They'd need to find a way of generating power from rainfall.
-
Would he be able to ride in meetings under SCB regulations having been banned for refusing to take a drugs test. His ban may have expired but maybe the authorities would expect him to jump through a few hoops. TBH with his natural ability and some decent equipment I could see him easily being a top second string/third heat leader at CL level.
-
Maybe KB needs someone to take him under their wing and nurture him for a season or two. He's been passed from pillar to post around the northern teams, along with Covid-19 cropping up. Maybe an opportunity to ride for Workington under the new regime could be the spark that reignites his career.

Whatever happened to German Efficiency ?

Oxford v Poole 21/6/23 Championship.Triple.H. replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Good post except for the last sentence Ben Trigger is a good little rider, but because he beat Henry Atkins in one race doesn't make him the new Bartosz Zmarzlik. We should be encouraging all the young British riders not playing them off against each other.

Plymouth v Oxford - Tue 20th June - ChampTriple.H. replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway You believe wrong Meeting is Thursday 22nd June

But if had tipped down at midday then everyone has had a wasted journey. The forecast was wrong, it happens. Say there was a forecast for storms in Workington and you drove all the way there for it to be called off. Bet you'd be happy as Larry. Promoters are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Scunthorpe v PlymouthTriple.H. replied to hackneyrocket's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway I thought that the rules put a limit on how much could be paid as a guarantee. Though how it would be policed I have no idea.

Speedway On Tv And The Internet In 2025Triple.H. replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway News and Discussions Has anyone used the Berwick stream ? Just want to know if it's a good signal so not dropping in and out all the time. Thanks in advance for any info

One thing Ive seen on a pretty regular basis over the last 4 or 5 seasons is a rider stop racing due to EF etc and coasting around the whiteline instead of immediately leaving the track. IMO those riders should be fined as they're a potential cause of an accident.
-
Definitely shouldn't be allowed to ride. If the SCB are worried about possible litigation if an accident takes place in a meeting run by another governing body on a homologated SCB track Then they shouldn't be letting a rider with double vision be riding. Nothing against Erik Riss or either of his teams, if there was a crash and someone got seriously hurt, we all know what will hit the fan.

Oxford v Birmingham Wed 14th June CLTriple.H. replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway It's only £20 if purchased before raceday, so more or less the same as everyone in the CL. I'd say a couple of reasons they can afford the riders is the attendances and good sponsorship. Same as Poole in reality
-
Agreed Maybe/hopefully discussions are happening behind the scenes to sort the whole sorry saga out.
-
Not condemning him at all but it seems bizarre to say the least, that a member of a committee that threatens closure of a track for running under another governing body, then takes part in a meeting at the same track, run under that governing body.
-
I don't want to get my big wooden spoon out, but wasn't one of the competitors a member of the SCB committee ?
-
Many years ago, i'm fairly sure that due to one of those quirky rules British speedway love so much, that John Davis rode as a guest replacement for himself.

Poole Vs Plymouth 7th June leagueTriple.H. replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway From what I heard Oxford wanted to go PL but were turned down and told they could only go CL at the highest. No doubt in the best interests of the sport. I myself am totally happy with CL which I've always thought is the best league for variety and competitiveness. Plus in the latter years before we were shutdown the Conference league was very enjoyable and the Chargers in the NDL both last year and this are great value for money.
