  1. Perhaps difference will be Stewart won't accept sub standard performances and let's the riders know about it when not up to standard. Might get him out the comfort zone he's clearly been in last few years? Pretty strong top 5 considering the reduced limit imo

  2. With Tate and Antti Vuolas signed it’s a great move 2 young exciting riders who will hopefully stay with the club and progress. Looking forward to watching to them at NS

  3. Happy that the Comets are back where they belong, great start to the team building but more importantly many thanks to Andrew. Steve and the rest of the promotional team for bringing back Speedway to West Cumbria. Never thought I would see the Comets back where they belong. Whatever team we put out it’s now down to us the Comets fans to support the promotion and the club in 2024 Give us a C

  5. No idea, but whatever the rights and wrongs that is incredibly cringeworthy and doesn't do anyone any favours.

  6. If that were true, why not give Katie Gordon the number 7 spot? Obviously they want to sign someone stronger, so winning does come into it. Clubs will still want to be competitive - not suggesting this would happen to Redcar, but if a team got thrashed every week & no fans turned up, leading to the club pulling out the following season, there would be even less spaces for developing riders.

  8. One thing he did say that made me laugh. "It's only a 20 minute drive from Wolverhampton when the roads are clear" I'm guessing Brummies Home Matches will start at 3am with a 5am curfew

  9. That is true but their application will probably fail because they are keeping the speedway out and not adhering to the local plan. If PCC hold firm and AEPG can't wriggle out LP 30 then they are going to have to negotiate with Chapman's representatives at some point one assumes?

  10. Will his average go down? Won't he be stuck at 4.00 forever?

  13. Very pleased to have Jye back to solidify the team's home scoring. The Jye who rode home and away against Plymouth, and played a (very) big part in winning the Premiership for Sheffield in their last match, will do very nicely.

  14. Cook as Poole's 4th "heat leader" has an average of 6.22. other teams 3rd heat leaders are Etheridge (5.91), Thompson (6.48), Flint (6.56), Jenkins (5.98), Newman (5.65), Jorgensen (6.39). So Cook is not far behind the best 3rd heat leaders in the league & stronger than the weakest. In a 38 point league, I'd say Poole certainly have "4 heat leaders"

  15. Aside from the discussion of Brennan & Thomsen vs Rowe & Newman. What about S.Worrall & Roynon, that would have come to 37.99. Roynon's surely no worse than Thomsen, but Worrall for Brennan is a decent upgrade imo.

  16. Would be interesting to see his average if you included guest bookings.

  17. With having watched most of the NJL riders this season one rider that has caught my eye every time i seen him ride was Billy Budd he has improved vastly over the year very smooth fast rider and hopfully some team has him in there plans for next year

  18. He would have been one of the 1st picks if that was the case.So it down to how the Team was assembled and there not many Berwick fans reckoned he wouldn’t be back given his circumstances. He was generally poor away last season.

  19. 1) if he was more consistent he'd have a 7+ average & wouldn't fit in the team 2) who would you pick instead?

  20. Loving all this admittance that Poole is mainly a gate and go track……lol

  21. Still time for Brum to sign him up lol

  22. If his gating is consistently good it will certainly help. To quote Danny's own words in the Echo he stated: “I’ve been watching his meetings from last year as much as I can, on YouTube and stuff, and he’s certainly got the gating gloves, which I feel will help him massively He also stated that he has improved as a rider over the last few years since we last saw him in UK. Time will tell, but let's hope that's the case. The reality is that much as i would love to have seen a potential young future World/GP Star, the Champ is now a weaker Lge than it ever was with the 38 point limit and with so many young/inexperienced and also not so great riders lower down. You don't need to be a star to score decent points if you can gate consistently well. I'm slowly talking myself round to accepting him .

  28. Its kill or cure for tolley in 24, no good spunking lumps on crap teams, have a go and do the lot or just dont bother.

  29. I like Kyle (end of season average 5.65. all from reserve) and Anders (5.95) occasionally shows his abilities but to suggest, even in a weaker league they’d score 14-16 points per meeting is pushing it, especially as Kyle would no longer be at reserve. I think your judgement on Tom and Tobias is closer to the mark - 9 to 11. Poole rarely make mistakes and, if they do, they usually find ways to correct them. One of Middlo’s main jobs, as well as “mothering” Tobias has to be keeping Lawson focused on his racing and not allowing him to be distracted by his testimonial. If he can do that, Poole will be close to the top again in 2024

  37. I get the impression that the Tom Brennan move caught them out and were scrambling to find a 4pt rider as they had already committed to Sam Hagon and Max Perry just as a guess….

  38. Connor Coles the next rider to be announced. That’s the reserves sorted.

  43. Zach is improving all the time, I think there is a fair bit more to come and he could add a half a point to his average next season but have a feeling Ben will continue to be the better brother.

  46. Can’t say I was over excited when I heard the name myself, and expected the reaction his announcement has brought about. Have to wait and see but not expecting him to last the season. Time will tell.

  48. Not sure what Joe is gaining still racing at this level. Yes he’s getting laps in, but will have very little racing, especially at home.
