Its unusual for you and I not to agree george but IF (and it is only if for us really as we dont know) the visa wasnt applied for then there has been a lot of misleading going on as the rules are clear. Even if they didnt realise at first (and lets face it that would be a bit hard to believe given the first rider hit with the new rules was Mason Campton) they must have known pretty soon given all the publicity on visa rules and being open would have been a better option. IF the 'if' is correct Thing is, it is not the first time it has happened, there have been countless occassions in the last two seasons alone. I asked why no one complained about it I think it was the start of last season and was told not to be so niave as the person they would have to complain to was...... you guessed it.

Its a shame that even with the changes at Glasgow the news on the club still comes out of Edinburgh SCB is spot on and if you look at it as a neutral you wouldnt expect anything else, you cant have rules bent to suit your own means. All this is assuming of course that it is correct and hasnt been misinterpreted in some way. If it wasnt applied for though I feel Glasgow should have come out long before now and stated it

if you read the bit you agree to when you sign up (!!) it states your initial posts will be subject to mod approval. There is no guarantee someone will be able to approve your post right away! unfortunately this was made necessary by the forum being abused by a minority signing up with multiple identities to cause trouble or on occassion spammers trying to post ads for their 'services' (in fact there was one of those last week). They seldom come back if their initial post or posts aren't cleared and it allows Phil to delete spammers or multiple IDs without them being able to show and perhaps offend. its not fail safe but it has made a massive difference and although it affects the majority of decent folks who sign up it is unfortunately a necessary evil. looking at your stats you arent on mod approval anymore now so you should have started to notice a difference hope that explains it

The lack of 2 year visa - especially after Mason was the one first hit with the rules - seems very irresponsible by the promotion but IF the visa and paperwork had been applied for in October before Joey left these shores (and obviously before expiry) I dont see how there would be a problem. Thats why I am suspicious about it taking so long .

Heather did they not later say that there was an appeal in but it hadnt been decided yet? That makes it seem as though there is something to worry about - if Doyle's appeal failed there is no way Joey's will go through and he does seem to have gone home without re-applying before his visa expired. Having said that I am shocked to hear that Glasgow only had a one year visa for him bearing in mind the Mason Campton situation

There is a major difference between not taking things at face value and telling blatant lies with false untrue allegations. Just as well I didn't hold my breath for an apology for the false slander (as the courts bizarrely call libel on message boards)

Just for the record I never have and never will 'moderate' any topic I have been involved in. Funnily enough this topic HAS been reported although not by you so your little attack seems a bit pointless. Also for the record I acknowledged the report to the person who DID report it and explained why I would not act and they have stated they understood. not sure I understand how registering with a non ISP address causes spam. Either way, it is censorship and control and limits who can join but thats their choice

can see both sides here. Too many people use easy to get accounts like hotmail to stir up trouble so presumably the chatzone decided to reject them to limit hassle. on the other side though a lot of people - myself included - would NOT use their ISP address these days for message boards and forums as these tend to be the things most insecure and easily 'spammed'. My ISP e-mail address only goes to trusted sources nowadays and that doesnt include message boards. It does mean that it is 'select' and you cant claim its not but its their board, their rules and the old addage is if you dont like it....

I thought they might have been the other way round.... if Somerset have to change again I would have thought they would be bending over to suggest Nick to Somerset again to return to the original idea of Swindon and Somerset for him.
