  1. Thank you for your wishes. If I could respectfully suggest that you revert to using the report button rather than pm's for a problem, that will sent a message to ALL mods and the first one available who can help should look at it. The PM system has a limit to how many messages can be sent to any individual no matter their classification on the forum. That does not necessarily mean someone is blocked, just that the limit has been reached
  2. Obviously there is a facility I am unaware of as I was under the impression that it was impossible for a mod to block reports. Unless of course you are referring to the numerous personal messages I got when my father was in intensive care in which case thats is definitely the 'way it goes' because as I explained at the time (incrediible though it may seem), my family are far higher up my list of priorities than any internet forum. And yet again we have another topic taken well off at a tangent. Oh well
  3. speedway is a confidence sport and he seemed to lose confidence and it is a shame. One of the best passes I ever saw was by James Wright - on Shane Parker on the 4th bend at Ashfield which is something very few have managed, never mind done it in style. I admire him for the way he took the decision last year though. It's sad that it seems to have turned out the way it has for him though
  4. Yeah they are probably too busy sorting out other stuff that needs it, wading through numerous reported posts where the reports are really just because the person reporting it disagrees with what someone else says, or even, shudder the thought, they might even be having a life but hey if it gives the chance to make another cheap dig, feel free
  5. Can you give a rough idea when SCB? I've looked back until 16th December in the removed content and there is nothing from you. If you can give me a rough date before then I'll see what I can find out, if you think its after then then you have indeed gone mad
  6. Shame that yet again the real reason for an awards topic gets railroaded off on minutiae Well done Tai on your win and on coming over so well, again, on the video you sent in acknowledging the award
  7. http://www.northampton-news-hp.co.uk/News/Northampton-News/Photographer-airlifted-to-hospital-after-being-knocked-down-by-a-dirt-bike-in-Weedon-20131216115500.htm get well soon Steve
  8. Sad to hear that Matt, hope Steve makes a quick and full recovery
  9. Theo is team captain material all the way, Id be shocked if he wasnt named captain - he is just what we need in the pits, effort, help, pulling everyone together as a team, great with the fans, great team man. I reckon it should be a no brainer, real leadership
  10. Ray, scroll down, make sure you are past the quote box before trying to reply
  11. I suspect there may be a quote problem that phil is working on - he has posted something in the support section
  12. Sad to hear Marcus (and Beverley) have been going through such an awful time of late. Like you, I say best wishes to him for a speedway and complete recovery, thats all that counts just now
  13. plenty logistical problems as well chucks. It may 'only' be 30 miles but transport links are almost non existant on a Sunday. For those on public transport you would probably be looking at them getting in to Glasgow (a lot seem to be from the south side), train or bus to Edinburgh centre then train out to Bathgate or if you are very lucky bus to Armadale. Those getting the train to Bathgate have a good 2-3 mile walk/taxi after that. Then the same in reverse at the end of a meeting, all on Sunday service. Armadale make look 'not far' on a map but in reality, especially on a Sunday, it is
  14. Sorry but thats well off the mark. I am surprised that a generalisation about those with tatts is made as well, I thought we had come further than that. Okay so they aren't your thing, or possibly your generations thing either. They are not my thing and I accept that possibly I am in a minority on that in my generation For the younger generation however, no matter what you and I think, tatts are very much in vogue. You and I sadly are no longer the future of speedway - the kids of today are. They wont judge on his tatts. Its quite common (and tbh its better than 'love' or 'hate' tattooed across the forehead!) And who knows if people of 40+ can listen and judge Tai on what he says rather than how he looks they might get a pleasant surprise too. The lad has been a credit to his family the way he has dealt with the cards he has been dealt over the past few years and is still making every effort to publicise the sport, do his bit to be what he himself said was the duty of a world championship and make himself available to promote the sport in every way he can. Personally I think he should be encouraged and applauded for that rather than judged by what is basically his fashion sense by those of us who are past the 'young and trendy' age!
  15. Err no - no one said for the actual award - its to get him named on the night as one of the two dozen 'nominees' as after all he is a British World Champion. Some people really dont read
  16. I dont think its quite meant that way Keith. Its a court case and an emotive subject so most people naturally want to make sure that things dont get out of hand with inaccurate comments when information is not known. Sadly there will always be people with their own agenda's wanting to throw mud and I assume what was suggested was to stop the mud slingers coming in on the act
  17. is it too early to start the campaining to get Tai nominated for Sports Personality of the Year? Okay we all know he wouldnt get it but surely a nomination at least
  18. Denmark? Sorry couldnt resist. I believe Bech was riding on the continent, Jensen is anyone's guess
  19. Sorry I misinterpreted your first post! Have to say though that Matthew Wethers was a breath of fresh air for Plymouth today and Im glad he was there as otherwise racing would have been even more processional. For his age and experience I thought Connor Coles did well today too. He was on a hiding to nothing and was never expected to score points but was never off Tofts pace
  20. while as a fan I am not too happy at how he has treated the Premier League in general I am not quite sure what your gripe is Former Devil. He rode just enough meetings to become an asset hence giving your club a nice cash injection either in loan fees or transfer fees. British speedway may have been made a bit of a fool of (and opposition fans) but your promotion have done a damn good bit of business for your club. you arent the first club to benefit from it and I doubt if you will be the last unless the rules are changed but even then I doubt if that sort of thing can be stopped. If I was a Plymouth fan Id be congratulating my promotion for getting an asset and potential future earnings for the club. Its only British speedway thats made a fool of itself, not the rider. He has given a PL club a financial boost
  21. I believe it was any referee so they could have called in a local ref if it was needed. One of the track staff who is usually up on these things has stated that Glasgow dont have that requirement any more although the Plymouth website indicates surprise that Glasgow didn't call in a referee earlier. Lots of smoke and mirrors really! As Gordon Pairman reads the board perhaps he could confirm if Glasgow are still required to call in a referee and if so that a local one can do it.
  22. for the hard of reading, I live an hour away, i dont know, I have to rely on the word of people there only to arrive and find you have been at best mis-led. In as simple a way I can write it as possible. Still, you carry on mis reading all you like and having your usual wee digs at me, whatever makes you happy - at least everyone else on the thread can actually read and understand whats being said
