By the time Berwick hold their P&P on the 12th, we will know who the Pairs and Riders champions are unreal3 points

I know you’re hard of learning, but read through today’s postings on this thread very carefully, then when you’ve done, read through them carefully again. Then apologise to Aries who was actually sticking up for you..3 points

He’s clearly replying to Gambo and not you, supporting YOU you monumental cock.3 points

You ring villa Park and ask them where to park. Once the laughter dies down the line will go dead. Why should speedway be different?2 points
-
Pathetic. It will be so fans travel expecting to see him at the Pairs and then turn up to find out he isn't there as he can't be arsed. Absolute sham.2 points

Won’t be going not bothering trying to get a ticket wouldn’t have been that bad as i d be coming over from Sheffield . But to me the whole thing as been diluted with the point scoring system the fact that anyone finishing in the top ten on the night can win the meeting and that this is not the top riders in the world the gp in my opinion has become a joke .But that said I hope that anyone who has got tickets enjoys a great night out1 point

You comment is silly. The capacity is the capacity. The variable factor is the price. Since it sold out so quickly, the price seemingly could have been higher. That's how supply and demand economics works. "What you are saying is like saying, if Ferrari worked harder and made an extra 30 million cars every year, we could all buy a new Ferrari for £10,000. In reality, the supply of Ferraris is limited, and those that can afford to pay for them, get them at the market-clearing price. Re Cardiff, I think it has run its course. The novelty has worn off, and Manchester will be massively better. The big draw of Cardiff was the social side, and when it drew 40,000 the streets were swarming with people and the stadium had a great atmosphere. We used to go every year, but last year was the first time I'd been for 5 years. The atmosphere, both in the city centre and in the stadium was noticeably more subdued. Cardiff's racing is never that great, and its notorious problem of not having enough hotels is a problem when Cardiff is so out-of-the-way for many people. Belle Vue doesn't have the same problems as the racing is superb, and being more central in Britain makes it more accessible. I'm looking forward to these very special meetings on a superb track I can get to in under an hour.1 point

They did hold tickets back in grandstand for the one day sales. they have to. They can’t tell you there will be one day tickets and then say there isn’t any when they are on sale. I worked it out that there is around 400 tickets saved for Wednesday for the one dayers. pricing I thought was a little steep in the grandstand but Bloodyhell they sold way quicker than I thought so they got the pricing right. all they got to do now is use the money they got from this to improve the south facilities before the GP hopefully1 point

Not as Farcical as running it during the season when half the field are second strings.1 point

Over the years the powers that be have made some weird decisions but this one tops the lot ! Holding a major riders championship before many clubs will have even started their season Words fail me1 point

You don't make any sense. The grandstand sold out in less than a day. They can't bring any more people in beyond a full house. If anything, the speed of the sales says the prices were too low.1 point

Yes as there's no sponshersip or TV money, for god's sake speedway fans will argue anything to put the sport down.1 point

I would be surprised if Belle Vue held any tickets back, if they have a chance to sell a two day ticket then you would imagine they would take it. I bought mine just after 10am yesterday and it looked all tickets were available to me.1 point

I will definitely agree it was time to move from Cardiff. Back in the day when crowds were regular pushing 40,000 it was superb and the whole day was great. I haven't been since 2012 but to see the crowds so low on the TV was a shame. It had definitely served its time and I don't actually disagree with it going to Belle Vue. We all know it will be a good GP weather permitting and in fairness your not that far away from the City. What gets me is how they have charged such huge prices for it. If I still lived in the UK, would I have gone? Probably to be honest but it still doesn't sit right with me. Despite my previous comments, I do hope you have two days of sunshine and superb racing and it goes well.1 point

Do you think so? I would have thought it'd be more as the cost of the East Stand will have to be recouped in one night next year. Surely that's the main cost, I would assume any staging fees for 2 GP's this year will have been reduced to help WBD out with the pulling of the plug at Cardiff... who knows 🤷♂️1 point

If they take that attitude then they deserve everything they get... That's like having a restaurant and saying find your own seat... Baffled at that statement ...1 point

Not from an Ipswich point of view or Dan's as he has progressed more by having better riders around him1 point

Red flag when Workington didn't retain Cookie in conjunction with the two years previous to that with other clubs. Hopefully Craig can sort himself out in another avenue. I certainly don't take mental health lightly and the affects it can have1 point

Whilst I am prepared to be convinced otherwise, this should not come as a surprise to anyone. Signing Cook was always a gamble.1 point

I always found as a kid that the star was a brilliant read due to not having the internet at the time. Every Thursday evening it would be full of news that you didn't know about, used to find out about signings every week in it even for my home team. As soon as we got internet on our computer, the star became a waste of time and money as everything in there was already on the internet. It will have interviews and maybe pictures not seen online but all the main news is already out there by the time its released. I do think the star is a great product though. Well presented, neat and tidy. Well it was the last time I seen one. This forum used to be alight during the winter back in the day. I was just browsing various sub-forums on here then and to see it so quiet is quite sad. The main forum on here now is the General Discussion forum, which I think says it all and even that hasn't had a post for over a day. Very sad to see as even though it has its faults, its been the center of the British Speedway fans community for over 20 years. Hopefully picks up during the season.1 point

There is no "new youth generation" to talk of... Mainly kids go with parents and grandparents until around 11 years old and then sack it off as video games and sports clubs training nights kick in, and then "hanging out" with mates when becoming a teenager is the usual evening time agenda... And any kid who still attends football matches mid week, or weekends, will need to catch up on homework, with not too many prioritising Speedway over Football .. The main opportunity for the sport is to get more "gone aways" back... Those thousands of 40+ something's who "used to go" but got dissilusioned by the sport and simply "gave up" on it... (But still watch pretty much every Speedway meeting on the TV)... Maybe start to listen to those who complain about the Mickey Mouse rules, lack of entertainment, and admission costs, and some may come back..? Much easier to get them older ex fans, with more disposable income, to attend, than expect a 12 to 16 year old attend each week... Anyhow, got my Star today from Tesco's and it again had a barcode issue.. The assistant took a photo of the barcode on her phone and it scanned using that photo... A great read again, what a tremendous production for such a small sport...1 point

I would actually disagree on that front, for the Star to survive it needs to cater for the older generation as they are the only people that pay for print media these days. A magazine that caters for the younger an generation won’t sell as the younger generation don’t buy magazines/newspapers and I would imagine (although don’t have the stats to prove it) also are on the lower end of paying for media content that is online behind paywalls1 point

What a ridiculous thing to say. Just because they are being sold, doesn't mean they aren't a rip off. As far as speedway and prices go, those ticket prices are an absolute p**stake. End of story.0 points
