  1. It was not funny when Woffinden fell off ... very few falls are. He picked up some grip and did well to dump his bike into the last bit of air fence on the 4th bend. British Speedway has been crying out for some personalities and, dare I say it, "baddies", but now Woffinden is fulfilling that sort of role, people start moaning! Before the meeting, Woffinden was the only rider I saw who stopped and talked to fans, posing for numerous photos/selfies, before going into the pits.

  8. Sadly this will go down as my dad's last meeting (well over 1500 home meetings at Owlerton) as he passed away suddenly in the early hours of today. He first went as a 17 year old in 1960,the track record was about 72 seconds,he got to see Jack go round in 58.92 aged 81. He was still watching racing from Poland last evening on TV,first Jack's Polish team then when that got curtailed,we ended up watching big brother Chris and Tobi! It pleased him to see Kyle back on form,he liked riders like Kyle, the mainstay of league speedway riders down the years, but his absolute favorite rider was Jim Airey.

  9. You get idiots at most tracks I like to think that most supporters support speedway in general.I go to Sheffield to hopefully see good close racing if we win or lose not too bothered as long as the racing is good and close with all riders getting stuck in and there’s no injuries for me the main thing is that all the teams are still there next season

  10. Careful mate that’s a far too level headed, balanced post for this forum! Haha

  11. Tai held his hand which I think he was implying Scott or Emil hit him as they were close. He knew he wasn’t in the race so pulled off the track. Only to cut back in whilst the race was ongoing and the started doing wheelies. Once the race finished he came to the grandstand and started doing a burnout. This guy is random to be polite! Funny when he fell off though!

  12. Yes never the same after that, I asked him about it a couple of seasons ago and he thought at the time walking again might be difficult let alone riding again. One of those occasions where the whole crowd goes quiet.

  16. To be fair 4BM, can't see Jack taking 6 rides, he hates the place, as does his brother, but suspect Tai might like our track, especially if it's grippy like last week

  19. His bikes are coming over this week but with the GP, the chances of a spin before Monday is looking unlikely apparently. From what I've been told we first approached Kvech after the Warsaw GP but he said no. But I certainly think the influence of Sitera and Topinka played a part in the change of heart, plus he's been having a tough time at Zielona Gora. Big Fil is coming over with him for first couple of meetings I think.

  20. The chanting is definitely out of place at a speedway meeting and when there's just one set doing it,it sounds even more ludicrous.

  23. I've been involved with speedway for 58 years but saturday was my first visit to the "new" Belle Vue, I was impressed with everything the Stadium, track & the racing! I think it's fair to say the best rider on the night won so congratulations Dan. Belle Vue is the best track in the country (thanks to Chris Morton) & is the perfect track for the British Final. Have people forgotten the carnage when the Finals were run @ Wolverhampton! One thing all british tracks lack is decent shale, I'm told the quarry/s that supplied it either no longer opperate or won't supply it to speedway tracks.

  24. Mountain only scored 4 at Leicester a few weeks back though, I’d expect Kemp to score a little more than that

  34. Wozniak hung sayfutinov out to dry there, it could be argued Emil could of stayed on but imo emils forward momentum would of made him hit the fence anyway, so did the right thing to bail, ref got it wrong imo

  35. Really enjoyed last night. Great being a Saturday night and did seem to have a good size crowd especially with the amount of people standing around us in the standing area and looking over the the home straight majority of the stand filled. First few heats of the meeting seemed to go slow then picked up from there some hard quality racing . Brennan I would say is the most improved rider in the last 12 months and if this continues at the same level of consistency you could say he will be right up there next year. Tai somehow pulled it out the bag when it mattered most but was good to see him not having it all his own way showed to me that there is still a little bit in there that can race. Rowe impressed me gave it a good go. I know Bewley won on the night but all three “GP” riders had to work for it nothing came easy for them I would say. Worrall scored well which can only be a good thing for Birmingham. Harris - this guy can still go, makes you proud to be British. Only criticism from me and trying to be constructive for the product and correct me if I’m wrong and it did happen. would of be great to see a “fan zone” meet and great signing with the riders and their merchandise. maybe some racing in the afternoon prior to the event (youngsters and females) etc. interviews on the centre green between heats and grading with past winners 80’s, 90’s, etc just my thoughts

  37. What's the point of having a National Speedway Staduim not used for National Events Especially on TV which produces top Racing not gate & go boring stuff by the the way bewley was beaten 3 times last night and if was a normal 20 heat meeting brennan would have won the title and they wouldn't have been much moaning about home advantage then woffinden had home advantage at wolves for his 3 titles then did he ?? best rider wins on the night simple

  38. Imagine if it was held at Sheffield every season with Tai riding there, or Lambert at King's Lynn, or even Scott Nicholls at Ipswich. Belle Vue fans would start a riot!

  40. Looked like Bewley rode close to Wright's left leg out of frustration as they slowed down. Don't think there was anything wrong with the race, was hard but fair

  41. Delighted for Leon Flint who has qualified for this years SGP2 series after he came through his qualifying round in Macon France last night as I know it was high on his list of achievements for this season. The first of the three finals will be held at Malilla Sweden this coming Friday, the second final will be at Riga Latvia on the 6th of September with the third final at Torun Poland on the 27th of September.

  43. I could tell tales of arguments at speedway but 99% of fans are just genuine speedway fans. As for the bend 2 barmy army (about 6 people) they popped up after Covid I don’t think they’ve been going for long. The rivalry between Ipswich and Sheffield is down to both having strong teams and last years final was mostly respectful

  45. What a complete fool you are , speedway riders get inured daily on speedway tracks all over Europe .its the nature of the sport when 4 riders and machines come into contact during official meetings or practice for racing . The bikes now are faster then previous years, they race on a track with shale on it with usually 4 riders coming into the first bend with a limited space for the machines so there is always going to be crashes and injuries . I’ve watched racing at over 40 tracks in Britain over the years and the chances of serious injuries occurs at all of them .Your digs are always aimed at Scunthorpe or there promotion and is getting tedious I would like to wish Rory all the best in his recovery and hope to see him on a track soon as he has been a brilliant servant to British speedway and first watched him as a 16 year old at Sheffield.

  47. I like football, I pay money to my club, Bristol City, to listen and watch the streams officially available to me helping put money into my team. I do exactly the same with the excellent service BSN provide for us, I pay my money firstly to watch and secondly to pay for the work they do for us and the sport. Shame on anybody who gets by this on the cheap when the sport needs help.
