  1. as a blind man in a dark room could reason, if you are that far away from the place you are going, you have no option but to trust what you are told. Only to find out on arrival etc.... Is that okay for you?
  2. I see Plymouth aren't that impressed either. From http://plymouthdevils.co/article-1.html The decision to call off the meeting was made by referee Michael Breckon after an inspection of the track at 1.45pm – just over an hour before the scheduled start time. The Plymouth management were left baffled at the refusal of the Glasgow promotion to make an earlier decision.
  3. Yip two hours out of my life I wont get back on a decision that a blind man in a dark room could have seen coming. I have no issue at all about it being called off on the grounds of safety - just on the timing. Josh had only just arrived at the track and Dak arrived just after we were told - I am sure they and the other riders would have appreciated even a couple of hours off their long journeys. As someone far more qualified to judge than most on here has already stated elsewhere, the meeting was never going to be on so why the farce? Just to clarify though catseyes - the gates werent open where I was
  4. It was six actually Happens sometimes but easily fixed so all sorted now. If only speedway was as easily fixed!
  5. lets be honest fromafar, if they can regroup it certainly cant be any worse a season!
  6. Cookie monster running scared of j-boy...... Is Matthew riding at reserve do you know or is Derek Sneddon ?
  7. I could see Albin in the pits and was very impressed with him and the way he kept working at improving things as well as the way he improved every race. Dak definitely benefitted from the move to no5, he was flying. Theo is a great team man and was an excellent guest for us. Nice touch as well to wear his Glasgow kevlars, pity we cant make it permanent
  8. I was hedging my bets! lol
  9. Its a good point Abbot because you will get two riders who disagree on what provides a 'good' track (depending on if they are gaters or not for one thing), and thats before even thinking of anyone else. I'd worry we would get Ole Olsson type tracks everywhere as well Variety helps the cream rise to the top as well imo. we all might have a go at our nearest and dearest for their 'trick track' (and it is) but the bottom line is it is there to be conquered same as any other track and it gives a different test for the riders to other tracks but as equally valid a test (if you see what I mean)
  10. Think you might just have given a few people nightmares! lol Im tempted to say Peterbrough would be okay with one persona and all their aliases taking up one side
  11. no not at all, they exist everywhere. part of the problem though is instead of saying 'but it exists in x, y, and z' (the majority of which will be 'bigger' sports in terms of appeal anyway), we should be saying 'lets limit the damage it does and cut it down as much as possible and listen' can I just clarify though that I didn't say promoters, I said egos and I see the two as seperate entities.
  12. whether we like to accept it or not there is too much 'little boys club' with egos being massaged by each other in speedway and distrust/dislike/pure hostility towards moving onwards or towards anyone or anything that doesn't comply to their little world. until the egos put the sport before themselves it will continue to decline especially as there are now so many other things to pull on peoples strings for entertainment which are perceived to provide better value. Harsh but true
  13. I hate to see what it would be like if you'd lost lol Morten did look as if he kept himself seperate a bit in the pits during the racing but some riders prefer that, its their way of focussing. The team looked a pretty cohesive unit during the track walk. Mind you, as a Glasgow fan what would I know! lol
  14. I dont want to click 'like' to that cos I dont like the situation but I have to agree with you
  15. Have to say I was very impressed with Heeps today, he really attacks the track. him and Barker are a good pairing Hundreds and thousands, vermicelli or just a flake?
  16. its one thing thats always bugged me - other countries seem to have their teams in place for the following season by the time of the BSPA conference
  17. I suppose they could always follow the 'St Johnstone' route and try and paint fans on bits of wood to make the ground look fuller. If I remember rightly they even gave their fans a chance to pay to have one of the bits of wood done as a self portrait! lol
  18. I agree with you that Garrity is very talented but I think a few have a question mark over his - well attitude isnt quite the right word but its all I can think of just now. If ever a talented young rider was crying out for an older stable hand to advise and guide him on and off track i think its Garrity. Seems to press the self destruct button sometimes but is very entertaining to watch. If he was an Aussie we'd probably have him on a pedestal by now lol(tongue in cheek). I like your Aus idea but financially cant see it ever happening and that is definitely where we fall down - youngsters like Garrity cant do it off their own back. And who would pay Crump?
  19. only just heard this, life would have been much more boring without 'Millardisms'. RIP
  20. Sorry guys I dont mean to be flippant but with the title of the thread I have a vision of a Bugsy Malone style hitman waiting to jump out
  21. Cant imagine Plymouth will be too impressed with him
