Just to Thank BSN for coverage this season, really well done, brilliant quality pictures and a nice relaxing way it’s is presented.Outstanding value for money. WELL DONE GUYS.8 points

What a strange post. Shovlar has been fairly gracious considering, and although he likes a windup, he's hardly pushed the envelope. You've spouted more on here than a thread about your own team losing their respective final - it's odd behaviour. You're - I assume - a grown adult and yet you're wrapped round Shovlar's little finger like a yappy dog whenever he pushes your buttons. As for Richard Lawson, I can't think of a more inoffensive rider. Disliked? Just cause he might have beat one of your team's riders once it doesn't mean he's disliked by everyone else.4 points

I knew as soon as I seen that happen on the stream some outright whopper on here would mention it. Congratulations @SJA you are that whopper.4 points

Would have him back at Glasgow in a heartbeat, but not at the expense of Bomber, which I thought I would never be saying at the start off the season.3 points

To be honest isn't this why fans walk away, rules are only followed when it suits certain individuals. I've managed to ignore all the rubbish that goes on in this sport and just enjoy the racing but with Monmore going I'm losing interest now. Things like this that never bothered me before are starting to annoy me now especially without a team to follow2 points

Yeah I agree 100%, being a Stars fan it’s definitely been tough since topping the league in 20182 points

Really hope this isn't the case but can understand if he chooses to only do the Prem next year. Already a Scunthorpe legend, and I am sure he will be back in the future if not next season2 points

Having to watch Edinburgh this season would drive anyone to drink even a tee total evangelist.2 points

I think on the night just the trophy should be presented. Medals should only be presented to riders who have ridden an agreed percentage of matches through the season ( which of course should have been agreed before the season).2 points

Now that the points limit has been agreed, Peter Facenna has discovered that Vadim has some Scottish ancestry from the ancient (but not very well known) Celtic-Russian alliance. He therefore qualifies for a British passport and will in fact be coming back next year on a 2-point average. From here on he’ll be known as Vadim Gus (short for Angus) McTarasenko.2 points

Has Tarasenko ridden enough meetings to get an average considering the Play Offs don't count...? He could start the season at reserve next year if so.... Imagine the meltdown.....2 points

Crowd was well over a thousand , which for a meeting hastily rearranged twice wasn't bad . The crowd levels at Glasgow are generally pretty healthy2 points

A tasteless thread, love them or hate them, Poole has been the most successful team in speedway and every team should aspire to be at their level, when we lost to Poole a couple of years ago, Glasgow fans congratulated them, there was no animosity, we have fought to get to their level and we achieved it this season. I would hope that some Poole fans would have congratulated the travelling support as there are some really nice Poole fans, lets face it all teams have 1 or 2 that go too far. Poole are not finished yet they still have the KO cup to fight for,and already have the BSN trophy. As for Glasgow, we have put a lot in to upgrading facilities and stadium, and it is not extra money for riders from management, they try to get sponsorship for riders, anyway I am going to enjoy this season and look forward to the fight next season.2 points

I'm puzzled about the comment saying Richard Lawson being "one of the most disliked riders", and also not being happy after heat 13. Think there'd be something wrong if he was happy, just shows he wants to win, can't see anything wrong with that. Richard was also sporting in his comments when interviewed mid-match saying Glasgow a good team etc. Think I saw somewhere a while ago that Richard wants to be recognised for his own efforts and in his own right rather than the Son of God tag, but he's more than established himself as a top rider in the sport and I'd be more than happy to see him back at Glasgow. As any team would, and look at the number of guest bookings he gets, hardly a sign of a disliked rider. Negative comments re Mr Sovlar, to be fair seems to me he's been magnanimous in congratulating the Tigers, fair play to him. As have other Pirates supporters. Think where I'd maybe ever so slightly disagree with Mr Shovlar is regarding Tarasenko. Granted replacing Nowak with Tarasenko was an improvement. But, to quote an earlier post by SharpenRake: "From the BSPL web site, Marcin Nowak's Rolling Average from 14 meetings was 7.16. His real average (not Green Sheet) based on his 10 meetings this year was 6.70. His home average was 6.30 and his away average was 7.25." So still a decent rider and one that was steadily improving. Even so Tarasenko was an improvement in scoring but don't think it was enough to absolutely guarantee etc or that there was then only one team that would win. After all, Poole are a very strong team and did finish top of the league. As with a lot of things the truth is probably somewhere in the middle, that whereas before the Tigers had an edge but at times not quite, signing Tarasenko gave the Tigers a more consistent edge. So yeah it gave the Tigers something of an edge rather than absolutely guarantee the title. Think we can all agree it was a help! Before I forget, best of luck to Poole in the KOC final.1 point

Iversen is coming back also not as a heat leader in a no 2 or 4 role from what I’ve heard .1 point

Some people need to remember that Richard Lawson has been carrying a leg/ankle injury in recent weeks which he will not have treated til the close season!1 point

Harsh re Richard Lawson. In the past The guy wouldn’t count Armadale as a favourite track but this season he was a joy to watch there both for and against Edinburgh.1 point

