  1. https://twitter.com/workycomets/status/1755225442150146291 Tune into BBC Looknorth tonight at 6.30pm! Our history-making Celina Liebmann is featuring on the programme… For those outside of the area you can view the feature on BBC iPlayer from around 8pm for 24 hours #championshipcomets
  2. Depends what is classed as a "concession", as unemployed might be classed as this. I take it, in the category you mean, it's Pension age.
  3. The "others" have signed their contracts, so whatever they've agreed to, is what they've agreed to, which means the promotion don't need to pay them any extra to what was agreed in the first place!!
  4. New date needed: https://www.poole-speedway.com/news/view/2024-02-06-kyle-forced-into-testimonial-date-re-think-again

  6. Daft question, maybe, but what has that got to do with Berwick 2024???
  7. How can they announce a signing if they haven't made one? I'm sure once they have made the signing and it's confirmed by the BSPL, then they will make the announcement. It will be as frustrating for the Promotion, as it is for the fans, I'm sure.
  8. Sign someone else on a short-term deal until the injured rider is fit could be a possible alternative, I guess.

  10. We (GRT Media) used to record the meetings at Workington when Graham was team manager/Promoter and was a delight to work with. Always honest in his interviews and very easy to get on with. RIP Graham.
  11. Quite possibly, but in those days (I'm talking mid-to-late-70's here), I seem to remember, a lot of people used to stick around, because it was a "proper" second-half, with all the riders from the main meeting involved.
  12. Which is why they were put on during the interval.
  13. You'd need more than that after you've paid the VAT. I honestly think that paying any rider £100 a point in the (watered down) Championship is madness.
  14. Certainly before Christmas...... ........
  15. He's often been given a chance in the Championship down the years and still hasn't kept down a place anywhere. Maybe in a weaker league he may do a little better, but I think there are a few riders ahead of him with more potential, IMO.
  16. Which, I guess, is why there are no "stand alone" clubs in it.
  17. Well, no it's not really. Speedway has a points limit, otherwise, what you are suggesting, the teams with money would be 1-7's of 7,8 and 9 point riders, while all the others would be 2, 3, 4's etc. And, as I keep saying, just because a rider "demands" a certain amount, clubs don't have to pay it and at the end of the day either the rider reduces his demands or doesn't get a ride.
  18. Could this be on the wrong thread, do we think?
  19. Lee Complin achieved an average over 4.00 in PL/Championship, a few years ago mind, but still.
