Reckon Bryn would much rather have a Bundy like another legend Oxfords own Nobby -
Back when speedway was proper entertainment the old vulture races for reserves/2nd halfers were sometimes worth the admission on their own.The noise a bit of dust and the smell of Castrol R, small boys with a crushed coke can on there left shoe while making engine noises and racing in a circle against there mates. The good old days.

Rider Size, How Much Does It Matter?

Chris Cobby seemed to fluctuate between stocky and porker and always from the times i saw him was an entertaining rider. -

Fair play to Adam talented rider plenty of potential and prepared to rough it and put the effort in.Dont think he'll be like all those British proffessional NL riders i.e 4-5 years of no career progression. -

Surely an enterprising national federation if allowed would contact a company like ITV who think of ITV4 as there sports channel and see if they want to show it live or record it for an hour long highlights package.I know you would have to jump through a few FIM hoops but the package could also be sold on. What are the viewing figures for GPs on Eurosport i bet ITV4 would like those probably get more as on terrestial tv.

Oxford, Paul though on the outskirts not many pubs in the citycentre have sky though the ones that do would probably put it on if asked and other pub users didnt mind.My local shows anything and sometimes channel has to be turned over for a couple of minutes to catch a horse race but thats a small price to pay.As for complaints i have never seen anyone moaning about speedway being on in the various pubs i have seen it.Most seem to be keento watch and see some track action. -
Kent Kings V Wimbledon, now 16/09/2013
Triple.H. replied to Blazeaway's topic in National League Speedway
As i see it Kent fans get a fixture which gives them regularity which most EL fans would love the opposition could be named after any defunct team but the choice of Wimbledon gives their fans who now watch another team and lapsed supporters the chance to have a night out and cheer on their team. I hope its a great meeting in perfect weather and even though Sittingbourne is just this side of the back of beyond if it was Kent vs Oxford Cheetahs ( Rebels or Silver Machine ) i would be there to cheer on my team. -
From memory Mark Dickinson wasn't a whiteline rider at Oxford he was riding all over the place bloody good entertainment though. There was another rider from oop north around the sametime who rode exactly the same. The old NNL and NL had a multitude of entertaining riders.

Ipswich V Edinburgh 25/7/13
Triple.H. replied to Ipswich Jules's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Very public spirited of him.i have bumped into him a few times and he has always been polite and amenable unlike one of his fellow Ipswich riders who thought after the Cardiff GP that it would be fun to stand at the bar in the walkabout and have Wee against it. -

So what else has Barker done this week? I saw an incident recently which started on track after the race had finished and carried on as they rode into the pits passing the no bikes to be ridden in the pits sign one rider punched the other on the back of the head from behind followed by a bit if a melee. Not being at Ipswicb tonight i can't comment on what happened but surely referees should sbow some consistency. -

USA maybe i know it sounds a bit daft but Monster are a USA company as far as i know and if you're going to hire a stadium out why not put on all 4 rounds there.Knock out cheap tickets + Monsters extreme sports background could be a winner though probably a loss maker but speculate to accumulate as the old sayinv goes. -

I'd give the job to Phil Morris be knows the youngsters coming through, and with no disrespect to him his career was pretty much as a journeyman rider so he is probably far more aware of the many twists turns and pitfalls that any aspiring rider will come across. Also he always comes across well in the media and he's bloody intelligent to boot ( though not as smart as a 10 year old ) As he is already involved witb the U21s and youth it would have to be a 5 year plus job to reap the rewards. Whoops and due to a senior moment i forgot to mention his quite simple mantra of avoid last places is working wonders for Birmingham -
I know its a different era but John Louis didnt start till he was 28 as far as i know and had a good career. Age dont come into it IMO ability and attitude and a hunger to achieve bring far more to the table. Thats why we need recently retired riders involved they know the idiosyncrasies of tbe sport. Speedway is like the magic circle its full of those who know the tricks and those who are trying to fathom them out but have to work them out themselves.
