I concur with those who refer to the complete inevitability of this. The minute Entain removed Speedway from Monmore to focus on Dogs and Arena / ARC (or whatever the latest Branding is) mooted building a Dog Track on the infoeld on Dunstall Park, Wolverhampton AW Venue with its massive Stand and Hotel, Perry Barr as a venue was doomed. I have massive respect for Nigel for the money he has put in, money he will never recoup. I have to question his team building and management and his sanity or insanity in terms of investment, but he cannot and must not ever be attacked for his loyalty and commitment. For his own mental health and future prosperity, this decision I suspect will in the longer term be welcome to him. With no appraent progess for Wolves, delays and no clear path yet for Brandon , there still may be a glimmer of hope for Midland Speedway at the new Knighthead / East Side development that incorporates to old Wheels Site. This now has Government / Local Government and massive American Funding behind it. The big problem is that a 65,000 state of the art stadium, a new Athletics Track , direct access to the City Centre and Airport may not be branding wise logical with a shale oval track with limited use, when you add in Casino , Cinemas, Hotels, and top class Apartments etc. If the development goes for major Athletic Events that will require a secondary Athletics Stadium with such world class facilities for Training and Competiton and a new Home for GB Athletics , then may be the current Athletics home at Perry Barr may in 5-6 years time be an option BUT it would require significant funding and Council Support and seriousy what state would British Speedway be in by then. Several other Tracks seem to be hanging on by the skin of their teeth in the face of planning , development and economic concerns, so we could in 5 years be down to a core of 10 or less. Sad times and hopefully Nigel gets enough support in the remaining months to at least break even!7 points

Good to see that you are taking it well though. And breath.4 points

The person I feel a deep sadness for is the legend Brian Buck...it's easy to throw money at something when you're a millionaire...but to campaign tirelessly as much as Brian did to get the club back on track (no pun intended) was an incredible achievement! Thanks Brian4 points

Phil Morris saw this comment and decided we couldn't be having any entertainment and flooded the track3 points

aye he does go around A lot slower the regular drivers are lik eWacky Races. Still say they need to blade it and bring dirt back from fence seeing as the rakes are in a time capsule šš3 points

Mr.Tolley did give it a good shot and uve got to give him that .Sadly there wasnt enough support for Speedway in that area. Well done for trying....3 points

And what some seem forget, is that Lewi only averaged 7.09 in his 13 meetings last season partly due to injury problems. But his GSA was still higher at. 7.76 when you signed him. He's had his knocks, and isn't getting any younger. If you take the 7.09 which he actually achieved in 24, he's not far off, averaging 6.17 and rising. I know Poole only have 5 riders riding better than their starting averages, bloody terrible, so come on Lewi get your finger out3 points

Listen to it yourself: It'd be Riss or Cook and the idea is that three rides for Klindt and one for Kvech will be much more reliable at home and it's almost possible to disagree. If they just wanted to do things on the cheap then they wouldn't have booked a guest for Monday week at Brum.3 points

Luke's task this year is to up his average away from home and as long as he ends the year a better rider than he started we are happy. Boy rode well today whilst still feeling the affects of Wednesdays crash. Sorry he's not getting 15 every meeting to keep the keyboard hero's happy but never mind it's only speedway3 points

Well I was there and obviously saw a completely different match There was some decent racing and the atmosphere was brilliant Maybe you needed to be there And congratulations to jack2 points
-
Surely the cheapest option would be to book someone like Riss,he would probably score a couple of points at the most as opposed to Klindt/Kvech maybe scoring 6/7/8 between them.2 points

Property Development remains the great nemesis that speedway faces im afraid. OK there was huge issues over the viability of Birmingham, but you couldn't suggest Coventry was not viable (albeit supported by stock car racing) but that didn't stop Brandon Estates buying the site and kicking both of them out. Likewise at Wolves, where a viable operation was removed simply because the owner no longer wanted us there. Doesn't matter how many fans you get through the gates. A speedway club in the UK is only secure as their next lease date.2 points

He's probably the best rider around all Championship tracks, to be fair!!2 points
-
No he shouldnāt⦠you clearly know very little about how your riders go around Shielfield if you think that. Richard Lawson should be your top scorer, like he should everywhere, as heās your number 1, and is probably the best rider around Berwick in the league.2 points
-
He was signed on a 6.23 average, so don't know how you can expect 8 points as a minimum? I'd agree it was a disappointing score but sometimes 6+ riders will score 4 points. Wether Poole were lucky or not, they got the win & will be in the play-offs. Edit. I think I misread the post I applied to. Mind you as Kerr was signed on a sub 8.00 average I don't know why you'd expect 8 points minimum. Between 7-9 would be what (from 4) would be what you could expect of him, but obviously hoping for more.2 points

Theyāll probably win tonight and the opinions will be: Lewis Kerr is the worst signing weāve ever made and the sky is falling in because we arenāt as good as last season. Yous should try a season as a Berwick or Plymouth fan.2 points

Kerr was on Richard Lawsonās bike for his third ride. Kinda suggests bike issues.2 points

To be fair its not just him, team riding has become a lost art.2 points

Rubbish. One of the most experienced riders in speedway. Just get on with it. Four away matches for KL, average 4.21 ...2 points

How good it is to see the progress of Dan Thompson, way ahead of some of his higher profile contemporaries, has often been overlooked as far as the GB Speedway team goes, more due to his low (no) profile way of going about things.2 points

MJJ over Emil at Birmingham, Emil not quite fully on it yet. And potentially Zagar over Brennan if he has the same away meeting at Thursday. Rew might have a point to prove as well. Itāll be a close meeting. I couldnāt call it, although obviously Iām hoping witches win!1 point

Its not just the West Midlands though Dean. Here In London and the South East. Wimbledon, Hackney, Eastbourne, Canterbury, Crayford, Rye House, Arena Essex all gone. Only Iwade left. The South West. Swindon, Reading, Weymouth, Exeter and Somerset all gone. Plymouth, Poole and Oxford are the only three clubs from that region who are still running. Then you have to travel all the way to Ipswich and Kings Lynn who fortunately are still running, but Peterborough and Mildenhall have gone. This has all happened since the 80s. Very sad, but this must prove, as much as we all love the sport that is not far from dying, certainly as a Professional Sport anyway.1 point

Incredible ride from Thompson. 45-45, Iāll take that. Almost as embarrassing as Flintās performance tonight is the fact weāll now have a āsuper heatā. Childish nonsense. Draws happen in sport.1 point

Dan Thompson, so no profile he's not even been nominated for rider of the night when he's clearly been the best rider on view!1 point

You have the opportunity to whet people's appetite for the SGP. And they put this drivel out to the world.1 point

The same as the first two months . ie. Just go along and watch the racing, without focusing too much on who wins and who doesn't... The beauty of the sport is two poor riders, or teams, can still deliver some great racing.... (If a promoter chooses to prepare a decent track to race on obviously)...1 point

Mid May and Top 4 more or less sorted barring injuries or a team pulling a rabbit out the hat of a signing - thatās poor for any sport - makes me wonder the next 3 and half months of league racing going to be like ?1 point
