  1. It looked nasty on TV! It was good to see them both up on their feet and checking on eachother. There is always a minority of fans who cheer crashes - often if the crash doesn't look too serious its because they think their team will benefit from it. However having witnessed a few serious crashes over the years, including the one that ultimately claimed Paul Muchene, you can tell the difference between crowd reactions, no one cheered that night when he crashed!
  2. I was more commenting on some of the more personal comments which were just in very bad taste and not needed - fans wonder why they aren’t taken seriously well your answer is above! I am surprised given how clever everyone is they can’t read basic body language that’s all! as for his general demeanour - no idea I sit well away from the pits at Ipswich when I go on the terracing on the 2nd bend / back straight so can’t see what goes on in there! frankly not that bothered either I just want to see the racing and enjoy it.
  3. Ok but he was leading Emil - admittedly he got passed but Emil is pretty unbeatable at Owlerton and it doesn’t alter the fact both Doyle and Emil are top opponents but yes let’s reconvene later and see how he has done
  4. Agree never a huge fan of what I’d call filler / individual / pairs events etc but I also used to like the Super National Marathon they ran at Arena that was 12 laps
  5. So Doyley and Emil are not tough opponents - right Ho!
  6. Well I have just watched the full replay - decent meeting I felt - presentation and commentary were better than in previous weeks - I feel Scott was paired well with Kelvin and it improved things - I think some of you just like complaining for complainings sake! one feature I really do like is the highlights from the other meeting segments. as for Hawkins - his arms folded is a defensive posture as he clearly isn’t comfortable being on camera. Not being a natural in front of the camera is hardly the worst crime for I suspect a voluntary position - and with some of the wallopers on here and their comments I can well understand it! If there was nothing to complain about some would complain! great meeting for Josh Pickering he has been good since joining. But - take a bow Emil - great riding the true master of Owlerton - nice to see warm congratulations between him and Musielak after their races!
  7. Inclined to agree here - he was really off the pace against leicester the other week but last night he scored 2 important wins - heat 12 very critcal (home 5-1) as it basically negated any 1-5 they might have conceded in heat 13 with Dolye and Emil - as it was it didn't matter but I'd say that was the moment the match was won!
  8. As far as I am concerned I don't necessarily disgaree with you but all of this is somewhat subjective - some 'professional commentators' irritate me and some don't - I was always a big fan of people like Barry Davies who said a little as possible and let the action do the talking for them. I still feel tho that Tatum is floundering somewhat as he needs a lead commentator a professional like Nige and they havent either found him one or don't intend to, altho clearly he doesn't irritate me as much as some! The presenter Abi - is ok for me, we have had better in that role but we have also had worse. Nicholls does a decent job summarising and as the 'expert' analysis.
  9. Can't not see the Tigers in the playoffs to be fair, as for Emil - with Holder he probably couldn't be fitted in but image him at Owlerton if he rides in the UK in 2024 and the premiership survives into 2024+
  10. Got to bear in mind that none of those are techncially media trained - I know I could never be a commentaor or presenter - I still feel Tatum misses his mate Nige a new lead commentaor with taum as the Co is needed.
  11. seems a tad harsh really, not seen the match yet will watch the highnlights later today, perhaps they should interview some fans after a meeting, particularly a defeat, and see what their faces and comments are like!!
  12. Inclined to agree now - think there is too much ground to make up and none of the top 4 will drop any significant points at home, the Witches need to maxmise their coming matches aginst the Stars but i think it will be too late! Three matches against Kings Lynn - 2 away could define the season!
  13. It has been raining, stopped now but the forecast is for more rain this PM up til 7pm
  14. cheap too! Bright and sunny so far in the Steel City - wont be at this one am going to watch the presentation on Discovery+ - will be at Foxhall on Thursday instead!
  15. Heavy rain and storms this evening - if you are thinking of travelling and I can’t think many will be with it being on Tv check before making that 3.5-4 hr trek!
  16. Getting dixked at home is never fun - from a Sheffield perspective its good to see Ellis back scoring his form was a concern. Stars fans 2023 is over lets hope for better in 2024, the teams looks woefully weak now - Lambert however is a bright spot for you!
  17. Not gonna be there - gonna stick my neck out and say Jason and Emil will claim a narrow win for the Witches in heat 15!
  18. Will give that a try - lets hope the grey suits listen to new ideas then!
  19. I can only speak from the old sky contract - I know the payment was often only a contribution to the lost revenues as so many fans stayed away so it was never an earner and i know one former promoter hated having sky in town as it meant takings were down
  20. as Lakeside we did a free televised meeting as well - huge attendance - sadly most never came back! To be fair to Stan (and Jon Cook) they tried things - sadly both lost to speedway and of course we sadly lost Jon Cook a while back - Duggo is in the US now and I dont think he would ever contemplate promoting again!
  21. so trying to be positive - Josh Pickering seems to have settled back in well Lewis Kerr seems to be a concern now two meetings at no 2 where he hasn;'t scored what I would expect of him given his form since arriving from KL last season. There was local rain throughout the day at various times yesterday and it did rain fairly heavily in the evening and I did think to myself oh this couold stop the meeting. For the record wasn't there!
  22. based on last week - Holder no - Musielak - quite possibly! raning now - should be cleared by later