Atleast Kings Lynn are pushing abit more. Think the stars need a big season to keep the fans happy. They've been poor for too long now.1 point

I’ve heard Harris, Tarasenko, Basso and Lawson have all already signed for Lynn…1 point

I'm sure that there is some truth in that! By the way it's good that we have managed to have a civil conversation which can only be a good thing!1 point

100% Agreed. Although in defence, any club in the same situation would have done the same, just that Cami and his mates were quick off the mark, and although we would have been happier bringing back a 10/12 point deficit i doubt it would have mattered . They were far sharper out of the gate. when we needed to be. Its not been a bad season on the whole one trophy, so far, and two finals , so if we can wrap up the K O Cup i think the whole club will be happy with that. Terry and Garath did a great job with the track knowing what we faced, but end of the day it was all down to getting out of the start.1 point

Indeed. Clearly we are being too naive in believing that the SCB regulations are a reliable source in such circumstances. There is also a big double standard in that Atkins (and Jenkins if fit) appear to have been punished by exclusion from this meeting for doing exactly what Thompson (J) and Ablitt are now doing.1 point

Spot on it’s just Shovlar being a clown as normal the man is just a child trolling for kicks Marcin did indeed get 0 But in the same meeting Lawson and Worrall got 27 between them beaten only once ….. yet in the final they got 17….. Poole fans need to be looking at their performance rather then other areas Did anyone see how petulant Lawson was going back to the pits after heat 13?? One of the most disliked riders can’t think why lol1 point

NDL+ is the most affordable level for the majority... Has been that way for many years but has been avoided, hence teams have been able to pick and choose which league to race in regardless of size and income.. Just like you had stand alone teams in the NDL with a "different agenda" you had Poole and Glasgow (and now Oxford), with a "different level" in the Championship.... For the majority of Championship teams they won't ever compete with the "bigger clubs" who have much larger fan bases and/or sponsors... And, given the issues facing the likes of Kent and Mildenhall, maybe a less expensive product to put out will help them join in? (The IOW too possibly?).. Or at least mean tracks don't move over to NORA, which would be "game over" for the BSPL.. Clear demarcation between the leagues was mentioned last year as one of the aims going forwards, which, given the NDL probably won't exist, only means a clear difference between Divs 1 and 2.. Those "bigger clubs", with Div 1 level attendance's, may have a decision to make...1 point

His temperament was questionable. Saw him knock a reserve rider off after a race finished, because he had the audacity to beat him.1 point

Both are rearranged meetings so usually the senior fixture takes precedence. I'm sure Chairman Rob checked it out first.1 point

I kind of ruled out Lawson as Phil the Ace had him in at Leicester but just checked his average out. At 6.41 (6.57 - 2.5%) he looks a really good signing, especially when you consider how well he rode at Lynn last year (then again everyone did bar the Lynn riders) Just shows, there a definitely options in the middle order (around 6 - 7 pointers), but we need someone to compete in 13 & 15. Need to learn from last year.1 point
-
You don't think nowak could've matched his 8 from 5 rides, which was 5 from his first 4 rides? Tarasenko was pretty average both legs against Oxford. But don't let that get in the way of your flawed logic1 point
-
And you know this how. Anything is possible we could have lost with Tarasenko scoring poorly. It is irrelevant as we won so doesn’t really matter however many times you say it.1 point
-
Let’s be honest if Poole had won on aggregate he wouldn’t even mention Tarasenko.1 point

I guess Glasgow owners wanted to win desperately and saw this Russian chap as the golden ticket, agreed he didn't win it on his own but allowed Brennan to go at 2 making their 1 & 2 very strong and by all accounts they are quite rich no idea what they do but it allowed them to pay his wages which I assume we're quite substantial.Still they won and to be fair some of their riders were quick away from the start which looked like a bucket of slop on the live feed.We move on and we've still got a trophy and one more final to go.We made 3 finals this year still lots to celebrate and I'm sure the Ford's will build a good side next season I just hope all the other teams do.1 point

To be fair , Shovvy said it weeks ago and said it before the second leg. And he has been pretty gracious in defeat I would say. And so he should be as Poole down the years have pulled many strokes over the course of a season!!1 point

It would have made no difference. As soon as Glasgow signed the ringer, the title was theirs. It made no difference which teams Poole had picked. Glasgow upgraded from a rider lucky to get a couple of points away, to a rider who topped the averages, on what, 9.4? . A second string no hoper to an Extraleague heat leader on a “legit” 5 points. From that moment the title was decided and no team, Oxford or Poole, could compete with a team who had got a huge points injection. It was “within the rules”, no matter how ridiculous the rules are for allowing an assessed 5 point premier league rider into the Championship in the same average, so Glasgow did nothing wrong, but as a competition, the Championship as a competition was at that moment killed stone dead.1 point

He’s been a menace of this forum for years. He can give it but can’t take it, remember him quitting the forum when Coventry beat them, he has also stormed out of meetings in a strop when Poole are losing. Seems to have an army of minions though.1 point
