You can park on the main road (Kirky Lane), which the track is on.. Usually about 80 cars or so park there, on one side, and further up nearer BV Rail station cars park on both sides of the road.. You do need to get there and hour or so before the meeting though.. Also outside the Jehovah's. Witness building, just off Kirky Lane, about 150 metre walk away, usually gets cars parked on that road... The school adjacent as been mentioned already is the more secure option, and is "next door"...2 points

As the rider of his era I'd like to see him learn English and do more meetings outside of Poland to promote the sport internationally or there'll only be Speedway left in Poland. World Champions in the past have generally had a responsibility to promote the sport through their position. You don't have to commit to a league, just show up once in a while in various open meetings across the world.1 point

I agree with you, the pricing is too high. If both days do go ahead I think they had best have a package available to ensure Friday is well attended.1 point

Hope Puk has a brilliant day. Well deserved. Wont forget the winter when Tim Stone signed him as third heatleader on a 9.00 average. I remember he had won the Danish u21 final ahead of Bjerre the year before and just had that feeling he would be an instant success at Newport. Must of been one of the only ones as most predicted he would do well to average 5. He went on to average over his 9.00 assessed figure in his only year in the Premier and was superb everywhere he went. I went to many away meetings that season and don't think I seen him have a bad one on tracks he was visiting for the first time. An extremely good guy, always turned out well and gave nothing less than 100 percent. I think injuries knocked him back a bit, he started to make big strides in the GP's and topped the Polish and British averages for a few seasons before going on a run of nasty crashes. Had he avoided them with the form he was in, its not unreasonable to think he would of picked up more GP wins and podiums. His partnership at Newport with Tony Atkin will go down as probably the most popular partnership at Newport after Wato and Smarty. Hope he has a big crowd and good weather.1 point

There is no "new youth generation" to talk of... Mainly kids go with parents and grandparents until around 11 years old and then sack it off as video games and sports clubs training nights kick in, and then "hanging out" with mates when becoming a teenager is the usual evening time agenda... And any kid who still attends football matches mid week, or weekends, will need to catch up on homework, with not too many prioritising Speedway over Football .. The main opportunity for the sport is to get more "gone aways" back... Those thousands of 40+ something's who "used to go" but got dissilusioned by the sport and simply "gave up" on it... (But still watch pretty much every Speedway meeting on the TV)... Maybe start to listen to those who complain about the Mickey Mouse rules, lack of entertainment, and admission costs, and some may come back..? Much easier to get them older ex fans, with more disposable income, to attend, than expect a 12 to 16 year old attend each week... Anyhow, got my Star today from Tesco's and it again had a barcode issue.. The assistant took a photo of the barcode on her phone and it scanned using that photo... A great read again, what a tremendous production for such a small sport...1 point

Time for it to change of course, but forecast for Sunday looks chilly, but thankfully dry.1 point

Slight change to the lineups. Michael Jepsen-Jensen is now unavailable. Jonas Jeppesen comes in to replace him but he will now lineup for Wolves. Nicolai Klindt swaps from Wolves to Peterborough to replace MJJ. Team managers also announced. Rob Lyon (King's Lynn), Laurence Rogers (Newport), Peter Adams (Wolves) and Trevor Swales (Peterborough).1 point

I would actually disagree on that front, for the Star to survive it needs to cater for the older generation as they are the only people that pay for print media these days. A magazine that caters for the younger an generation won’t sell as the younger generation don’t buy magazines/newspapers and I would imagine (although don’t have the stats to prove it) also are on the lower end of paying for media content that is online behind paywalls1 point

Speedway Star has been an absolute bargain for 15yrs. See them in Tesco's & read them there & then. Took it in the cafe a few times for breakfast & then pop it back on the shelf. I do the same with newspapers too Daniel Smith (SF Troll) still looking for reactions! 😜1 point
