  1. I hope it is the Big Al I know, mans a comedy legend and a great bloke to talk too. If its you big man hope you and the missus are well.
  2. Coming up for this one if the weather is kind to us. Should be a close meeting both teams being about equal. Like my trips to Buxton and missing the PL 4s as well. Come on rain stay away.
  3. Worried when I got there, started to rain just as I parked the car, sat for a while and about 20 minutes later the Ice cream van pulled up and then drove away, sat there expecting the worse. The rain stopped at about 6.55 and they opened the door at 7pm, track looked very wet and heavy. Started the meeting on the dot at 7.30pm, and then the fun began the weather had effected the track, turns 3&4 being very difficult but as usual these NL boys put there hearts and sole into and kept coming out. We had a couple of track grades trying to sort out the top turns which helped, Coventry rode the track better than the Stoke team Payne and shuttleworth not getting to grips with it very well, it was quite an entertianing meeting but not for the right reasons, there were a couple of good racing, but most of the time it was the riders getting themselves out of trouble that caused the excitement. Lambert locked up in heat 11 while he was chasing Sarjeant and thats what did his wrist. Enjoyed that really got on with because of the weather.
  4. Im really getting into it now Deano, just been out and brought a dinner jacket and bow tie, just got to get the aston martin now.
  5. Quite enjoyed that, the aussies had some terrible luck, the Yanks looked ok but what are they going to do when the old bloke retires, apart from Nico Covatti the Italians were way out of it. Well done to the Brit lads, they all rode well and pulled it off, straight to the final, looking forward to the second round, not having to worry. Come on Team GB.
  6. I need to point out to you Stan, this was kept quite because we didnt want Phillips knowing we were coming and the less people who knew the better, as it was we had a Judas in our group because the copper told us so. The copper might have looked bored because it all went off without a problem, the Newspaper woman was called by the people who arranged it. No point doings something if nobody knows you have done it. The idea was to deliver a letter to Phillips asking him to set it right, but the bloke didnt care. We did have one result Phillips and his wife had a domestic in front of us, it sort of made the day.
  7. I wish this track was an hour and half closer, Id be there every week, supurb racing.
  8. A bit of info please, I still cant get onto the Brummies forum has anybody esle been able too, it lets you in but when you sign in there is nothing.
  9. Brummie supporter and came up for this one, should have been at Lakeside watching my team in the EL, but this was a far better meeting than I would have seen if the Brummies hadnt closed down. Great action, plenty of overtaking the odd fall, top class riding from all concerned Douglas and Jorgensen awesome riding from this pair, very enjoyable racing, nice people to talk to, well run and professional meeting. Really hope we come back in the PL a far superior league to the so called Elite league, thanks Scunny for a good day.
  10. Got to agree with Star lady, never been to one of these meeting before and it was great, tiny little riders going full pelt, great fun, ran really well and they all seemed to enjoy it, Thompson twins got Joe 9 but last in final and Dan 7 .
  11. Could they stop the meeting when I want a Pee, if I just raise my hand, would it be possible to hold it up for a few minutes. Im sure the other supporters wont mind, Ill only be a couple of shakes.
  12. Ryan was a good servant for British speedway, watched him many times one of that great Aussie team of the 90s, Crump, Adams, Wiltshire and Boycie, not the one off Fools and horses the one who belted Gollob.
  13. Thanks for the information, now if the weather behaves itself I should see a couple of meeting. Looking forward to it like the showground.
  14. I cant see a PM at the moment, I know sue as well.
  15. Hoping to come to this, never seen the youth championships, any idea what time the doors open. Just hoping the weather is going to be kind, looking forward to the second meeting as well. Last two EL meeting I saw were poor hoping to see some good action from the PL boys. Do they do a programme for the youth one.
  16. Dont quite understand what we would do with the money, is it for the riders, the rent, track staff or stadium staff, how would we use it and who looks after it. Not to trust worthy of promoters at the moment following the Phillips saga, lost a lot of money because of those gits. Like the idea in principal but would need a lot of reasons why I would hand any money over to a promoter unless he was hand cuffed to me. Already decided never to have a season ticket again so could afford 10 to 15 quid a month to go into a fund, but would need cast iron proof it was going to the right people.
  17. Mangaged to log on but couldent get to the topics, very annoying.
  18. Bring it on Tony, hope its PL, feeling more positive now.
  19. Enjoyed Cardiff, nice day had a meal in the usual Pub Owain trafedal or something like that very reasonably priced. Met a few friends as we went round and finally sat in the park for an hour, enjoying the warm weather. Went back to the car for a cuppa and then walked down to the stadium again, tryed to rob us of our drinks, had the choice of drinking them or binning them, drank a couple but got the other two in, Pop only but felt like a small victory. Sat in the usual place second tier by the second bend, spotted some mates from Coventry and got over to chat to them and then sat down to watch the GP. Thought the bloke on the bike was good, stunt rider, rider intros were better than last year, cant remember his name but the track announcer was good, eastbourne bloke. Enjoyed the racing, the track was so much better than last year and liked it that the riders who fell got up and off the track, nice to see that git Pedersen didnt make the semis. Felt the racing was alright but the end result was wrong, got home about 11.15pm, love these early starts from this well run meeting. It was nice to stop worrying bout the Brummies for a few hours, love SGP and cardiff.
  20. I love going to Cardiff, we have a great day out including the racing, The only time you can go to a speedway meeting knowing it willl be on.
  21. Enjoyed my first visit to Copenhagen, also enjoyed the meeting, didnt think the crowd was the biggest. We were on the back straight and the stand didnt look like it had been cleaned for a while a lot of rubbish on the floor but a good view, shame about the track cutting up, but some good moves by some of the riders. Harris was dreadful, Tai got better sorry he didnt make the final. Well done to Batchelor and Iversen. kildermand rode well for a wild card, glad pedersen didnt get many points. Very nice place Copenhagen, stayed till monday, lots to do and easy to get around, didnt realise it was the last one, another new track for me. Bring on Cardiff only thing Ive got to look forward to at the moment, looks like the Brummies have gone.
  22. Missed the first 15 minutes, but enjoyed the prog, Tai came over well and knows what he wants out of life. Good luck to him hope he becomes a multi world Champion.
  23. Didnt they used to have a girl in that group, have they split from her?
