top riders it would be packed each week and no one would care get if Chris Harris was guesting for Sheff in the final.1 point

I totally understand all the pros and cons, but as the regular league matches are run with crowds far less than the play off meetings it could be a case of what you lose on the swings you gain on the roundabouts, unless you dont make the play offs so dont have those two or four beneficial meetings at the end of the season. I think i get the gist that football is awash with money but eventually that will create its own problems as we saw with the fans revolt that scuppered the super league, that will eventually come in by way of the restructure of the champions league, which many fans groups are against. Football is now a business more than a sport except for the lower levels where the money is more scarce. Ice hockey is another sport that decides its champons by the way of play offs but also recognises the efforts of the table toppers too. Whatever the format there are always going to be teams with nothing to play for and their seasons will be over half way through, Kings Lynn suffered this year no doubt so will the Luton Towns. The sad fact is clubs continue to fall by the wayside in alarming numbers, we really need to attract those non speedway fans, first we need a sport that is credible, so much of the sport isnt any more when you throw in other aspects not least making the rules up as you go along.1 point

They had a choice to use Lambert - on a ridiculously low assessed average and unavailable in terms of how the guest rule has always been interpreted OR if he was awarded a true figure They had a choice to use Harris who has already ridden in the play offs No point in anymore debate about either really I will likely be I the minority but I will again choose not to part with my cash to see this as it doesn't meet the principles I expect Enjoy yourself1 point

Not at all..Any one with anyone with any common sense would understand that the Play Offs make the crowds bigger during the season. As it keeps the season alive longer for more sides . thes season would have been over by June otherwise and the staduims would have been empty this has to be explain every year to people for some reason Non speedway fans.? Loads of sports used the same format to decide the champions so pretty easy to understand. What you don't understand is that football is awash with money and have so much prize money and things to play for like champions league etc.So they have the luxury of not having to decide the champions by play offs etc1 point
-
Yes true but it seems some including myself thought there was a rule to stop a rider riding for more than one play off team but apparently that is not the case. Anyway should make a great final and is what most would want.1 point

Nah disagree with you on this one, Harris guesting against Ipswich after guesting FOR Ipswich in the semi is just plain daft.1 point

Came across an uploaded tribute to Craig Featherby by his brother Neil on you tube yesterday that included footage of Craig riding for Kings Lynn and Milton Keynes It was 40 years ago on the 16th September 1983 that Craig sadly lost his life from injuries received in a track crash at the showground Whilst i was shocked it was now 40 years ago i still have memories of that fateful night , The very wet track and atrocious conditions that the riders rode in that night with many saying at the time the meeting should never have been run at all. As a consequence of the fateful crash the control board made it compulsory for track lighting to be moved back from the fence to a minimum of 3 metres The lighting in those days was like a standard street light and if one bulb blew it left a dark spot on the track thankfully theres no issue with todays bright lights.1 point
