  1. With a 6.30pm start and 27 heats to get through, it was deemed that there was no time for an interval to let riders go round the crowd for the collection. As far as I am aware there was buckets placed near the turnstiles/next to the track shop (not sure which). You can still donate: Text SRBF to 70085 to donate £5. Via PayPal at www.srbf.co.uk Cheque made payable to SRBF and posted to ACU House, Wood Street, Rugby, CV21 2YX.
  2. Also on Berwick Facebook Page: THE SHOW MUST GO ON! Unfortunately our star guest Jason Crump has fallen ill only hours before tonight’s final SGB Championship match vs the Glasgow Tigers. Jason is in town and would publicly like to address the fans live and in person to explain the situation and we wish Crumpy a speedy recovery. Your FTS Bandits will run RR at number 1 this evening and although this was not in the script we will be going all guns blazing at 7pm for the win! See you trackside folks

  4. The overnight rain probably did for the meeting anyway. Doesn't matter if it "actually rains" - damage already done, I think.
  5. Meeting OFF. Re-arranged for next Fri (17 Sept). https://www.facebook.com/LeicesterLionsSpeedway/photos/a.1077501778958265/6265888813452843/
  6. Cambois was looked at years ago. I can't remember why it was rejected, or by who. Tsunami may be able to tell us more.
  7. South Tyneside Council own it. Junior Football pitch in the middle of it now: https://www.southtyneside.gov.uk/article/49716/Gypsies-Green-sport-pitch
  8. May 2002, scores were level at 30-30. I remember Andre Compton saying afterwards that he "couldn't see a thing when in front and was basically guessing where he had turn turn for the corners". It was the first abandonment by fog since the end of season four team challenge in 1975. In the re-arranged match the Diamonds won 48-41and also won at Newport 47-43.
  9. I (stupidly) went off the latest Green Sheets! I should, of course, gone back to the original declaration Green Sheets. Thanks for the correction.
  10. They were built to a 2* so can use a 2* (similar to Newcastle who can use a 3* for Archie Freeman who is a 1*!!).
  11. I left Barrow in 1971. I went to Holker Street with my ex-next door neighbour in 1973 for one meeting (Canterbury, I think) and twice in 1974 for two meetings (Boston and Workington). I also saw the 1977 Eddie Crooks Trophy meeting at Park Road.
  12. If it does close again, this time it could well be for good, as Planning Permission is highly unlikely to be be granted, which is why we are all hoping for someone to come along and save the club.
  13. The problem is how long have we being saying this for? The "powers that be" haven't listened before, so why change now?
  14. With only four meetings left, I can't see any rider signing for us, to be honest, but if we do sign someone they will be made welcome to the Diamonds cause.
  15. But deserved on this occasion. Two teams (Eastboune Champ and NDL) have gone to the wall today, yet you want teams to splash out £thousands on a clock in the middle of the track? Just to save on riders digging/gardening at the start (which is always going to happen, by the way)?
  16. Yeah and yet more cost to clubs, some of which can hardly run due to financial difficulties to begin with.
  17. This might seem a daft question, but how can Kent run a Championship meeting on Bank Holiday Monday, when Monday's are meant to be "protected" for Premiership meetings?
  18. He's listed in Eastbourne's 1-7. They haven't folded, officially, yet, as far as I know, so surely he should be allowed to guest?
  19. In Newcastle's case, the greyhound people need to get across and on to the speedway track during a greyhound meeting. Berwick can't put covers down if Berwick Rangers are playing at home on the same day are just two examples that I know of. I would think other greyhound owned stadiums have the same or similar rules to those at Newcastle.
  20. Last I heard was Tom was guesting both tonight (Tuesday) at Kent and tomorrow (Wednesday) at Poole. I haven't seen that had changed.
