No. Usually a heat, maybe two. Depending on how many have booked, it's usually done all as one group. You are taken on to and off the centre green as a group.

Taken off Facebook: Would you be interested in joining the Newcastle Speedway Supporters Association? Our Ethos Is to raise funds to help support the continuation of speedway at Brough Park and help build a wider fan base to support the future of the club. The Supporters Association will be ran independently but in conjunction with the promotion to help sustain the future of Newcastle Speedway. Our Aim Is to have a working voluntary committee who will be democratically elected by its members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Committee will work alongside the promotion to deliver the ethos and aims of the association. Funds raised by the Supporters Associations; Last Lap Draw will go directly towards the upkeep/ running costs of Newcastle Speedway. The remainder of the funds will go towards community based initiatives and ring fenced for social events. Newcastle Speedway will be able to request additional funds from the NSSA on an adhoc basis at the discretion of the committee. Annual Memberships Annual membership to the Supporters Association will be available to purchase following our formal launch event with options for adult, children, and family memberships. If members sign up on our launch night they will be entered into our very first free monthly prize draw exclusively for members of the Supporters Association.

"under the current restrictions" ie Covid.
-
Taken from itv Tyne/Tees news website: "Newcastle Speedway was running three teams: the Diamonds, the Gems and the Sapphires. Since Covid, the club says it has had to drop the Gems because it couldn't afford the overheads of running three teams under the current restrictions." Fans paying £18 at the turnstile vs. Fans paying £11.99 to watch the stream, of which clubs will only get a %. Which would you choose if it were you running the club? I don't know if it's like the football and clubs get money off the streaming service when the meeting is shown live, as a compensation of all the fans wanting to save £6 admission + loss of programme sales, food sales, Track Shop sales etc., etc., on the meeting?
-
There might be a minimum distance from the track to the IP address, so those 'near' (whatever distance they want) to the home track can't access the stream?
-
Really depends on your point of view. The main thing for Newcastle is "keep your home fans happy," as that's where Rob & co. will get some of their money back, by fans returning to Brough Park and in turn will keep the Diamonds running. Once that's (hopefully) built up, then they can plan to attract the riders who will do well at home and away and be able top push for honours (e.g. Cups)/play-offs etc. Getting the balance right is the key, but the priority has to be home form and "entertainment," to keep the crowds coming through the turnstiles.

Seeing as it doesn't look like he's going to answer your question (there's a surprise), I will answer it. It's quite simple really, neither the current nor previous Promotions have asked me to post anything on here. All posts are on my own initiative because I want as many to see whatever I'm posting as possible, as I want the club to be a success, no matter who is at the helm. Not all are on Facebook, so, if it's on FB and not on the website, I will put it on here (sometimes it's on FB, then they put it on the website a short while later, but I've already put it on here!). Hope that clears that up!
-
The Promotion have never asked me to post anything on here. Stop making stuff up.

But you said "It would appear that the promotion use you as a mouthpiece," which is not the case.

Off the Diamonds website: Newcastle Diamonds are thrilled to announce that this year, we will be working alongside the Northumberland County Show. This prestigious event, that attracts 25,000 plus visitors, has like many shows across the country had to take an extended break due to the pandemic, with the last show being staged back in 2019. This year, however, the show is back with a bang and Newcastle Speedway are honoured to be taking to the main stage as the shows main attraction for 2022. This year, the show takes place on Friday 3rd June, in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations and all of our Diamonds and management team will be there to fly the flag for Newcastle Speedway, in what promises to be an amazing show. The Diamonds will be performing burnouts, wheelies and laps of a grass track to entertain the thousands in the crowd, and we hope to see as many of our fans there as possible on the day cheering the lads on! We are truly honoured to be asked to take part in such a massive event for the region, and our 2022 promotional campaign could not have had a better start than to work alongside the County Show. Tickets for the show are available to purchase on the day, however to beat the queues as it gets very busy, we thoroughly recommend buying your tickets in advance direct from their website, when they get released in the very near future. To keep an eye on all info and upcoming details of the 2022 Northumberland County Show please visit their website below… https://www.northcountyshow.co.uk/

The promotion certainly don't use me as a "mouthpiece," everything I post on here is totally out of my own desire to do so. As far as helping out on the Website, been there, done that and 'got the T-shirt.'

If you're not happy, why not offer your services?

Taken off Facebook: We are thrilled to announce your 'meet the riders' evening has now been organised for FRIDAY 4TH MARCH @ 7PM The evening will take place at our friends, South Gosforth Sports & Social Club and we hope to see as many of you there as possible. The event will be free entry, with amazing streetfood, including Burgers and Gyros, available to purchase on the evening. This is your chance to hear direct from all the 2022 lads about their thoughts on the season ahead, and put any questions to them you may have. As always the bar will be open and we will also be hosting a raffle and there will be music on afterwards for a full evenings entertainment! So make sure you get yourself along, Friday 4th March @ 7pm, and help us start the season off right!

I thought maybe I was hallucinating when I stood next to you on the terraces last season!!

Still haven't answered my question, I see.

When did he stop going?

You could say this for most, if not all the tracks in the country. 99.9% of fans are fine and you can have a decent conversation with them and enjoy the banter, but you still have that 0.1% who (usually) have "one over the eight" and cause you grief. Rather than cause trouble, unfortunately, the only option is for you to move to another part of the track. I must say though in all the years of travelling away to support the Diamonds, it's never come to that, but I know it's happened to others, even at Brough Park.
-
Don't forget you have to switch at Monument from the Central Station to get to Byker, which adds to the journey.
